Oh... Okay, but sheesh, that party was hot... literally. We could see you, Bill and Shell. We were on the other side of the atrium on the fifth deck.

And... I just found this one. It's at Disney MGM after the cruise, but it's just so cute. Alex didn't want to stop hugging JoJo. He keep going back in for more hugs. We finally had to pull him away because other kids were waiting.

Um ... who are those characters:confused3 ?

:rotfl:

That's JoJo & Goliath from the Disney Channel. Their show used to be on every morning and Alex would watch it.

It's okay. If I didn't have a kid his age I would have no clue either. I can proudly say I have NEVER watched "High School Musical."

Christine: Did you notice what's missing from Kim's photo? Yep. Poofy sleeves. :rotfl2:

And thanks for posting the Maui pic. I always wanted to go there, and now I know exactly what it looks like ... inebriated ... :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yes I did notice the lack of poof :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I  Walt Disney. I was so happy I found this picture it one of my favorites.

I thought they were Rolli Polli Olie:confused3 Can you tell I don't have any kids either :cutie:

I have attemped to watch both High School Musicals and I have to say they are unwatchable. I guess I am just getting old but they are really bad. I have a feeling we will all be watching them when we get on the cruise because they play them on the Dumbtron:scared: .

OMG!! :scared1: I hadn't even thought of that.

I was one of the ones who didn't have kids for many years. I'm an "older" mommy. For years I had no clue about any of the kids stuff on t.v.! And let me tell you... ignorance is bliss:rotfl: .:lmao:

Christine,
I have the exact same photo of Walt, I almost posted it this morning.
For those who are new, look closely at the photo. Look to the left side of it in the white area.
Do you see the shadow? Do you see who is there?
AWESOME photo.

Good afternoon everyone.

Well, we're off to a good start for homework. Jacob and I both slept through the eclipse:confused3 Teachers!!!!!! I tell ya', they can come up with dumbest stuff OOPS I forgot about our beloved teachers:lmao: All of them except you:rolleyes1

Here are my questions for Day 1: Saturday

*I know I've asked before, but what time would you say we will be picked up from our WDW Resort and brought to the Terminal?
*What is the best area to view the Sailaway Party? We would like to view from a distance. We're not the "throw yourself right in with the crowd" kind of people. (Assume this is will be outside because of fabulously clear skies)
*What is the best time to try and get portrait pictures done in the evening?
*Magic Quest: For Adults-Anyone done this?
*What are you guys planning on doing the first night after dinner and shows? I'll need this info. in case I want to stalk you:rolleyes1

Kim, I can only answer one of those.... cove cafe or by the pool....ANYWHERE up on deck. And I cant remember....this IS your first time on a cruise? First time on a DCL cruise or what? Woo would tell you my mind is sharp as a pin---a bowling pin

Kathy, quite a storm brewing up on the 08 board. I think I overdid my tomfoolery hehehehe(btw...do you like my new self proclimation?...I love being the official "mutt-scot")

I wanna go NOW~

Christine - Gotta disagree re HSM movies and give you a parent's perspective on their popularity and why so many of us actually like them. With all the bad influences that kids have to look to, I am thrilled that Disney put these movies out. No cussing, no sex (except for one innocent kiss in HSM1 and one bigger kiss in HSM2), no drug or alcohol use, no inherent nastiness that is so much part of today's world. Even the villain (Sharpay) is likable. Good messages about accepting others' differences and not always following the crowd or clique. When I think about it, I say "What's not to like?" As a dad of 2 girls, I say bring on HSM 3 and 4!

I guess I never looked at it that way. I will say that we watched the Teen Choice awards the other day and my DH and I were both shocked at what they were showing than I realized it wasn't a Disney show so I guess they really don't care what they are showing kids.

Um... where's that picture? Is that on the Magic or Wonder? And where? I've never seen it before...

Yep I know what you mean. Until you are sitting there with your 8 year old during a movie/tv show it's hard to even imagine how they are seeing something. When my DD8 watches TV, she'd rather go to Nick and watch these pre-teen shows that sometimes push it like Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh. So for me, I'll put on HSM any time we have the tv on! Given all that, I don't know that I'd be sitting down to watch HSM on a free Friday night without the kids!!!!! :rotfl2:

Bill,
I am glad your raising trouble on the 08 board, that took the edge off my remarks yesterday morning and now they want to seek revenge on you, not me:rolleyes1

Ok saturday questions,
hum,
ok sail away party, if you dont want to be in the crowd go to deck 10 starboard side (side by terminal), watch the party then when we start to move, just turn around and wave at the ladies with the mickey hands at the terminal as we pull out.
Then you can stay there and wave at the people along the channel who wave at the ships. there are a lot of them all the way down the channel, plus watch for dolphins which sometimes will go along side the ship.
some people move to the front of the ship but I like the side view, less wind and good view.

I dont know what magic quest is? must be new.

Portraits: check navigator for exact times. but EVERY evening in the atrium there will be photo sessions before and after both dinner sessions and usually one late night session too. each night it will be different backgrounds and soemtimes characters.
also character pictures go on and off all day in the atrium area. There are lots of opportunities for family photos every evening.

what to do in the evening, that depends on what is offered.

usually dinner, then the welcome aboard show, sometimes there will be an adult comedy show in the club the first night around 10 which is great or live music and dancing in the club. Late night snacks about 11 to 11:30 p.m. then turn in. The first night is always a little more tiring . So we poop out early, usually by 11:30. we grab snacks on the way to bed.

That is usually our first night, oh we usually stop in the store for a few minutes just to browse too after the evening show.

If theres no adult show just music we will often take a stroll around decks 4, 9 and 10 to see who is out and about , then go hear the live music and off to bed.

That about it for us the first night,

kathy

Hey, dangit! I grew up on Fast Times at Ridgemont High and I turned out awesome! Totally awesome! ...:rotfl2: And my edu-ma-cation didn't suffer at all:
  • This is U.S. History, I see the globe right there.
  • What Jefferson was saying was, Hey! You know, we left this England place 'cause it was bogus; so if we don't get some cool rules ourselves - pronto - we'll just be bogus too! Get it?

And most importantly ... All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine. :rotfl2:

(oh, to be a teen again ...)

High School Musical

Jeff,
I am with you on this one. when my kids were growing up they always loved going to the movies with us and then with their friends, but trying to find a movie that we would let them see was very hard.

Even if I dont care for a particular movie, if it is clean and good for kids i am all for it!! There was about a 10 year period where it was almost impossible to find a clean show for the kids.
Now we have many every year , some are animated, some real people. I am so glad because now I love to take my grandkids to the movies when I see them, and now I can usually find a couple that are ok to go to with them.

Plus I love most of the animated shows the past few years. I have bought most of them.

Hi everyone,
I am sorry that I am not going with you this time. I hope you all have a great time. I just wanted to chime in about HSM 1 and 2. I applaud Disney for making movies like this. As a mother to three girls. I can honestly say that I will never stop them from watching these movies. Okay okay it doesn't help that I like them too. I esp. like the songs.

Jeff-
Of course you're right... but I'm still not watching them.:lmao:

Some of those pre-teen disney shows on in the late afternoon/early eves are a little obnoxious. Not that I've sat through more than a minute or two... I try to keep Alex to the morning stuff as he's too little for all that stuff anyway.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan... so far be it from me to criticize anything.
