11-23-2008 DCL per-Thanksgiving 3 night Wonder cruise!!

I am very new to DCL. My husband made me go to Disneyland in April 2006. I didn't really want to go, now we have been to Disneyland again in December 2006 and to DW three times. I guess he created a monster.

I am excited to go on the cruise. I keep looking at the prices for March, April, and May, but I know I can't make it until this cruise. I am not very good at waiting.

We didn't have a savannah view. We had a pool view. We are not members at AKV so I felt lucky to get the resevation to try it out.

Are you a DL AP holder?

Ha, ha you monster!

So what did you think of DL? My hubby and I are AP holders, just love it there. We actually didn't renew our kids' passes last year because they were tired of going. If I didn't know better I might not think they're mine! Now they want passes, though, after our WDW trip. They had a really good time. Of course, now I have to pull the $$$ together for that.

As for looking for other cruises, I can't help myself. There's even a ship on the west coast this summer, which would save us a lot in air fare of course, but I don't know if I can swing it. DH doesn't have enough vacation time, and it's kind of crazy (and wonderful of course) to think about three big vacations in one year. I guess I just like to dream.

Although, now DH and I are looking at going to WDW just the two of us for a long weekend in Sept. We're both runners, and they have a really fun looking 5k at AK with a scavenger hunt portion at the end along with a party. We also play a game at DL called MouseAdventure, which is puzzle solving, eye spy, scavenger hunt kind of thing, so this AK race is just up my alley.

When did you go to WDW in December? was it over Christmas? What were the crowds like?

Okay, this is my longest post ever!

We love DL. We are planning on going next spring and using our points at the Grand Californian. I would never pay to stay there, but the points aren't too bad. We had breakfast there last time, and it was amazing.

We went to DW and DL at almost exactly the same times 1 year apart. It was the second week in December of 2006 for DL and 2007 fo DW. It was not very crowded at that time. DL was awesome at that time. It was just getting crowded the day we left, which worked out well. We got to see Fantasmic and the Electric Parade. We saw them both on the last night we were there. We sort of had to run between the two.

Did you get our flights for the cruise yet? I really want to book Southwest so I will have to wait. What category is your family in?

I'm interested in the thanksgiving cruise. WHat is the price for the cruise? Hopefully, its not too expensive since i don't want to miss black friday!

Misikko,
This cruise actually runs Sunday to Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, so you could still black Friday.

The prices vary according to your stateroom category and how many people are going. Disneycruise.com will show you prices immediately, and you can get a quote from dreams unlimited, the sponsor of this board. My family have booked their cruises through them, and I've heard really good things about their service.

Spaddy, it's so cool you're staying at the GC. I've only walked through the lobby, and even that felt too expensive for me!

We haven't booked our airfare yet. I'm signed up for Travelocity alerts and Southwest's ding, but I think SW doesn't come out with the schedule until April or something like that. My hubby told me when it was, and I don't remember.

Good luck to all of us on getting good airfare rates for that week!

I think the category 12 is definitely a good deal on this cruise. I just wish I had 1 more person so I knew I would get an upgrade. For the 3 of us it was $300 more for cat. 11.

I really like Dollywood. I love the mountains. Pigeon Forge is really fun totally cheesy tourist area. Thanksgiving dinner was not very good though. We didn't know we were going until Tuesday night before Thanksgiving.

Maybe you will get up graded anyway!! There are only a few Cat 12's anyway.

I can't wait to go!!:goodvibes on the wonder!!
Hope you had a Happy V-day! We did! and the kids got such cute cards from school.

My son had fun at his Valentine's party too. It was his first. 3 year olds are pretty funny at school partys.

I hope to get upgraded, but I am trying to plan on the cat 12 so I won't be disappointed.

I would probably never pay $300 to stay at the GC, but the points are not too bad. We might stay somewhere for 2 days before to get the packages from DL because I want to go to Toontown Madness. We actually sold our tickets last time because my son was too young to enjoy it.

That scavenger hunt does sound like fun, but I only run when chased.

I think it is August for Southwest. That was at least what I got from the Transportation board. I don't know if I can wait that long. I would book on USAir or AirTran, but they are so strict about making changes.

We booked through DU and will be paying the deposit tomorrow! We are doing the Land/Sea package and staying at the Poly before the cruise and Pop for a couple of nights after the cruise. This will be our first Disney cruise. It will be me, DH, DD-10, DD-7, DD-7, DD-5, and my mom.

Is it November yet?

:welcome:

TXBelle, welcome! Glad you're joining us. I just did my first WDW 1/2 this year, and I see you're a vet.

Only 276 more days!

Welcome, TXBelle.

We will have to think of something fun to count down to the cruise. IheartDL, atleast you can get a Disneyfix in DL. I am stuck here in the snow. Hey, I am the only one stuck in the snow?

It was 25 today and we are suppose to get 3" of snow tonight. I keep looking at Southwest to see if I can get a good fare to Florida. I can't really afford to take time off from work, but a girl can dream.
:rotfl:

Leslie- Congratulations on doing the 1/2! It's a great experience.

Is it too early to start packing? :lmao: Seriously, DH has already started our packing list. Can someone break it to him that we are still 9 months away?

Lots of wet snow today. Oh well, I am starting to get used to it.

I am still dreaming of a spring break in Florida.

Did you see that cat 12 is sold out for our crusie? Not that I check everyday or anything.
