Hi darcimborcherding - my son will be 5 on the cruise and he likes older women - LOL. He'll be in the clubs with your DD6.
A few pages back there is a list of children by ages. We have quite a variety. When the time gets closer I'm going to try to swap pictures with the 5 & 6 year olds so my son will feel like he knows the kids. He did like the club last year, but I'm sure he would if he had some friends.

Just noticed you are a Florida resident, can you tell me what the weather is like in November - No i'm not packing just yet! but would like to have an idea of what to expect!
We are in Disney for 2 weeks before the cruise & i've heard mixed things regarding the weather that time of year.
6 weeks to go till we have to pay for the holiday!!

The weather here that time of year is USUALLY ideal - low to mid 70s F with occasional days up to 80. The only problem is we can get a "cold front" that pushes down from the north that will drop the temps into the 60s. A good example was our cruise(same dates) last year. The whole week leading up to departure the weather was in mid 70s-low 80s. Departure day came and it dropped to about 59 and windy!
It is generally dry that time of year, as opposed to now when we get lots of rain with the heat!
Packing advice - probably the most you would need would be a few sweaters in case it cools off. If it is normal, shorts would be fine most days.
Since your time at WDW is before the cruise, you have a better chance that the weather will be fine. After the cruise it becomes a little more iffy as we get into December.
Of course, the weather on the cruise gets better the farther south we go. Last year both St Thomas and St Martin were great -mid 80s. Castaway was also nice - mid 70s. However the day at sea to Castaway was rainy and rough - and the Wonder scheduled for Castaway the day after us could not dock due to winds and they got all the crappy weather we had the day before at sea.

We can hardly wait to cruise. My DS's (9 & 12) have been practicing snorkling in our neighborhood pool.

The ship did not seem crowded, so I doubt if it was full. I know there were Florida Resident discounts available very close to sailing - indicating a less than full ship. Also, that time of year is probably not a time that lots of school age kids go - not like the summer months! Although, to be honest I have never noticed a huge difference between a crowded ship and less crowded. To me, it never seems overwhelming.
Regarding Holiday activities, we love this time of year because of the ship decorations! I know there are several related activities. One night early in the cruise (I think it was Sunday) they have a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in the atrium with characters, fake snowfall, and all. I think there were activities associated with decorating the very large gingerbread house that they have in one of the hallways near the atrium.
On Monday night they had a musical rendition by Mrs Claus of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" in the atrium, and one night they had Holiday storytime with Mrs Claus.
We didn't make it to most of these events, but just having the ship decorated in all the public areas made it really special. It is really beautiful - and the ship is beautiful without decorations anyway!

I really hope it is fine for the cruise though, dont like the thought of choppy seas or missing out on Castaway Cay!!

Starting last year they turned Castaway Cay into a winter wonderland for the christmas season (should be starting with our cruise this year). There are some photos on ***************** if I remember correctly.
They also did the tree lighting on the Castaway Cay dock at sailaway time.

Well gang, it looks like I need to bow out. There's a business meeting being scheduled for the same week as this cruise, and I really need to (& want to) attend. We tried for the following week, but some other group has the bulk of the meeting space booked already.
So, tomorrow I'll move my 11/27 cruise to the 12/4 sailing. It'll be Western, but I never care where I cruise and I've been to all of the Disney ports several times.

Hi, all. DH and I just moved to this cruise from the 1/29 Western. Had to change the dates, but this worked out much better, actually (and it cut our wait time by 2 months which is always a good thing). Can't wait! Look forward to meeting some of you.
