Howdy all. Did my SAT's today, oh yeah :woohoo: :woohoo: . I had a headache a few hours after taking the exam (believe me, it's NOT a test, its an exam).

So let me tell you of the horrific events leading up to the exam... I got up at six this morning, took a shower, got dressed, had about a half a cup of coffee :coffee: , and gathered some things for the trek to the High School. I actually had to take it in a high school 40 minutes away. I get in my car and drive off.
I get 10 minutes into the journey when I realize... I dont have my admission ticket. [Sigh] so... I had to trek all the way back home, kicking myself along the way. I get to the exit that takes my off the bypass. As I do, I realize my GAS is too low to make it to my house and back to the testing area.
I go to the gas station, fill my tank up $5 worth, then go to my house. I rush in, get my ticket and head back out.
In all, I was 5 minutes LATE to my exam. Luckily for me, so was the administrators and proctors at the high school.

I believe I did better than my last SAT exam, which I took back in March (if anyone remembers that...)

So that should've been my last MAJOR obsticle before... ah, you know... pirate:

Thanks Kathy, I guess I'll get the scores beofre the cruise.
Speaking of which, we'll have to start chatting to exceed 10000 posts, but I dont believe that'll be a problem for now... popcorn::

Sharon, your porch is FABULOUS!

Britney, love the idea for the Nana Nation to get rich.

Judy, Sarah, and I are thinking about going out for a meal. As I type, Judy is yelling at her dog who is standing in the laundry basket in the car. Of course, this is on top of her formal dress.:lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

Yeah my dog went down the hall last week with Alicia new Bell dress...of course with Alicia chasing him....yelling give me back my dress!

Hi all, just a quick hi.. kickoff is in 1 hour and I will be off the rest of the night pacing and screaming at my TV:rotfl2:

Hi all!!

I know it is last minute, but we are thinking of changing our plans and booking our excursions directly through Disney...has anyone done the Island Drive & Explorer Cruise in St Maarten or the St. Maarten Island and Butterfly World Tour (also in St Maarten)? If we do one of these, I'm guessing they would drop us back off at the cruise terminal...is the cruise terminal somewhere near Phillipsburg or the beach (so we would be able to go to the beach or shop after)? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated - hope everyone is having a great day!!

Go Rockies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not much help with this but asked a similar question earlier and was told that we could get a water taxi from the cruise port and go to the beach/shopping area...I believe Jeff posted some nice pictures a while back of the beach...I thought reading it was $5 return for the water taxi...we decided we'll just do that for the day instead of doing any tour...

Jen,

We did the Island Drive and Explorer drive last year.

The drive part was boring to us but we have seen most of the island before.
The boat ride to Marigot was fun, we had music and a live entertsiner who sand and danced around. he joked with all the guests and was GREAT!! He was the best part of the excursion in my opinion. free glasses of coke products were offered of course a tip cup was set out.
For the best time sit on the upper level, that is where the entertainer spends 99% of his time. There were a few nice views along the way too.

Marigot to us was very EXPENSIVE!!! all the buildings were filled with jewelry stores and I wasnt out to buy jewelry. I know there are other stores there but that seemed to be mostly what it was. Traffic was aweful so very hard to get across the streets to shop. If you walk about 10 blocks down towards the bay area they have what they call a flea market which is merchants in tented areas selling things. they were a bit cheaper but th emain shopping area of St. maartin was much better pricing and bigger selection of merchandise. One dirty, unstocked bathroom near flea market and they wanted a tip to use it when I went here (on a trip 3 years ago) dont know if they still ask a tip.

The ride back was nice, then the bus was ok but the traffic was so bad we got back just at the latest time we were told to be back on by. I know they will wait but that was TOO close for me.

So if you just want to shop at St. Maartin I would suggest taking the water taxi to the main shopping area. $5 for all day trips back and forth for that price or you can take a 20 minute walk to the same area

also if you just want to sit and relax by the water some, where you get off the water taxi there are nice small beaches both directions that are shallow ocean, nice clean white sand. They do charge a small amount to rent chairs and umbrellas. They often have someone walking by to sell you drinks too The shopping is right behind you, so you can have the best of both worlds in one location. You can even see the ship from the beach there. food is available right there too.

DD did the butterfarm tour and they loved it. they had some time for shopping but not sure about it. Just know they loved the farm and the kids had a blast there.

Well, I'm glad everyone liked the idea. Sounds like we're all onboard. Robin, get those stories ready.........

Spent the dat at the Fall Festival at DS's school. Got some great deals at their Silent Auction, stayed away from the baked goods, DH spent a glorious hour in the dunk tank.......:lmao: Then, it was off to a B-Day party.

Exhausted, that's what I am.

Jaime-I'm going to give Jeff the pleasure of explaining The Terrible Towel to you...........

Mel-The only problem with you being Angelina, is now that you're over your wild woman loving, blood wearing days; you're such a do gooder. With our lives so dysfunctional we'll have to hate you:confused3 BTW-tells us once and for all..........are you pregnant or not?

Shell-what in the world have you been up to today GF? I missed hearing from you:sad1:

Wendy-My DH says LSU can't carry USC's jockstraps............:confused3
Sounds like fightin' words to me.:sad2:

Off to spend some quality time with my DVR............

Night, night everyone

It's a late post for me... waiting to gopick up RAchel at our city's Riverfest celebration with Fireworks over the river, very nice but with no "WISHES" piped in, fireworks are just not the same.
Spent some quality time today with the DVR catching up on last week's shows.
Started to plan our door magnet today... ran out of letters for the names soI will have to finish tomorrow...:woohoo:
Can't wait to sit dface to face and share stories....
The days to go on my ticker are getting smaller and smaller!
Night all....
Judy

Jaimie...what is saltmeat???

Boy..I don't think I can offer anything with my job for the nanahead plan:sad2: ...I'm a nurse.

Got home from work tonight and my DD decorated the whole house for halloween:woohoo: ...I didn't even know we owned half of these decorations:lmao: .

49 days...I LOVE IT...my work mate leaves for the Western Disney Cruise on November 3rd-only 4 weeks left for her....I'm so jealous...we almost booked with her...glad we didn't...because I wouldn't be cruisin with you fun/crazy/fabulous/sexy people(this is refering to Bill in his snorkeling gear):lmao:

Have a great night....off to bed....12hours again tomorrow:scared:

Wendy -
It's halftime. Yikes. I've become an LSU fan just because of you...and the fact that I can't stand that smug Urban Meyer.

Thanks to both Jaime & Kathy for the tips about taking a water taxi...if these are near the cruise port, we'll just stick with that. Kathy, I'm glad you mentioned the shopping in Marigot - I'm not really looking to shop...just eat. Is Grand Case the beach to visit, or is there another better suited to families with small children? Or would we even have an option? If we do the water taxi, are there plenty of water taxis on the other side or does our same driver wait for us? Jeez...I have a lot more questions then I originally thought. I might need to sit down with a glass of wine and really get serious about my planning!:cool1:

Jen,

DD did the butterfarm tour and they loved it. they had some time for shopping but not sure about it. Just know they loved the farm and the kids had a blast there.
Kathy

There's nothing I love more than touring a butterfarm...mmm...butter. ;-)

Hey Christine ... heck of a game, huh?

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 I was hoping no one watched:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Stupid Nats.

Hey here's my picture of the day
scan002-1.jpg

Me and Joey getting ready for my prom. Check out how high I got my hair. Growing up on Long Island it was mandatory to have very high hair:scared1:

Christine-That was a gutsy photo to post. I will try and return the favor tomorrow...........How DID you get your hair that high?

Wendy-My DH has requested that I retract his earlier statement. However, I flatly refused. He just had to show his ***..........:woohoo:

The good news is; he didn't have any money on the game
:thumbsup2
