I'm a band geek, too! Marching band, symphany, 2nd chair clarinet. I never challenged for 1st chair because I didn't want to sit on the end. :rotfl2: (believe it or not, there was a time I hated drawing attention to myself).

O M G! (said in valley girl)

I played clarinet too! Except... I kinda sucked.

That's probably why I carried the flag. I wasn't even a good band-geek!

Gee Shell, I could probably distribute that as well.........However, I feel confident it would require a move to Va Beach:rolleyes1

Mel-We have here what we call Home-A-Rama. As a matter of fact, I'm going tonight. After margaritas of course......I work for commercial contractors though. Developers are notoriously SLOW to pay:lmao:

Yeah... well home builders are hurting right now... so we're having a bit of a money crunch here too...

Good morning, Kim

(And yes, even Jeff's clients could necessitate a move ... I'm willing at this point! Tired of sliding on ice and getting lake-effect snow. In the words of Danny Glover, "I'm getting too old for this sh**"!)

I understand. As stated before, much of my family are Michiganders. You great lakes folks take the brunt of it!

MEL! I keep forgetting ... weren't you the one that said you've watched Band of Brothers? If so, did you read my avatar?? Do you get it??

Oh ya! Right away. I thought it was obvious.

That was really a good series!

Mel-I bet you looked cute in your skirt though. Shell-Did you wear a skirt?
Hey-let's post some HS pictures tonight. Oh, go ahead.............Just Do IT

Shell-Bring on any ideas you have dear. I ready, willing and able...............I HAVE A DREAM

Well, golly gee whiz Mel..........I just happen to have a friend that puts out a publication down at the Oceanfront. It isn't building, but it would get ya' out of the snow...............

Let's all move to Va Beach. We could build our own office building and everyone could network................Man, I'm brilliant!!!!!!! Brilliant I tell ya'

This is turning into something freakin' flippin' fantastic!

When I lived in north east and north central Iowa the snow and cold were much worse. But here in the Omaha area it's really not too bad. I've lived here for 10 years now and they do get snowstorms occasionally, but nothing compared to what we got up further north.

I remember a huge ice storm / blizzard in Fremont -- I think it was Halloween 1991. Halloween had to be re-scheduled.

Our cross country coach actually took us out to run in it and the van kept getting stuck! :rotfl: :rotfl:

In four years, we ran inside ONCE!!! And it wasn't the day we had -40 wind chills!!! :cold: I have a picture of three of us on the front page of the paper to prove it!!!

Trey could take out a full page color ad for his line of Disney speedos.............:lmao:

Of course you're going to post that picture later huh...?

There was a really bad ice storm the first year I moved here, 1997. A lot of people in Omaha didn't have power for a week! It's not that it never gets cold or storms, it's just that it's so much less than what I experienced "up north".

Cheri-Don't forget to tell us what you do. Even if you already did. Blonde, remember?

Jaime-Have you ever done the Polar Expedition, or whatever it's called? I would love to do that with Jacob one time............

i thought you were going to work! :rotfl2:

I have to head to a meeting with a designer then a new client meeting. Woo hoo.

Here's a question for everyone:

If you work outside the home, what do you do?

I dont' work outside the home as my office is in my home. :rotfl2: But I have my own Public Relations and Writing consultancy. Started my own business about 2 years ago (on the 17th of this month) after 25 years of corporate drudgery. Best thing I ever did.

So what exactly does your job entail??

I work with Bill for an insurance company -- it's based in Bloomington, IL (just like State Farm), but unlike them, we aren't in every state. We're mostly in the midwest and western states, but expanding eastward. Anyway, we sell all lines of business.

After Jess was born, we were able to do some finagling so I can work from home most days of the week. I mainly work with auto & home insurance and spend most of my time trying to save our clients money!! (That's why we can't afford these cruises!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

Many of our clients are former students & co-workers so it's kind of neat to keep in touch with them.

Bill is actually working from home today -- one of the perks of being semi-self-employed!!!:thumbsup2

Sorry to bore you all to tears. . .:lmao:
