Let me see if I can catch up...Kathy, I do remember the good old hippie days...oh, well, maybe parts of it!

Straight, flat hair, frayed bell bottoms with giant belt buckles, fringed "stash" bags and moccasins. Lots of braiding, bloodshot eyes and embroidery. I seem to recall drawing a lot of polka dotted mushrooms in eighth grade. (I was a jr. hippie.) Perhaps I should be princess emeritus of the nanas.
This is when you know you are old...a former student sent me flowers on the 25th anniversary of our meeting...on her 38th birthday! Two of my student teachers were former students. Of course, working with middle schoolers is great...they either think I'm 22 or 64.

Obviously, I'm younger when they are in trouble.
As far as big hair, I was teaching high school when 80's spritz came out and big hair came in. I remember a kid saying that the sides of my hair "looked just like a cobra" because I sprayed it to stand away from my cheeks.

Very attractive, I know. Oh, yes, and the stand straight up rooster bangs were really cute.
I'm so excited about the cruise! I'm making myself clean out the closet so I'll have a holding zone for all the stuff Judy and I have collected. Britney, I might need to borrow that mean old bodyguard who said all those bad things about you. I getting scared to go back in the closet...the mess is growing. And, yes, the builder OBVIOUSLY built the area entirely too small.
Have a great night, nanas!
PS...Okie, I know the
Disney cruise feature will make you feel better. Please rest for a while...you'll need your energy to keep up with the nanas in a few short weeks!
