11/26/2011 EARLY Bananahead reunions cruise

Joanna, your comment made me snort! I laughed so hard I got a headache! :lmao:

Your a brave girl to do a Caribbean/Bahama's cruise during the peak of hurricane season!

What happened to your NCL cruise in February?

I am still doing my NCL cruise in February, The Dream doesn't sail until 2011.

I LOVE hurricane season!!! I was on Disney's first 10 night cruise becasue of hurricane season. BRING IT ON!!!

We were on an NCL cruise several years ago and hit rough seas between Cuba and St. Thomas. It wasn't hurricane related but the waves were about 40' tall and the ship was really rockin'.

At first I thought it was a lot of fun, but after about 4 hours of non stop rocking.....I was green in the face and sicker then a dog.

Well there ya go Greg, that is the Disney difference. We were in Hurricane Frances and they kept us in very calm waters and then we docked in Lauderdale and DCL took us all by bus either to the airport or to Port Orleans and put us up in PO for free, when I got to the airport the next day I met a family who was on Carnival and they said Carnival just dropped everyone off at the airport and didn't even try to help with hotel ressies. Granted they don't own hotels like Disney but Disney could have charged full or half price but they didn't.

Don't get me wrong, I like trying other lines...but when push comes to shove Disney stands above the rest in doing the right thing. But you pay a premium for it.

Joanna, you just endeared yourself to Jeff forever and ever :cloud9:

Yeah, I don't have a big problem with DCL, other then they're premium price..... unless you can get in on some special deal.

She only speaks the truth. I want to try other lines too but not until my kids are a little older for sure. For me the biggest thing is that smoking situation. Because of our allergies and Em's asthma, we can't stay in a room that has any odor of anyone ever smoking there. I've checked out of a few five star hotel rooms because they were allegedly non smoking but obviously someone cheated or hotel lied. I can't imagine being in a cabin of a ship like Carnival or NCL that allows its guest to smoke in cabins. I won't do that to my kids. So Disney (and now RCCL) is the only choice for us if we want to cruise.

I guess I just get astounded that people who clearly have no interest in ever cruising DCL hang out on a DCL cruise board.

Jeff, if it bothers you that much... nobody is twisting your arm to view this thread. :sad2:

I wasn't the one who got myself banned from the "DCL cruise board", so I'm not so sure you're in a position to judge me.

Afternoon all:

Greg: The video was really cool....poor Holly.....you have to take her for a ride in a firetruck now!!!:rolleyes1

Nothing much goin on here.....thankgoodness its friday......we have having some unseasonalble weather this weekend....in the high 60's so I'm looking forward to that.

Hi Denise,

Once the fire truck left Holly forgot all about it and went back to playing. :rotfl2:

You'd better send some of your unseasonably warm weather this way....I could use some. :thumbsup2

Oh Kathy!

Are you going to pry yourself away from the parks long enough to say "Hi" before you get on the ship tomorrow? :rolleyes1

If you happen to see this before you leave......I hope you have a great cruise!! :cool1: :banana::banana::banana::banana:

Yeah but the main reason you pay a premium is because there is no gambling on the ship, which many people like because they feel the casinos bring in a whole different crowd.

Can't we all just get along:grouphug:

Good point Christine! :thumbsup2

It just makes it more difficult for larger families like mine to justify the added cost.

While we will probably never go back to WDW, we're still open to sailing with Disney if the price is right.

Both of you boys stop your fighting, get back to your islands and plants stuff so I can steal it. You're welcome.:banana::banana:
