11/27/04 the sequel.....

Hi, all. DH and I just moved to this cruise from the 1/29 Western. Had to change the dates, but this worked out much better, actually (and it cut our wait time by 2 months which is always a good thing). Can't wait! Look forward to meeting some of you.

Welcome aboard! You're added to the list. If you give me your info (room #, names, ages, etc.) I can add that to the list. :wave2:

Hi all, has anyone worked out the date for when we can ring Disney and book excursions? I was told it has to be 60 days before we sail.

I'll have to make a revision to the list. Don't tell my DW that I realized our 15th anniversary is 12/2/04 (she'll think I forgot). We'll be staying at the Airport Holiday Inn Select on the 26th. Just the 8 of us! Curt (49 y/o), Steph (46), Chris (12), Chloe (10), Claire (9), Spencer (8), Caleb (4) and Cameron (3). I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on our first DCL cruise!!!

Just booked my flight...Delta for $123.80!! Yippee!! :bounce: I will be coming in November 26th in the AM-hopefully the rest of the family will be coming in that day as well, and we will be staying at a priceline hotel around MCO. Now the cruise seems real!!!

Just wanted to share!
:p IVY :p

Welcome aboard to all the new cruisers! I hope everyone is enjoying summer. Ours seems to be flying by. T-Ball just ended which frees up M-T-W and Thurs evenings. It was a lot of fun, but I'm glad it's over. I was starting to have Disboard withdrawal.

Amanda, How are you doing without your 3 oldest? Have you taken your trip to Disney yet with your 1 yr old??

Ivy, how did Tiffany and her husband like St. Lucia? We spent our honeymoon there and loved it. The beaches were great and the people were very nice. We would love to go back for a future anniversary.

As far as excursions go, we haven't decided yet, but are thinking about doing the following:

On St. Martin, the Anguilla Dolphin and Stingray Encounter. I read excellent reviews on these boards and in my Passporter. I thought it was a little pricey, but it sounds like it would be memorable and great fun!

On St. John, we are looking in to the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel. Again, I've read great reports on the boards and from others, it sounds like the trip operators really go out of their way to make sure the kids have a fun time. I also read nice things about it in the Passporter Guide. I think they have a website: www.doubloon.com

I've also read several nice reports about the St. John Trunk Bay excursion.

I'm still putting together my list of must dos, but so far: RESP, Palo and hopefully our kids will spend some time in the clubs so that we can enjoy some adult time.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Thank you, Denise. I'm excited to meet all of the folks from this wonderful forum! You're doing a great job keeping track of all of us!::yes::

We are now coming on the 26th !!!!!! and staying at the raddison I think princess: ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo 114 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denise, I think I messed you up by posting toooo many times! We are on your list twice--once as a ???? stateroom and once as 2502 and 2504. All 8 of us are packed into 2502 and 2504--the only two adjacent staterooms they had left apparently. Sorry to create such a headache! :headache:

TGIF!!!! I got home from work late. Decided that I was too tired to cook, thought about making a salad but ordered pizza instead. Well, since my diet is already messed up I might as well open a bottle of wine and check disboards while the kids are watching cartoons!!!!LOL

I'm trying to research MVMCP and some things to do while we're at WDW after the cruise. We haven't been to Disney for the Christmas party before. We've done the Halloween party twice and really enjoyed it.

Is anyone thinking of rebooking on board? We are going to be at WDW right after Thanksgiving in '05 and if all goes well with this cruise I will try to talk my DH into rebooking for the week after WDW next year. Hopefully no one in our group will get sea sick LOL!!!

Have a nice weekend!

Gailyn

:wave2:

I don't think we'll be rebooking onboard since this is the last time I'll be able to take oldest DS on a vacation during the school year. He's a sophmore this year who still plays JV sports. He'll be "punished" enough for missing basketball practices as it is, and since he'll probably play varsity basketball and football next year and also has AP courses with block scheduling, it doesn't look promising.

All our trips will have to be planned in the summer and around school holidays when you pay premium prices. :(

Looks like categories 10-12 are sold out on our cruise. Strange - last year they had a sale on Cat 11 for the same cruise - we got back over $400 by calling our TA when we saw the sale. OR ... maybe they'll upgrade some in cat 11 this year so they have room for another sale. Sounds good to me ... I'll take the refund or the upgrade. LOL

Welcome aboard to all 25 of you! I know what you mean about traveling with a large group. A friend of mine is the one who originally talked us into cruising has about 40 people coming on the trip. She even has relatives flying in from England. We even get a cocktail reception for the group! :hyper:

I'm a little confused though, two different cruisers gave me the same room number 6068. Friend_of_Piglet and you both game me the same room. Is she with your group? Hope she didn't have to cancel!:earseek:

I know someone asked earlier, but it's back a couple of pages. What excursions is everyone planning on doing? Here's what we're doing:

St. Maarten - Dolphin Encounter

St. Thomas - We've decided to do Sapphire Beach on our own. We're going to take a taxi from the port over to the beach so we have more control over our time. That way we can head back the ship for lunch and then change and do a little in town shopping when we feel like it.

:wave2:
Welcome aboard pwoodham and all!!

We too would like to do the dolphin encounter, not sure how easy it will be for us to pre-book it though as we are coming from England and our holiday is booked through a TA we dont get our cruise tickets till about 2 weeks before we fly so we have no reservation number for disney cruise line and we wont know our cabin number till then either.
Paying the balance in 3 weeks so i'm gonna ask the TA to contact the tour operator to see if we can find out, i've never pre-booked before either, last time we booked everything on the ship.
Is it easy to do??

You just call Disney Cruise Line at the 60 day mark and tell them what excursions you want to book. This is from the Disney website:

Shore Excursion Request

Three easy ways to reserve your shore excursions:
Call the Special Services Desk at (877) 566-0968†.
E-mail your shore excursion requests along with your name and reservation number to dcl.shore.excursions@disneycruise.com*
Click here to download and print a PDF of the Shore Excursion Request Form. Then fill out the form completely and fax to (407) 566-7031† .
Shore excursions can be made within 60 days prior to sailing. Some excursions have capacity limits so be sure to make your request early. Reservations are taken on a first come first served basis. You can alter your shore excursion requests anytime up to two (2) days prior to sailing. You should note that after that time, no new excursion reservations can be made and all existing shore excursion reservations are considered final and unfortunately cannot be changed or refunded. Of course if you decide not to pre-reserve shore excursions prior to your cruise, you can still stop by the ship's Shore Excursion Desk, located on Deck 3, on embarkation day, to check availability and purchase excursions. But remember, some excursions may already be full and therefore unavailable.

When your shore excursion is pre-reserved, you will receive excursion tickets delivered to your stateroom on embarkation day. Payment for confirmed excursions is conveniently billed directly to your shipboard account. We unfortunately will not be able to accept payment in advance.

*We are unable to accept attachments with email requests. Please provide the required detail from the Excursion Request Form into a text email.

† If you are not 18 years of age or older, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to dial this number.
