Hi all!

Sorry I've been MIA as of late -- had a few things going on here.

Last week my favorite uncle lost a 30+ month battle with pancreatic cancer. He lived in Nebraska and one or both of my parents had spent the past 2+ years going out there to drive him to his chemo treatments or take him to doctor appointments, etc., etc. Good thing they're retired and have nothing better to do than drive 500 miles on a moment's notice.

Needless to say, it was a great loss. It was a bit crazy with funeral planning, traveling to funeral, and coming home to make sure the parents' farm was o.k. Oh, and I lost my voice the day after the funeral -- after I had to read a eulogy.

On a happier note, we also got together with DH's brother & wife and went to the Brewers/Cubs game - the one the Cubs actually won!

Things are getting back to normal, so thought I better check in & say "hi"!

Hi Cheri,
Glad things are getting back to normal. Funerals can be a big strain on the entire family.

We are getting back to much drier and warmer weather today.
I finished spring house cleaning in all the downstiars rooms.

Now I need to start the upstairs I am still debating if i will start it today or tomarrow

I hate to clean, but love the results of how my house looks when it's all done.

A blonde goes into the beauty and hair parlor with her walkman on her head.

"I need to take that walkman off your head," says the beauty specialist as she notices the blonde.

"You can't! I'll die!" retorts the blonde.

"I can't cut your hair with the walkman on your ears!" says the beauty specialist getting annoyed.

"I said you can't take it off, or I'll die!"

The beauty specialist, outraged and flustered, grabs the walkman and throws it off the head of the blonde. Within seconds, the blonde dies. When the specialist picks up the walkman to listen, she hears it repeating "breath in, breath out, breath in".

Hey all....Found a few minutes to be able to catch up on some of the thread and to post a few words. Our Jetta is sick again-urinating tiny bits after sitting in the pan for 15 mins at a shot and only blood tinged urine comes out. Back on the antibiotics--just a reminder this is the "free" cat my daughter got 5 years ago that has cost us over a $1000.00 up to now--and NO I wouldn't trade her (the cat) or (my DD) for the world.

Well, we survived the Nor'easter-tons and tons of rain and high winds-flooding everywhere-many roads closed-schools had to close too. I sent DS out yesterday afternoon in the rain to take mail-my income tax payment--yes yes I know...last minute and all...and guess what!?! The driver's side window wouldn't go back up --had to rig up a tarp over the door to keep the inside of the car from getting soaked. Took it to the dealer this morning...wonder what that is going to cost??

Shell-thanks for the updated list-excited to see there are a few teens maybe my kids can hook up with at the Stack..

Knocking on wood that everything is placid here and nothing's broken except still b's ankle - still can't get a sh oe on it but at least he's not costing me money! <knock><knock><knock>

Hi, everyone!

I've been away for a while but the new cruise list reminded me that I need to come over and say "hi!" again. A big "welcome" to all of the new members!
I am going to try my best to go back through some of the recent message to catch up a bit. The biggest news here is that Jason lost his first tooth Easter Sunday!

Does everyone know where they are staying the night before the cruise? Should I be concerned about booking a room in the near future? This is our first cruise so I can use any tips and advice! I think I have the hotel narrowed down to a few choices but I would like to know what everyone else recommends before I make a reservation.

Spring has sprung again in Michigan. Hopefully to stay awhile this time. It is suppose to rain tomorrow but be 70 by this weekend. Have gotten a chance to rake a couple times. Taking the oak leaves out of the flower beds. Boy, the shoulders hurt...I guess I'm using the muscles I haven't used all winter.

After the soccer game and baseball pictures on Saturday morning, I'm hoping to get the basketball hoop set up for the season.

Kathy, look forward to seeing your bedroom when you are done with it!
