11/27/04 the sequel.....

Hi all, thankyou sooo much for all your thoughts and prayers it really did help, my grandma was the kind of person who loved people & cared about everyone, she loved to be made a fuss of, i know she would have been over the moon knowing people from across the ocean who she never met were thinking of her.
Its been a tough week, but i count my blessings she lead a full & long life & i know there are others not so fortunate.
Thankyou all XXX

We'll continue to keep you in our family's prayers, traceycooper, for your family's solace and healing. I like to think my father enjoys everything that he loved on earth tenfold, but my family still misses him.

I am really excited this morning..............I just booked our excursions for the cruise - See and Sea in St. Marteen, Doubloon sail in St. Thomas and parasailing at Castaway Cay! Also talked to Debbie this week and booked Palo for dinner and brunch and couples massage. I think all there is left to do is pack! Can it come any quicker? :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :yo-yo:

Hi everyone. I want to start by saying to traceycooper how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Each and every loss is a sad one regardless of age. I do understand your pain as I lost my mother in July. She was only 65 and had a brain anuerisymn that ruptured. She was in a coma for 12 days when we were told that not only was she in a persistant vegatative coma but she also had sever brain damage and brain stem damage. My brother and I had to make the that gut wrenching decision about life support. As you can tell we chose to remove her from life support rather than a feeding tube, a trach for assisted breathing via ventilator and to live out her days in a nursing home with no real quality of life. Regardless of any circumstances or age of a loved one passing, greiving is never easy. There is no right or wrong way or any time frame which to go by. Having family and friends to help is one of the greatest support systems anyone could have. I am very impressed with the outpouring of thoughtfullness and kindness people on these boards have towards others they don't even know. It really restores ones faith in society. I am very much looking forward to meeting all of you and your families in November. I think you are a great group of people and I am thrilled to be cruising with you all. I promise my next post will not be such a downer.

Tink1663 and Traceycooper - I'm sorry to hear about your losses. Different situations but both as sad and painful. Keeping you in our prayers.

Diane

Booked our excursion today - Doubloon Sail & Snorkel in St Thomas.

Disneefun - thanks for letting us know that we could book the excursions before the 60 day mark. One more thing crossed off my list of To-Dos.

Diane

Thanks for the heads up! Emailed Disney yesterday to request Under Two Flags for St. Maarten and Captain Nautica's Snorkeling Expedition in St. John...how long should it take for them to get back to me?? I'm very excited...cruise newsletter #3 (on excursions, no less!) is going out this weekend to the family. Can't believe we can book already!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
:p IVY :p

Hi all, i e-mailed disney on Saturday (18th) to book excursions still awaiting a reply, does any one know how long they usualy take to get back to you???
Want to book St John snorkel & Snorkel gear for castaway cay.
Can i book Palos and spa ressies too????

Wish i lived in the USA would be a lot simpler to pick up the phone!!!!!

Booked Discovery Cove for Monday 15th Nov, was feeling depressed about grandma so just went and did it with out telling DH, he took it pretty well though!!:teeth:
Not telling our daughter it will be a suprise.

Cant wait to meet you all, you have been so kind and helpful, went back to work yesteday & no one asked how we were or offered any condolences, they were too busy trying to make me feel guilty for having time off!!! As you've proberbly guessed i dont like my job much! Roll on next year when i will have qualified to be a teaching assistant!!
:wave2:

Tracey-

I am so jealous you get to swim with the dolphins!! That was the one thing I wanted to do, but Camryn (DD 4) wasn't old enough. We will be thinking of you! Can't wait to meet you and Leanne! Ooops! Gary too!!

Hope all is well with you! Saw your "wish"! Started back at Weight Watchers last week to try to lose before we cruise!!!

Have a great week!

Hi guys, I'm sorry to say that Stephanie and I won't be cruising with you in November. :(

I lost my job recently and can't really afford the cruise right now. We did rebook for the April 30th, 2005 cruise though so all is not lost. :)

I hope you all still have a fabulous trip, I will be thinking about you when the time comes I'm sure!

Tracey, my WISH buddy, I'm going to expect a full report when you return! :teeth:

Take care, everyone. :)

Michelle, I am so very sorry to hear this. It's an undesirable situation, but one that so many of us have to be ready to make. We were in a similar situation when my company announced it was outsourcing 2/3 of our jobs the Friday before Labor Day. While I wasn't affected, I may get "tagged" next year. My family's prayers will be with you that everything works out well. Many times these adverse situations end up as golden opportunities--we'll pray that this is the case with you.

:grouphug: So sorry to hear that you and Stephanie won't be able to join us, Michelle. :( I'm glad you were able to rebook though. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers!

I just can't believe that my family [of 3] will be able to go on this cruise!!!!

We are one of those who "were left behind" because of Hurricane Frances for the 9/4 cruise. Gee, are we glad we opted to cancel & not go...

After much consideration about school, work & other details, we decided to join this cruise.

This will be our 1st cruise ever so you can imagine how devastated we were when we realized that we couldn't go but everything happens for a reason, right? However, we are really excited about this one & are praying that no hurricanes will stop us this time around.

So I am officially joining this Cruise Meet & look forward to learning lots of tips from you pros out there.

Can you tell I'm excited?

Millie

Welcome Scrappy520! We're first time cruisers as well and the folks on this Cruise Meets have been wonderful in freely giving advice and ideas (and a lot of fun--I'm looking forward to meeting up with everyone in November!). Let dtuleya know your ages, stateroom and pre-cruise motel (if you're coming in the night before), and any anniversaries, birthdays, etc. She has been doing a wonderful job of sending updated listings of everyone on our cruise who use DIS.

Princess Michelle - so sorry to hear about your job, i was really looking forward to meeting you too, i hope you get to go on the cruise later.

Darci - remember to keep discovery cove a secret from Leanne!!
At least you've got an excuse to go back again when your children are older to do the dolphin swim, although i could go without doing the swim as DC is wonderful in its own right.

We got our confirmation through from the cruise line, we have booked the 5-star St John snorkel swim & Snorkel gear rental for
Castaway Cay. We are going to do the sky ride at St Thomas by ourselves (dont think Disney do it anyway) & shop till i drop!!!

Scrappy520 welcome aboard! You will love the ship, we went 2 years ago & are just as excited this time round you will be hooked!:wave2:

How old is the child you are bringing with you?

I can't imagine how disappointed you were when you didn't get to sail. Let's hope for better weather this time.

Are you a scrapbooker? (I noticed your name!) I teach scrapbooking classes and in fact am teaching a Disney class this week-end. It is an entire ABC book for a trip to Disney. It is always so fun to get together with other Disney lovers!!

If anyone would like to see the album you can go to www.iowascrapbookextravaganza.com and click on classes and then the Disney class link. Hope it gives someone some ideas.

I booked my excursions the other day. We are doing the submarine in St. Thomas, and then shopping of course!!! My mom has referred me to her favorite jeweler in St. Thomas!! My DH is going to go parasailing at Castaway Cay. My girls really wanted to do it too, but unfortunately they are too little.

I can't believe how close we are to going! Our 60 day mark is just around the corner!!!!

Hope everyone is having a good week!!

Tracey--

It is so hard to keep a secret!! I didn't tell Karli you were doing the dolphin swim for that very reason!!

Have we decided a location for our meet?

Darcimborcherding -

I guess my name is a dead giveaway, uh? Yes, I've been sb'g for 8+ yrs & I'm also a stamper - I sell SU!

How is sailing in Nov? I'm scared about the weather!!!! I just booked my flights. All I have left is do the towncar pick up & we should be all set.

I'll visit your link later from home. Thanks for sharing!

My daughter is 8 yrs old.

Millie
