well I can tell already it will be a hot one today. Poncho will be going home this morning. My DS plane was 90 minutes late so they spent the night last night. Both dogs are pooped out after a week of playing hard.

Our only plans for the weekend is to take Minnie to Petco and use the self service bath there to bathe her. She HATES the water, but she needs the bath after being slobbered on all week by Poncho.

I will check back later.

Hope someone has a more exciting weekend than we have planned.

Does anyone remember when Karen will be back?? I am anxious to hear about her trip.

Hi!

We just got back from celebrating my brother's birthday. It was a great day. My brother proposed to his girlfriend. She was shocked and through her tears she said yes! My kids are thrilled to be getting a new aunt.

Kathy - How did your husband's birthday cake turn out?

i'm so glad the bride to be was surprized and of course she said yes, or it could be very embarassing

My cake came out great. The past two years I have had to learn how to cook and bake all over again because DH cant have sugar. So even though I have done a few cakes I always get nervous about special ones. I make everything sugar free, low fat,low cholesterol, sometimes No fat and No cholesterol if I'm lucky. But it came out very good, and that is what I wanted.

well it is late here and I'm going to go and get ready for bed. I will watch the last of the POC movie on TV while I am relaxing in bed.

Hi,

Just wanted to check in before I left for my DS's birthday party. It's been a busy day of house cleaning and getting ready for the party and I think I'm finally ready. I'll be leaving in about a half an hour to pick up the kiddos on the way to the golf course. It's been raining on and off all day, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll have sunshine for the golfing portion of the party. Otherwise, we'll be headed to a local arcade.

The party was a success. The weather held out for the most part. We had a couple showers, but it didn't last. So, the boys were able to golf. On the way home, one of they boys said they should come back on a weekend because it would be fun. High praise indeed from 13 year olds

I'm headed off to bed because I'm pretty tired. My one year old golden retriever kept me up last night. One of smoke detectors was "chirping" because the battery needed to be replaced. Every time the detector chirped, he climbed onto my bed. When I tried to show him it was okay, he'd bolt back to my bed, shaking like a leaf. It was a long night. Needless to say I ran out this morning to get a battery for the scary smoke detector.

Hi everyone,

Kay,
I have a large package of batteries for the smoke detectors so I wont have the same problem some night. I think I would just get up and unplug the old battery , then it wouldnt do anything.
We have 9 detectors in our home, so I keep a lot of batteries.

we are in for another HOT day today. I need to zip out to the bank sometime this morning, but that is it, way too hot for me by afternoon.

I am gong to spend my morning gettin gup the last of the dog hiars I hope. Poncho had some longer hair, and he shed a lot while he was here, probably from stress. I filled my vacuum cleaners holding cup every day. But didnt vacuum over the weekend, so I need to do it now and be done with it.
Minnie has super short hair and doesnt shed much, thank goodness.
well I'm off, I will check back later,

Boy this thread is quiet. I'm with Kathy, please drop in and say "hi".

Kathy - it was a good lesson for keeping batteries in the house. The weird thing was that my DH eventually got up and disconnected the whole thing from the wall and it was still going off. Ah well, at least it was quiet last night.

Today's another work day today and we're looking at weather in the low 70's. We have gorgeous blue skies with not a cloud in sight.

Does anyone know of a good place near the port to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner?

sorry I dont know about the food situation in that area. I do know to avoid the KFC in cocoa beach, it is filthy!!!
Hopefully someone else will be able to help you, if not post your question on the forum thread on the dis boards and i'm sure you will get some replies.

My dog is sleeping next to me and snoring just like my husband does at night.
Guess I'd better get use to it. Maybe I should ask Santa for some ear plugs!!!

Hi there,

It looks like we need another "bump".

Kathy - Thanks for the warning about KFC. Right now, I'm seriously considering having Thanksgiving dinner at one of Disney's hotels. I think the Grand Floridian has the prettiest dining room, so that's the one I'm leaning towards.

We're probably going to spend two days driving down because my in-laws can't drive more than 8 hours without resting. We'll leave on Wednesday and should arrive in Orlando in time for Thanksgiving dinner. So, we'll need to get a hotel room in the Orlando area on Thursday. Now to find something for everyone to do on Friday. I love planning!

there are lots of things to do in the Orlando area. I'm sure you'll be able to find something for everyone.
There is Sea world, Wonderworks, Universal Studios, Gatorland, WDW, Kennedy Space Center, The Holy Lands, and a few more things.

Hello, I'm back from Disneyland. We had a great time and it kept our minds off of missing Pompom but it was hard when we got back. Stitch is starting to realize she's not around too. He was kind of depressed when we picked him up from the Vet. It was his first time there by himself. We are working with a breeder to get another pom. She is expecting a few litters in the next few weeks so hopefully Stitch will have a new sister soon.

We got our pirate ears at Disneyland. I got my husband the one with the red bandana and I got the one with a pink bandana (kids size but fortunately I have a small head ) I wanted to get my husband fake pirate hair but he refused to wear it so I wasn't going to waste $22. Oh well, I have a year to work on that. The park was so crowded but we did get to do all the rides and lots of shopping. I got two new Disneyland shirts, one has a picture of the castle and fireworks and it has lots of glitter on it (the more sparkles the better) and the other one says pirate princess and has a skull, pretty dark for Disney but I love it. I might even wear it to work on Friday. We did get to see the new pirates rides. The sound is great. The Jack Sparrow character doesn't really add much to the ride except for the wait. I couldn't believe how long the line was. My husband was kind of upset because Pirates was always a ride we could go on with almost no wait. There was over an hour wait on Saturday, good thing we went on Friday.

Sorry, have to get back to work, been busy since I have been back. Will check in tomorrow.

it sounded like you had a great time. I have heard about the terrible lines at disneyland. I think in an earlier post I referred to you as by the wrong name, sorry about that.
Sometimes I get confused because I have 3 cruises booked and I post on all 3 cruise meets threads. So sometimes I get names wrong. SORRY!!!

Can't wait to see your pictures when you get the chance.

Hi all!!

I am home (missing the Magic terribly) and already very much looking forward to going back with all of you.

We had a truly magical time.

Seven days of sunshine and completely smooth water. Almost too smooth for me as I was looking for a little excitement.

We are officially booked now!!

DH, DD14, DD13, DS12 and I will all be sharing two cat8s: 7504/7506. We really liked the front of ship as we enjoy the walk (our only exercise all trip) to the drink station several times each day ... and we are close to shows and bingo!!

I need to get so much done tonight but I will pop in tomorrow to catch up with everyone.
