Welcome back Karen,
Glad you had a good time. :woohoo: I am looking forward to hearing all about it when you've got all settled in again.

It is cloudy here today but still suppose to hit 90 :sunny:

It's pretty quiet other than that, I will chck back later to see what's happening here,

Kathy

Welcome back Christine & Karen!

Christine - Glad you had a good time in DL. If it makes you feel any better, there's no way my DH would wear fake pirate hair either. :rotfl2:

We were in WDW in August and loved all the changes they made to the POC ride (Well, I mostly loved the changes. Who could go wrong with Johnny Depp  ) It was worth the wait. Wouldn't want to wait that long next time, but I imagine the hoopla will die down a bit.

Good luck in getting your new puppy! Let us know when he/she arrives.

Karen - Your cruise sounds fun. It looks like we're on the same deck. I think we're in the 7100's (I'll have to check tonight). I see your DS is 12. My DS turned 13 today, so maybe they'll be able to hang out on board.

It's a slow at work today, so I'll check in later.

Hello everyone

I should know by this weekend about my new puppy. We want another girl so that's why it's taking so long. The breeder has a few that have just been born and is expecting a new litter this weekend. We will make our decision after that. We won't be able to get her until after we get back from Hawaii.

Glad you had a great vacation Karen. Did you take lots of picutres for us? Can't wait to see them.

I think in an earlier post I referred to you as by the wrong name, sorry about that.

No worries Kathy, I can't imagine keeping up with so many posts. See you do have a full time job, keeping all your posts bumped up :rotfl:

TTFN :tinker:

Howdy,
well it stayed a very quiet day around here today. I did a little grocery shopping and that was it. :rolleyes1
Minnie is starring out the front window watching for DH to come home. Going to have taco salad tonight :stir: I think. I need to use up leftover taco meat from the other day.
Hope everyone had a good day today, :thumbsup2

Kathy

Good morning to all,
well we had a cooler evening, only in the 60's which is nice. ;)
But back up to the 90's again today. :sunny:

Have a great day and hopefully you vacation people will have some pictures for us soon!!!

Kathy

Hello,

It's another quiet day at work, so I thought I check in and see how everyone was doing.

Christine - What island are you visiting in Hawaii? We went to Oahu on our honeymoon and my DH wants to go back one to one of the other islands. You must be so excited!

Hi , pretty quiet here too. :guilty:

My other cruise thread broke the 3000 posts today. Our goal before the cruis eis 4000 posts, I think we will make it. We cruise 11/25 and there are a lot of people posting there.

I know we will make that many here too by the time the cruise arrives. we have a lot already.

well have a great afternoon everyone, :goodvibes

Kathy

Kay, we are going to Oahu. I have been to Maui and the Big Island so I wanted to go somewhere different. Mom and sister are coming with us. It will be their first time to Hawaii. I am starting to get really excited. Being the crazy planner that I am I already have all 7 days planned :) I made my Mom a guide book with all the things we are going to be doing, she loved it. Right now I have planned Pearl Harbor, All-Day Snorkel Cruise, Private Island Tour and Snorkleing at Hanauma Bay. My friend just got back and said it was an hour wait to eat anywhere with reservations so I know where we will eat each night. I am going to start making reservations next week.

Not feeling to good today  I think all the stress from last week is catching up plus I am sure all the germs in DL didn't help ;) Going to leave work early today and go to sleep. I have to be heathly for this weekend. My husband has a very large catering order so I have to work on Saturday. He has a lot of people coming in just to get it all done in time.

I'll check in tomorrow.

TTFN

Good idea to tak eit easy for a few hours. Vacations can wear you down when they are busy ones like DL.
Hope you get soem good rest.

Never been to Hawaii, but my brother was there for 2 years in the Navy so have seen many pictures.

I will check back tomarrow too,
have a good evening everyone,

Kathy

Happy Friday everyone!! :goodvibes

Have a great day. :thumbsup2

Any special plans this weekend?? :confused3

nothing going on here this weekend, at least not at this point. :guilty:

Kathy

Didn't make it to work today. I slept until 1:30 and then got something to eat. Starting to feel a little better but still not that good. I have a real nasty head cold. I will stay in the rest of the night and hopefully feel Ok tomorrow. Not much planned this weekend other than working at the Pizza Place tomorrow and clean my house on Sunday. We are try not to go out too much because we need to save money for Hawaii. It seem everytime we walk out of the house money just disappears :confused3 I should know about our new puppy this weekend and hopefully have some pictures to show everyone. Well I think I am going to catch up on all my TiVo'd stuff. I'll check in tomorrow. :bounce:

Good Morning,
well i hope your cold is better today. ;)

Please do let us know about the puppy and I am anxious to see pictures as soon as you feel up to posting them.

No real plans this weekend, going to buy some red mulch to dress up the flower beds some. Maybe go to Epcot for the food and wine festival one day, but it will depend because DH wasnt feeling too good last night and he is still asleep.
I will check back later to see if others post today. :rolleyes1

we have a lot of you guys who I know are reading our posts but havnt joined in for quite awhile, we miss you, please drop us a quick note to say hi.

Kathy

Just got back from helping out with my husband's catering order. Wow that food looked so good. It's a good thing I don't work there or I would be as big as a house :rotfl: When I got home I noticed a bunch of ants in our backyard when I went to take a closer look I realized our entire backyard is infested with them. We have an exterminator but all he is able to do is kill the ones in our yard. I guess our neighbors don't have an exterminator so they just hang out by their house until all the ant bait it gone and come back to visit us. I just hosed down the whole wall and it took out most of them. I was wondering why Stitch didn't want to go outside and now I know why. I hate ants. I will have to search on the internet to see the best why to get rid of them. There has to be some kind of home remedy. Oh and by the way it's still over 100 degrees here  We had one week where it went down into the 90's but it's hot again. Hopefully by Wednesday is should start getting cool. Oh and we are expecting 1/10 of an inch of rain on Monday :confused3 Can you believe that's what the weather people said? We have such bad weather people here but not as bad as the ones in Florida, Am I right Kathy? At least it always seems that way when we visit. OK, I going to lay down now, I've had a busy day and I still don't feel 100%.

Good Morning! :wave2:

Christine - I hope you're feeling better. We you able to find an answer to the ant problem?

Kathy - Did you make it to Epcot?

Yesterday we left the house at 8:30 a.m. We went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival and then to my dh's cousin's house. He lives right on the bay, so it was about a two hour ride each way. We didn't get home til 9:30 last night. It was a long day, but it was fun.

Not sure what's happening today. My dh & ds are leaving for the Redskins game in about 45 minutes. My dd is outside playing with a new puppy one of her girlfriends just got, so I'm not sure I'm going to be able to pry her away long enough to go grocery shopping. :goodvibes

I'll try to check back in later today

Howdy everyone,
well we didnt make it to Epcot, I started not feeling well, so we decided not to go, today I still dont feel good, so just staying home. But the festival goes for a few weeks, so we will get to see it later.

Wow, Reno is really cooling off :rotfl2:

we are still hitting 90 most days, :sunny: but it is less humidity right now, which is great. Nights have been a little cooler.

After 5 months of posting on 4 boards I finally have one family join me for our 4/5/07 3 day cruise. I was so happy when they posted this morning!!! I have been bumping up all those threads everyday for 5 months. Nobody onthe dis board post yet, but someday there will be!!! :thumbsup2

Well I'm gonna put my feet up and relax, will check back later this afternoon, after I watch Toy Story. Love those shows!!! It's the kid in me I guess??

Kathy

Just stopping by to say good night everyone,
I am off to bed a little early tonight, hope I can sleep.

Have a great evening everyone, :grouphug:

Kathy

Sorry you're not feeling well Kathy. There must be something going around.

Just got back from shopping with my friend and her daughter for a homecoming dress. They get really dressed up now. When I was in school we didn't even go to the homecoming dance. As I was shopping I was looking at all different kinds of dresses and I thought about the cruise and formal night. Kathy, how dressed up does everyone really get for formal night? I would love to get a gown but don't really want to be too over dressed.

OK, back to resting up before I have to get back to work tomorrow.

Happy Monday,
I never wear a gown but lots do. It is about 50/50 for people wearing gowns or just a very nice dress or pant suit.
Most people who want to dress really formal request Lumiere's and Tritons for foraml night, depending on the ship.
You will see long formals, lots of jewelry, nice pant suits, usually dark colors, and you will see people in jeans, on formal night too.

I have a dark blue velveteen dress that comes just above my knees that I usually wear and I fit in just fine. You can pretty much dress as you want and you wont feel out of place.
In August when we cruised we were in Lumiere's on formal night and saw a man in a plain white t-shirt, stripped shorts, everyone else was in formal dress at his table. I felt sorry for his wife. Shorts arnt allowed anytime in the dining rooms, but they dont enforce it.

bottom line, if you want to wear along formal you will fit right in, or dress less formal and still fit right in, it is up to you. You will see it all on board,

Kathy

Hope everyone is feeling 100% today. Two of my coworkers are sick, so there is definitely something going around.

I ended up taking my dd to a local October Fest yesterday where she painted a pumpkin. Then we picked up some Halloween decorations. I had high hopes of decorating my house yesterday, but it didn't happen. Instead, I got caught up on my ironing...oh what fun.

Christine - Do you think you'll end of getting an evening gown for formal night? I don't have the opportunity to dress up often, so I'm going for it. In fact, I found a gown, at Marshall's for my dd. It reminds me to the color of Belle's gown. It was only $30, so I bought it. I was going to save it as a surprise, but I showed it to her a month ago. She tried it on and didn't want to take it off.

Thanks for the advice Kathy. I was wondering what color gown I should get and it sounds like a darker color is in order
