YIPPEE!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I just looked and DCL listed Florida resident discount rate for my cruise next month!!!! For the two rooms we have booked we will save about $2400.00
That will be enough of a refund to pay off our 3 day cruise and a good amount down on this cruise too. What a blessing for us!!!
That is all the less we have to save up for the next 2 cruises.

Just had to tell someone about our good news!!!!!

Kathy

Wow Kathy, that's amazing. I keep calling every few weeks to see if they lowered the price of our cruise. Nothing yet.

Kay, no I was sick the day before we got on the cruise. We went to Disney Studios and I could barely walk so we went back to the room. I felt so bad and then I got sick, really really sick and kept getting sick  until the next day when it was time to board. I was worried they wouldn't let me on the ship because of how bad I looked but they didn't even ask the standard illness questions. I am assuming it was food poisoning but it could have been just a stomach virus. At least I didn't get sick on this ship (even when it was rocking) I was just still not feeling too good that first day.

Not much else going on today. Just work, I'll try to check in later.

Did you both check with DCL to see if the price went down or do you use AAA or travel agents?

I checked a couple months ago, but DCL told me the price very rarely goes down - instead it increases. Sure enough the price doubled.

About the only time the price goes down is very close to sailing, IF the ship isnt full and they are trying to fill the ship.

It does go steadily up. That is why we book as far out as we can, then we sit back and watch the price climb up, so we begin to feel better about what we paid. By the time the cruise arrives we realized what a good bargain we got.
For the resident rates you have to call and ask, usually 6 weeks before the cruise is when they will have them. They dont have them every time, just sometimes. They wont advertise any discounts, you always have to call and ask.

Hi everyone,
well Friday is here at last!!!

I wanted to tell everyone that although it wont affect our cruise ,DCL is making some major changes on the Wonder for entertainment which I feel are BAD for us, good for them.
Let me explain.
On the Wonder there will NO longer be a house band, which means, NO live music at the sailaway party, NO live music in Wave bands club.
There will be a duo and a piano player in the Promenade lounge.
I feel DCL is just trying to save a buck at our expense!!!

if I wanted to listen to a DJ and CD's I could do that at home.
anyway I do cruise on the Wonder and this has me very mad at DCL for going cheap on me!! We are still paying the same price which will go up each year, it always does. I have never complained about the price, no one twisted my arm to cruise DCL. We do it because we love DCL and still do, but I think it is very WRONG of them to do this to everyone.

so I have been posting all over the place asking people to write DCL and complain about this. I hope you ladies will help me out by writing a quick note to DCL and just say, Give us our live band back!!!
If enough people do this we will get our live music back, DCL does listen to their guests.
here is where to write:
www.dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com
or go to their web site and click on contact us to respond.

i do not want you to feel pressured in any way to do this for me, I wont ask if you did or didnt, but I would appreciate it and please spread the word to anyone who may be taking a cruise if you get the chance.
THANKYOU!!!!

well we have another beautiful day here, I just have to go to the pharmacy and get a few groceries. Not sure what we will do this wekend. I know we need to give Minnie a bath at Petco. Hopefully we will go to WDW or the movies one day too.

I will check back later to see how everyone is doing.
Lets here is you have any plans for the weekend.
Kathy

Hi everyone!

TGIF! It's been a busy week and I'm ready for the weekend. We don't have too many plans this weekend. I do need to make sure my house in in tip top shape because my aunt and uncle, from Ohio, will be coming over on Monday night. I haven't seen them in at least 12 years, so it will be fun seeing them again.

I'm going to try to my dd and my haircut this weekend and maybe we'll go to a corn maze. They wanted to go last weekend when we picked out our pumpkins, but it was too cold and rainy.

Christine - I don't know how I missed your reply to my question on you being sick, but I did. Sorry about that. I can't imagine being sick on vacation, let alone a boat. You must have been miserable.

Kathy - Do you think if they make these changes on the Wonder that these changes will flow over to the Magic?

Right now, I'm surfing the net trying to figure out a trip over Thanksgiving. It looks like all the on-site hotel at DW are booked, so I'm expanding my search.

Hi Kay,
They did make a couple changes to the Magic too. But they didnt take away anything. The house band there will break down and 2 of them will be the duo in the Promenade lounge and will play at other events around the ship.

So we do still have the live music. I hope it stays that way!!

if enough people complain to DCL about the Wonder then they wont try it on the Magic. That is another good reason to take 2 minutes to write DCL about this.
I have had good responses but I need a couple hundred more letters, so please if you are thinking of writing even if it's just to make sure it doesnt happen to us next year, please do write!!! Every letter counts!!

Have a great friday the 13th everyone!!!!

Kathy

Thanks for the info Kathy. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Hopefully Friday the 13th doesn't mean I'll be sitting in a traffic jam on my way home tonight :moped:

It's been pretty quiet today, maybe that means everyone took the day off...

Off to do some more browsing :surfweb:

Well I am saying an early good night to all.
We have been invited to the boss's house for a visit this evening and I'm not sure when we will get home.
I will check back in tomarrow and see that everyone made it through Friday 13th. :wizard:

Hello everyone :cool1: It's Friday.

Not much planned for this weekend. We might go to the Bellagio tomorrow night but other than that I am going to stay home and start packing for Hawaii, only 4 weeks left. I love to pack so I start early and redo it a few times :confused3 .

Kay, I can’t believe all the on-site hotels are booked for Thanksgiving. I looked at the rates back in August and Pop Century was only $99 and had plenty of rooms left. That’s good to know for next year. I am going to book Pop for the two days before our cruise. I will book them as soon as I can. I think you can book 11 months out.

Did you both check with DCL to see if the price went down or do you use AAA or travel agents?

I call them up directly. I am in the habit of doing it with DL because they change their room rates so much. So far, it hasn't gone down but it hasn't gone up either. Being in the hotel industry I know rates are always changing based on availability. So you never know.

Have a good weekend everyone. :bounce:

Good morning y'all, :sunny:
well it appears we all made it through friday the 13th ok. :thumbsup2
It is nice and cool this morning so I have my windows all opened up for awhile. I love being able to do that!!!

We have no special plans either. Gonna give Minnie a bath at Petco and that is all I know for sure.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! :Pinkbounc

Good Morning!

Hope you're all doing well.

We were at DW last Thanksgiving. The beginning of the week wasn't too bad, but the closer it got to Thanksgiving, it got so crowded it wasn't any fun. MK was a nightmare!

For the cruise next year, we're leaving the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and will probably get an off-site hotel in the Orlando area. I don't think my inlaws will be up to doing parks, especially with the crowds. I think we're going to the 1900 Park Fare for Thanksgiving dinner, so I'll be anxious to make those reservations.

Last night I had my kids start the Boo'ing in our neighborhood. They were so excited when they came back. It'll be fun to see how far it spreads.

In a little while, it will be time to run our errands for the day.

Hope you have an enjoyable day!

Last night I had my kids start the Boo'ing in our neighborhood
What's booing? I've never heard of it.

Don't know what we are going to do next Thanksgiving yet. I want to be down there to get a couple of extra days vacation :cool1: . My husband's Aunt and Uncle live somewhere near Tampa so we may just skip the parks and celebrate with them, we have to just make sure they are in town. If not, I would really like to have dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. Thanksgiving is really a quiet holiday for us so it's not a big deal if we don't really do too much. The Friday after I know will be crowded too but we are planning on hitting the parks nice and early. I want to go to Animal Kingdon and go on Everest. We will go to Epcot and MK the day we get off the ship since we can only take a late flight out.

Not too much planned today. It's been raining like crazy here and is actually in the low 60's. We love it since it is something other than sun :sunny:. I got updated pictures of KC, I will try to post them later today. We are off to the movies and maybe throw some money in a slot machines.

Howdy,
i am just keeping us bumped up to page one.

It was a nice quiet day here today.
We took Minnie in for her bath, then went to wal amrt and got dh some clothes, then made biscuits and gravy for dinner, took Minnie for a 2mile walk and now I sit here with my feet up relaxing.

That was a pretty good day.
Not sure what we will do tomarrow, but I'm sure i can find some kind of trouble to get into!!

I will check in tomarrow to see how everyone is doing,

Kathy

Hi there,

Boo'ing is something I just learned about a couple years ago. Basically you take a small bag of Halloween goodies, add a Halloween poem and another piece of paper with Halloween picture on it, leave it on someone doorstep, and then ring and run. The poem explains that you should do the same thing to two or three other people in the neighborhood. You take the Halloween picture and hang it on your front door (or window) so that other people know that you've been "Boo'ed" and can pass the Halloween spirit on to others. (Hope I explained it so it makes sense).

Christine - Did you get to the movies? I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of KC.

Kathy - How is Minnie doing with her baths now?

morning all,

we are off the WDW this morning!!!

minnie has forgiven us for the bath, but now she will be mad beause we will be gone for the day.
I gave her a new rawhid chewstick to play with while we are gone.

I will check back later,

Kathy

KC at 2 weeks (she just opened her eyes). The breeder said she will start looking like a pomeranian after 4 weeks. I hope so because now she just looks like a hairy rat :rotfl2:

Kay, the movie was great. We laughed so hard. I like Boo'ing, sounds like fun for the kids without getting them into trouble.

I love the pictures!!! So cute!!!

We just got back from Magic Kingdom,
it was a beautiful day there.
They had a special Patriotic themed parade filled with families who were visiting Mk today as the year of a million dreams celebration. There was a band, pluto, daisy duck, chip and dale too. The kids were so proud to wave their flags and march along, It was really cute to watch.

Now I am putting my feet up and relaxing for awhile.

Hope everyone had a good day too!!

kathy

Good evening,

Aw, KC is too cute for words! Keep the pictures coming.

Kathy - glad to hear you had a good time at MK. My dd was saying the DW was "calling us". Hmm, wonder where she got that from :rolleyes1
