Hey Kathy - Any predictions on how bad the crowds will be this weekend? We don't commando the parks but do more shows and kids rides (though Elizabeth is now into roller coasters for sure) but anyway....would you compare crowds on Memorial Day weekend to a mid-summer weekend? (which we think is scary crowded) something worse? something better?

I get to see the mouse in just a little more than 36 hours!

I had dinner with Jan and Dave tonight at my favorite Mexican restaurant and Jan told me to tell you all she says HI and just hasn't had time to get on the DIS lately, but she's thinking of all of you. :thumbsup2

Holly,
tell Jan Hi for us!!

Jeff, it will be very crowded!!!
Just go early when parks first open and use fastpasses, when it starts to get a little crowded.
we always went backt ot he hotel inthe afternoons when it was the most crowded and hottest to nap or enjoy the pool for a while, then an early dinner and off to the parks for the evening to enjoy stuff and fireowrks at closing.
Just depends on what you want to see.

also during parade times is a good time to hit rides for shorter lines, unless the girls want to see the parades.
Most Florida schools are out for the summer so lots of locals go for the 3 day weekend.

I know they have an extra hour in the a.m. for guests staying on property in a different park each day. It sounds like a great deal, but EVERYONE on property will be at that park for the entire day, I would avoid it and go to a different park that day, it will be less crowded than the early open park.

Our son use to tell us attendance numbers for these things and which ever park was early open was the busiest for the day.
Have fun, just go early and se those fast passes as much as possible!!

Shell, I havnt been out to see gas prices yet but will have to buy some in the next couple of days because I let Peter use my car to go to the airport the other day and that used some gas.
I will let you know what I pay!!

Kathy

Okie,
have a grear campout. we love to camp too but havnt been since we moved to Florida. Florida just isnt a camping state, too many poisonious critters in the woods!!

Kathy - Just for a comparison...is it going to be more or less (or the same) crowded than a mid July weekend. We always say we'll get to the parks early but we don't. We are there to relax and soak in Disney-ness and setting early alarms and racing out the door just aren't our ideas of a fun vacation. Kids are pretty flexible and will ride whatever is available at the moment because they know we come often enough. We are more into the Disney scene than the commando ride everything approach. Thanks for the info.
Jeff

Oh geez louise Jeff ... :sad2: ... just go and have fun, will ya? :lmao:

Hey now. Just trying to prepare myself. the only bad time we ever had at the parks was one November when we were used to it being empty and we hadn't heard of "New Jersey Teacher's Week" yet and showed up on those days and it was nuts everywhere :scared1: and we ended up skipping the parks and hanging at the pool most of the week...which was great fun...but we just weren't prepared for it. So be nice or else I will find our old friend and have her start PMing you for life advice. :rotfl2:

I would say it will be comparable to a mid July weekend.we go so often we often skip rides and just enjoy the atmosphere too. We ususally do 3 or 4 things in each park when we go, but if its really busy we just soak it in too.

There is always something to do even on the busiest days if you know the parks, like you do.
Be sure and let us know how it goes!!! I know you'll have a blast:thumbsup2

well I survived taking pixie to the vet today.
But it was an adventure!!
First I had them clip her nails which started world war 3!!:lmao: It took 3 of us to hold her down and of course she did try to bite us because she is so young she isnt trained yet.
Then they needed to clean out her anal glands. NO details accept MY puppy holds the record for the farthest shot of POO across an examination room.
It managed to get clear over to the freshly painted walls, sink, and a tray of syringes:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Plus filled the wippie!!!

I thought they should of given her a trophy:woohoo:

Then the cleaning out of the ears, that was another war!!! Then the shot came and she didnt flinch at all:confused3

What a day, so now both dogs had shots this week and are grumpy. Should make for an interesting couple of days around here!!

Pixie gained 3 1/2 pounds in 7 days and he expects her to gain about 15 pounds by her next visit in 3 weeks!!!:scared1: Guess I wont be carrying her then.

well both dogs are sleeping so I am going to relax. i also got a shot this week and I am grumpy too:lmao:
Greg may not want to come home tonight once he meets 3 grumpy females:goodvibes

kathy
I need to start getting her use to a leash right away.

Did you all hear that the Magic now has Cell service available in the staterooms? There goes the vacation. :)

ttyl.

Thanks Kathy. That's what I figured. We were there twice in the summer time a couple years ago (once around the July 4 holiday) and it was nuts, but we still had fun. Like you, we will do 3 or 4 things, schedule a nice dinner, etc. and just enjoy the family time we have. I'll give a full report when we return!

Ok, I have to ask! Is this the old friend we all grew to love and became fond of? Because when I read this someone popped into my mind! You know who I'm thinkin' of I'm sure! Or, if this is a personl joke, forgive me. Just was being a bit nosey...

Shell - gas here in beautiful downtown Belleview - 3.01 as of 6:30 p.m. That could change at any minute. It was 3.03 at 7:30 a.m. At least it's going down. Until tomorrow! Friday seems to jack people around day!
Just little ole me,
Pat

Oh no- you got it. :-) Are we going to see you on Saturday? I just found out I picked the AK on its extra magic hour morning (eeek) If you folks want to change the park, just call me on my cell or Mina's cell on Friday and we'll go whereever.

Jeff,
Did you all leave yet? If not, have a safe trip! If so, I'll talk to you all later!
Stacey is beside herself with joy!
Doesn't matter much to us about AK. All the parks are going to be packed this weekend. We go almost every weekend so we don't care. If you wish to change parks let me know by this evening.
I'm planning on coming, just hope Steve doesn't have to cover the weekend call out. I'll know for sure this evening.
Pat

Mornin everyone! Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all. (except the people that brought us the 3.30 + gas prices---).

I took off today to enjoy a 4 day weekend....Shell is at work making all the money. I'm doing bedding and mopping the kitchen floor (maybe for a treat later, I'll wash my car!!!! what fun!!!).

Kathy, all the experiences are worth it in the end:rolleyes1 . I'll bet the vet experience tired you out a little. Hope you didn't get too "pooped" taking them. :rotfl2:

On that note.....I'm going to check on the laundry , the lil dog and the garden...bbl gang.... (sorry Kathy, it HAD to be said----hehe)

PS. Anyone notice that our tickers are UNDER the 6 month mark for the nanahead reunion?
