Good Morning!

I just realized in a little over a month, we will be sitting a less than a year until our cruise! Wahoo!

Kathy - Are you ready for your cruise next month?

Hi Kay,
well I am sorta ready??
I need to make my door signs and I would still like one new blouse and pair of slacks. Then I am ready.
I am interviewing dog sitters this week for Minnie.
I want her to stay in our home so she isnt locked up in a cage for the week. Here she has doggie doors so she can stay in or go out and play in the yard when ever she wants. Plus here she is familiar with everything. Dog sitters only stay about 30 minutes a visit.
So I am going to see if I can hire a couple girls that Minnie knows in the neighborhood to come over after school for an hour to just play with her and keep her company. We need to talk to the girls parents this week because they would have to agree with it too. I know the girls would love to do it.
There are 2 of them and they are about 8, so they should be able to handle coming in to play for an hour. On saturday and sunday I want them for 2 separate one hour stays.

So that is what I am doing this week, lots of phone calls today and meeting sitters towards the end of the week. wish me luck!!! most dont want to come to the little town I am in. they say I am too far "OUT".

I found a dog sitter, so we are very happy about that. One less thing to think about.

Congrats on finding a dog sitter, Kathy. Did you get the girls you were thinking about? I'll have to do the same thing next year.

We had my aunt and uncle from Ohio over tonight for dinner. We hadn't seen each other in about 12 years, so it a fun evening. The good news is that they might be coming this way again in the spring

Well, I guess it's time for me to go to bed. Good night.

Actually the dog sitter is a man who my husband knows really well, he works for my DH. I have met him a few times, plus he lives in the same subdivision as we do, 3 minutes walk away!!
he will check on her twice a day, plus take her for along walk each evening. He has a10 year old son and if his son wants to come in each day and play with her for an hour each day,, we will pay him to do so, if he doesnt want to do this, then we will ask the girls and their parents if they want to comein and play with minnie.
Minnie knows Mike already too, he often pets her when she is on her evening walk, that will help some too.

my DH is going nuts I think because I keep worrying about the dog so much. i worry about her being lonesome!!!!Since she had been an abused dog, emotional things bother her more so than a dog with normal mental health, if that makes sense??

well I couldnt get on line until about 6:30 this morning, but at least it is working now. I usually get on around 5 a.m. and write all my letters.

I will check back around lunch to see if anyone has some news today, I hope to go out and get something to make door signs with this morning or tomarrow. i really need to get with it!! My cruise is fast approching,

It's a cold, rainy dreary day here. So, I don't mind being a work too much today.

Your dog sitter sounds great. I don't think you're worrying too much about Minnie. I have three dogs that haven't been abused and I would do exactly the same thing you are doing. They're part of our family. It's our job to protect them as much as possible.

Do you get your door sign supplies from a craft store, or do you go to an office supply store?

I like to go to Michaels craft stores or Joannes fabric and craft stores.
But I buy the magnetic sheets at wal mart in their stationairy supply by the computer paper.

Thanks Kathy. I have all three of those stores close to me, so I'll check them out.

I just got home and found out dh isn't feeling well. He thinks it might be a stomach virus. The wet, rainy weather doesn't help anything. It's making me feel like I want to curl up and take a nap. Both kids woke up grumpy this morning, so it looks like we may be turning in early tonight.

But for now, I'd better go get some laundry done and dinner made.

Well, I've got a load of laundry in the dryer that isn't anywhere close to drying and the entire house is asleep except for me. So, I'm headed to bed.

Morning,
well it took almost 2 hours to get on line today. We have been having trouble all week with the interent.
so frustrating!!!
We are finally suppose to get some rain today.
Nothing special today, tomarrow's bug highlight is taking Minnie in to ger her nails clipped and filed.

Anybody else got anything exciting happening???

Good Morning,

I'm a bit frazzled right now. It took me three hours to get to work today! They closed down part of the highway because an accident caused a truck to drop screws on the road!

So, I'm going to settle in to work now and check back later.

it sounds like you need to kick back , take a deep breath and sip some herbal tea!!!! Your lucky you didnt run over a screw and get a flat tire!!

I'm better now - just not a pleasant way to start the day.

I was worried about driving through that section, for a couple reasons. One, I only got my car in August and two, I'm over an hour away from home if I need to replace my tire.

Keep your fingers crossed for me on my commute home.

Kathy - made it home safe and sound with no problems

We had a pretty quiet night which was nice. We were able to open the windows up again and let the fresh air in. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the lower 70's, so I'm soaking up all this nice weather before winter settles in.

Guess I'll sign off tonight...talk with you tomorrow.

Sorry haven't posted for a few days. Works been busy and when I get home I'm getting ready for Hawaii only three weeks away.

Not much going on here. It finally feels like fall. Most people think it's like Florida here but it actually gets cold. Right now we are averaging 70's but in the winter it will go down into the 30's.

Getting really excited about Hawaii. I think I am more excited to see my Mom's face when she watches her first sunset. She was a little freaked out about the earthquake but she is Ok now. They had been having pretty bad weather over there too. I hope it doesn't rain the whole time we are there. I can take one or two days but not a whole week.

So how's everyone's holiday shopping going? I have started but have to put a list together to make sure I don't forget anyone. My Mom and sister were easy this year because I paid for stuff we are going to do in Hawaii. We flew my DMIL out here in August so that was her Birthday/Christmas gift. At least those are done. OK going to go make my shopping list now. Check in later
