Kathy, how was the shuttle launch??? We watched it on TV, but I remember watching when I lived in Florida in the 80's.

Sarah is all about space...:thumbsup2

The last post was actually mine...DD stole my laptop and logged on as Think Tink...I think the kids are taking over. Kathy, please send the whip.:rolleyes1

Ron, I laughed out loud on your quote about drinking astronauts! Perfect response to my smart mouth DD.

Good morning everyone ...

Just wanted to clarify one thing. Bill & I are not making any money on the Nanahead t-shirts. I wouldn't want you to think that we are profiting from this! Wait a minute ... now that I think about it  ... that would be more Mojito money ...
I wouldn't mind paying for a monjito for both of you! Thanks for the great job and work you put into the shirts. I've ordered ours and an e-mail said that they are on their way!

Hey, Shell,

I thought of you when I took my staff for Mojitos today! I'd never had one, so don't you feel inspirational???:flower3:

Work is getting in the way of my planning, but I was able to complete my packing list during a boring training meeting yesterday. Complete list, of course, if I can get into two of the dresses.popcorn::

Has anyone figured out a way to get off the ship (kicking and screaming, I know) without the long line??? Do you REALLY have to get off when they "assign" you the time?

They have never assigned us a time. They will give you a time for breakfast in the restaurant according to your dining times. Then you can leave after breakfast.
But we always opt for the buffet and then straight off the ship as soon as customs clears the ship. No bad lines. we usually just walk right off.

kathy

Thanks for the offer Ron. I'm coordinating the late diners for linking. I did it last year and it worked out very well!

Yes Shell did splendidly with our links last year!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 She definitely has the "magic" touch! (Pun intended!);) ;)

Good evening Nanas!!

Just got home from work a bit ago -- it's been a long two days with people calling about water in their basements from all the rain we've had.:sad2: Unfortunately most of the people didn't purchase the sump pump failure/sewer back-up coverage.

Here's your insurance tip for the day: If you have ANYTHING of value in your basement, make sure you have the proper coverage in place.

Shell, Bill -- great shirts!!! Love 'em!!   I will be paying the extra amount for the shoulder-mounted pooch!:rotfl2: I'm sure shipping & handling is free with any order of 2 or more shirts!!!:rotfl:

Well, I'm going to kick back for a bit with a nice, cold beer (I'm too lazy to open a bottle of wine!!) and get a few things done. On my The Office calendar, today's the day Dwight Shrute is to set up the conference room as his temporary work space.. .nothing like looking at Dwight every day!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Later!

Here's some more:

Oh -- Go Huskers!!!!!

Uh, I don't know what you do, but I'm sure I'm qualified................;)

BTW, I was reading Jeff's TR from the last Nov. cruise, and I'm just wondering, how rough were the seas, how much did it rain and how common is that for the time period we are sailing?

Also, Jeff, is it cheaper to upgrade upon check than it would be to upgrade now?

Castaway Club members can't book anything yet ... I think it's August 26th that we can. Or something around there. At like 3 a.m. Who would like to get our ressie number and a list of things we want, and go online so that I don't have to get up at that godforsaken hour?! Taking volunteers ...
Sure, I'll do it!!
Don't get your hopes up on the casinos in St. Maarten. If you're looking for fun, excitement, and Vegas-like atmosphere, this just isn't the place. Best of luck getting a cocktail waitress to wait on you, and DON'T expect a smile :sad2: . Cheri? Tell 'em!

The casinos were ok (cuz we came out with more $$$$ than we started with); and the cocktail waitress was efficient. The funniest part was the woman who had to open the machine because it was out of quarters and couldn't complete the payout -- no matter what DH said, she wouldn't crack a smile!!:sad2:

See-- I'm finally getting caught up on the posts!!:rotfl: :jumping1:

Last year ... hoo boy! ... Well first things first. We sailed the same week in 2005 and 2006 and had one really rainy/gray day each. But it's like Florida rain ... it comes and goes pretty quickly.

The seas were a MONSTER last year. Let's just say that no one should ever have to walk around a ship in a gown and 3.5-inch heels with 20-foot waves crashing into it broadside. I don't get seasick, so it didn't bother me at all (there were others --- honey? I'm talking about you specifically!--- that really got sick). The only thing that was really weird for me was going to bed and rolling back and forth! In 2005, we had very smooth seas, so I think this was just an oddity. At least that is my experience.

Shell- sent you a picture of myself and the girls via email... let me know if you didn't get it...
Judy

Seas were VERY rough. No one in our cabin got sick but DD3 thought she was walking funny in the hallways because of her flip flops..not the 20 foot waves!

Rain was pretty sparse - just that one day at sea where it rained like heck for a couple of hours in the middle of the day if I remember correctly.

And yes it's much cheaper to upgrade at check in - so long as they have availability. Last year, we had booked a Cat 9 and could have upgraded to pretty much anything between our category and a 3. Hopefully it will be the same this year as we'd just like to move back into a verandah again.

Hope everyone is having a great night. Wendy, I pm'd you with some Maui info and by the way, you are my hero!

The shirts are awesome,we will be ordering.
After dinner and the show, if we are not exhausted we'll check out just about anything. If ds is with us we take him to the family disco and if he is in the club, we like to get a drink and go for a walk. Not with 20 ft waves though. I sure hope this year is smooth.

Regarding St Thomas - I looked up day charters and the one is booked already (rumbaba), any others recommended?

Has anyone shipped a box to the ship?

Hi, everyone...it's going to be 115 heat index today in Wilmington. Judy, I'll see you for Mojitos this afternoon.

Shell, you are the woman in my office! We have Mojito madness.
I'm still looking for family pics...we may have to take one. For some reason, we don't have all three of us in one pic.

Hey everyone... thought I'd give everyone a hot Southern Goodmorning!...
Busy shopping ebay this morning for my cruise clothes, I am(so is Robin) a JamsWorld clothing girl but retail is usually over $100.00 per dress and I find them on ebay for under $50. Gotta save money for excursions and shopping!!!
Finally got Kayla to agree to go on Capt. Nautica excusion- she is not crazy about getting in the water- this is a girl who wanted to be a marine biologist until she was 11! Rachel is ready to go TODAY!!! Can't wait to hear if we can get a Nana private boat- does anyone have an underwater camera or do we just use a disposible???? Ah yes, more research and shopping!!!
Enjoy your day everyone... keep cool, it's gonna be a hot one(just like all the Nanahead girls!):cool2:

A lot of us seem to be onboard for the Capt. Nautica Snorkeling Excursion. I am waiting for word on whether or not we can book a private boat. We would need about 16 to make it comparable in price to booking it separately.
