11-23-2008 DCL per-Thanksgiving 3 night Wonder cruise!!

Hey,

Well it didn't snow as much as they thought but it still did snow several inches.:) We have a little bit of snow today left over from where the sun doesn't hit it.LOL
I might buy the book? Is there really anything that different then in years past? Thanks for offering the discount code.:)
if you like the clock I am using just go to the web site listed right hand top corner.:) Thanks for saying you like it.
How has your weekend been?

Ok, I changed my countdown. I like this one.

I would not get a new Passporter if I had the old one. This will be my first cruise passporter. I like having all my information in one place.

I am glad you didn't get too much snow. We still have some stick around here.

And the countdown in days...258 to go!

Well, I thought I could make it until the cruise, but I needed my Disney fix.

We are going to Disneyland for a couple days the beginning of May. We are going to Las Vegas for a conference and decided a couple days in Disneyland would start the vacation off right.

I can't believe I was crazy enough to believe I could make it until November.

Yep, all the snow is gone.:( But that is ok. It was just fun to have.:cool1:

Is it cold today for your weather? We got rain today. Oh well, what can you do.
I am some what worried about how weak the US dollor is and hope it gets better!!

I just realized if it gets warm I will have to start mowing the lawn again.

I checked my reservation online today. I haven't done that in a while.

Is anyone who booked with Disney thinking about transfering their reservation? Costco would give me a $50 gift card, but I can't decide if it is worth it. Have any of you done this before?

Yes, we most likey will transfer to someone else to get an OBC or gift card like at Costco or Sams club. If you do transfer make sure about their rules and fine print rules.
I did it once and didn't check everything out and I had to cancel and they wanted to charge us a $50.00 fee to cancel or rebook. But if I would have just stayed with Disney or some other travel sites then I would have had no cancel fee.

Weather here today was nice, sunny and warm. ;) Crazy weather lately.:rotfl:

Let us know when you're going and the family and I might be able to pop down and say hi (not hang out with you and spoil your trip, as my DH just said when I said you'd be in the area!)

Sometimes I don't get the updates and miss days of posts! I should just check up on you guys every day.

As for weather, I've hesitated to even say anything. It's been, um, gorgeous!

DH is going to Vegas in May the week after Mother's day, and I'm/we're hoping to be able to join him.

TTFN!

That is a very guy thing to say. My DH would say the exactly same thing. We are arriving really, really late on May 2nd and driving to Vegas on May 6th. If you are going to be around any of those days let me know.

I have mixed feelings about Vegas. When we lived in New Mexico we would go there often. It's just not as fun with a 3 year old. We are staying at a noncasino hotel this time. I think that will help. We stayed at the Mirage when my son was 2 and he wanted to play with every slot machine we walked past. He was practically jumping out of his stroller.

We are bring my mom with us. I think I just want her to experience DL with her grandson. I am really looking forward to the whole trip. I just booked my Blue Bayou and Jazz Kitchen reservations. My husband is going to spend all day Monday doing stuff in LA so it will be just DS, mom, and me all day. I haven't decided what to do that day. DL is only open 10-8. That leaves a lot of time in the morning and evening.

I will definitely not transfer until I am absolutely sure we are going. Have you ever trasnferred to Costco?

No I haven't used Costco, but I think they are ok and you do get the gift card but after trip? Does that seem right? I thinking it is just like Sams club ( thats who we use). I have used Dream Unlimited and AllseasonTravel and they are both great travel companies also.
I wish I was a disney right now!!:hyper:

I will have to see what Sam's Club offers. Yeah, Costco is a gift card after the cruise. I don't know if it is worth the trouble for $50. I booked my DL stay through Costco, so I guess we will see how that goes.

It's rainy today, but at least above freezing. I am sure it is nicer in Orlando.

Jazz Kitchen is my favorite restaurant on the property. I haven't been to the nicer one in the GC, though.
As for a lot of time in the morning and evening, DTD has lots to do. There's Build-a-Bear and the Lego store which I would imagine could keep a 3y/o busy for a couple of hours at least. What hotel are you staying in?

I haven't piped in on changing reservations because I have no input. We did just get our confirmation letter in the mail this week!

My DH and I love to eat on vacation. My son has basically no interest in eating anything. We ate at the Jazz Kitchen for lunch and we let our son eat a tub of ranch dressing. He was being quiet and we were enjoying our lunch. We also have the "free" character breakfast coupons from Costco. My son still does not like characters, but we drag him. Actually he likes characters, just from a distance. Have you ever been to Goofy's Kitchen?

We are staying at the Grand Californian. It is a huge splurge. I booked a package for 2 nights and 2 nights on DVC points. We have been dying to stay there. I love walking out and being right in DTD.

Did you book direct thru Disney? I got my confirmation letter like a week after I booked.

I am so excited I just booked this cruise. It will be the first cruise for my children-ages 9 and 10. We will be able to go on the cruise and then do Black Friday shopping in Orlando.

We are also going to Magic Meets in PA in July. Then we have 18 night in Orlando. 2008 is going to be a Magical Disney year. This being our first Disney Cruise I am looking for pointers and to what we should pack.
I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Hello and Welcome. There are a lot of pointers on this board. It become addictive.

Have you ever been to Magic Meets before? I have thought about going, but I have no idea what it is.

Our kids will be 8 and 10 on their first cruise this time.

Yes, I've been to GK, but not in a couple years. It was great, kind of along the lines of Chef Mickey's. I actually hosted my husband's surprise birthday party there when he turned 30. We're such geeks...

Yes, we booked through Disney, but it was at the time we purchased our DVC points, and we used points for our cruise, so maybe that's why it took so long.

And today's 250 days to go!

:welcome:

I didn't realize you booked on points. That's cool. We bought into DVC before they offered all the developer points. Oh well, I still think we have gotten a good deal so far.

I have actually never been to Chef Mickey's. We have just never made it there yet. My son is a little afraid of characters. We went to the Storyteller's breakfast when he was 2 and he was doing great until that monkey came over. I don't even know what character it was but he has not liked characters since. BTW, GK for a 30th surprise birthday sounds like fun to me.

Only 250 days. I have distracted myself with DL planning. I am so excited to go back to DL again. I am trying to convince my husband we should get APs so we can go back again next spring. I don't think it is going to work.
