Hope this helps you some.

Bill I love your magnet...that's great!

Kim - I would like to know please:goodvibes Would love to stay in Savanah view room at AK...

Has anyone here stayed there before?

Jaime
Yep we have stayed at AKL before and had a savannah view. We actually booked standard and were upgraded at check in. It was 2 years ago and I think they were having trouble selling rooms at the hotel then and we got an incredible rate of something like $107 per night for standard view using an annual pass discount. The savannah view as cool. We had giraffes come very close to our balcony. I really liked the AKL - just wish it was within walking or monorail distance of a park. Not a fan of the buses. We're going in January and can't decide on resorts. Booked GF but kinda wanted contemporary - have never stayed at either. Still considering AKL because the last time we were there it was in January and there was just something very nice and cozy about it. Anyway, you will love it. I think it is the best bargain of all the deluxes for sure.

I have watched this twice now and I think it is one of the funniest shows I've seen on TV in a while. We dont' watch dtws in our house (thank God) so while I can never watch it live, I have DVRd it the last 2 weeks and think it's a scream. Truly a laugh out loud kind of tv show.

Rick thanks for the update on Okie. Good luck tomorrow.

My door sign is made will take pictures and download them tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone. See you in the morning.

Dawn

Finally got around to catching up on the boards and posting. Just finished a monster writing project - a strategic PR plan for my newest client that i had a tough time wrapping my brain around for about 4 days:surfweb: but once i finally got into it, i was able to fly through a 12 page document in just a couple of hours. Now it needs to sit overnight before I review it closely and make some tweaks before sending to client. I'm pretty relieved I finally got it to this point :yay: since I promised it by end of day tomorrow. Just like college...cutting it close. :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Okie - I hope you are feeling better. Josh and Rick - take good care of her!

Uh Jeff? That's no excuse for not posting your HS picture as promised!

Hi Okie!!! :wave2: Don't ever scare US like that again!

Uh Jeff? That's no excuse for not posting your HS picture as promised!

i know i know. I'm just so happy i'm done with this phase of the project that I think I'm going to play a bit tomorrow..so I'll definitely find the photo if it lives in my house.

hmmm ... well, maybe you were really just too busy lurking and causing trouble! :rolleyes1

Rachel finished our magnet and she's in charge of photos and uploads... guess it will be tomorrow. I've stayed at the Grand Floridian a couple of times but my heart belongs to AKL, in fact I bought a DVC there. I too wish it were closer to the parks but when we are there, we relax and enjoy the feeling of AFrica... especially the animals!
I've also stayed in Downtown Disney, it was okay for a quick stay and a day there is better that a day in a hotel on International Drive! You can take advantage of the transport system, too.
Night all, I am tired and don't seem to be able to kick this cough, guess I'll get a dose of House and see you all in the morning!

I'm glad you get it, too! My DH is a big old nerd engineer and DD wants to be a space engineer. And then there's me...:rotfl: :rotfl: That show just cracks us up every week.

Let me see if I can catch up...Kathy, I do remember the good old hippie days...oh, well, maybe parts of it! :hippie: Straight, flat hair, frayed bell bottoms with giant belt buckles, fringed "stash" bags and moccasins. Lots of braiding, bloodshot eyes and embroidery. I seem to recall drawing a lot of polka dotted mushrooms in eighth grade. (I was a jr. hippie.) Perhaps I should be princess emeritus of the nanas.

This is when you know you are old...a former student sent me flowers on the 25th anniversary of our meeting...on her 38th birthday! Two of my student teachers were former students. Of course, working with middle schoolers is great...they either think I'm 22 or 64. :lmao: Obviously, I'm younger when they are in trouble.

As far as big hair, I was teaching high school when 80's spritz came out and big hair came in. I remember a kid saying that the sides of my hair "looked just like a cobra" because I sprayed it to stand away from my cheeks. :rotfl2: Very attractive, I know. Oh, yes, and the stand straight up rooster bangs were really cute.:lmao:

I'm so excited about the cruise! I'm making myself clean out the closet so I'll have a holding zone for all the stuff Judy and I have collected. Britney, I might need to borrow that mean old bodyguard who said all those bad things about you. I getting scared to go back in the closet...the mess is growing. And, yes, the builder OBVIOUSLY built the area entirely too small.

Have a great night, nanas!

PS...Okie, I know the Disney cruise feature will make you feel better. Please rest for a while...you'll need your energy to keep up with the nanas in a few short weeks!

Hi everybody-thanks for all the warm wishes, prayers, and pixie dust. I woke up on Monday with a tingling face-kinda like I had just had novacaine-and tingling in my right hand and forearm. Also lost my peripheral vision in my right eye. Doctor made me go to the ER-I went kicking and screaming of course as any good nurse would do:rolleyes1 CT scan of my head and MRI/MRA of my head were all normal-saw a neurologist that said it could be a 'migraine syndrome'-what ever the heck that is:confused: . But before we know for sure, I have to see an opthomologist tomorrow-could also be a detatched retina or an optic nerve clot or something (gosh I hope she doesn't stick a needle or something in my eye  ).....OK, OK...most of my friends and Rick think it is mostly from STESS...yes...I'm under a little bit of it right now with mom and dad sick.......the best cure I had today was....The Travel Channel's Disney Cruise video:banana: .....ah.....hot tub and a frozen kalua and cream...with a cherry on top:love: The numbness in my face and hand/arm is gone-my vision is still missing though...very annoying:mad:

On a brighter note....I have a wedding picture of Rick and I and my dress looks almost identical to Melanie's:yay: ....can't wait to show you...did you have a hoop under your dress?? I did...and was a bad bride too...made all my bridesmaids wear hoops too......they LOVED me :rotfl2:

Okie-Glad to see your sense of humor remains intact..............hope all turns out alright.

Judy - Tell me about the GF. We almost always stay at the Poly when we stay at a monorail resort...but we wanted a change and I've always lusted after the GF. Though I had always heard only good, I read today on the resorts board a long thread about people who hated the GF and now I'm scared. :scared1:

Tell me what you think.

Okie! Glad to see you're posting. I sure hope its nothing serious and that you'll be perfect for the trip. We really missed you in 06 and we're counting on a "non-anti-social" Okie and Co. this time around. Besides, I need Josh as a side kick to keep me in line---the kid reminds me of my nephew Pat, he even looks a little like him.
Anyways...I know most of you have seen these way too many times but I'll post them to give the newbies an idea of what we've done in the past.
I dont know if I'm gonna do new ones or not--I may just to make those last 45 days go quicker.

Those are fantastic, Bill!! what talent.

Despite my day from he#@ dealing with the state department, I managed to get over to the new Target tonight about 5:30. It was just what I needed....they had all sorts of appetizers and desserts, free Starbucks pumpkin latte samples, goodie bags full of all sorts of health & beauty products from the pharmacy department, face painting for the kids, and a few other fun surprises. It was really fun! Plus I found several of the new Cars die cast collectible cars that just came out and are impossible to find. It was well worth the trip.

A really terrific worker from my state representative's office is helping me with the passport issue. I had to spend all day on the phone with a slew of other people before I found her but she's very good and is doing her best to help. She said it's very doubtful that the application will ever be found so we need to reapply...and quickly. She said she will do her best to get some of the fees reimbursed and she has a contact person in New Orleans who will expedite the application. The bigger issue is that I am very concerned that my son's original birth certificate, his ss# and his photos have mysteriously disappeared. There were a total of 7 applications sent from the post office that day and his is the only one missing. Factor in our frequently-mistaken-for-mexican last name and I can't help but think that some formerly-illegal alien child has now assumed his identity. The state rep said that is a very legitimate concern which did not make me feel any better. sigh.

Anyway, enough rambling...it's been a very long day...i'm calling it a night.

okie-glad to see you posting.

today was an easy day because i did all my chores BEFORE i got on the computer...........my mom feels so good that a i have acomplished that.......you kno what i am going to do that every day from now on....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
