One thing about that secret deck 7...the teenagers historically know all about it and it frequently turns into a teen hangout.

Ok All you parents with high schoolers did anyone else have to make a mole for mole day in Chemistry Class. I don't sew and my son was no better. The last thing I would have thought you had to do in Chemistry was to make a stuffed animal. But a fun night to say the least. Happy Mole Day.Lynn

Other people are saying they're having trouble too, but it opens for me. I can't access it at school because it's blocked, but at home I don't have any trouble.:confused3

BTW--will you be sailing cat. 1 in June of 2010? Friday is almost here--it's decision time. LOL!

What is your guess?:lmao: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Sandy - How was your birthday? Do tell............................
Just an ordinary day of housework and fighting with DS to do his homework. I told DH I wasn't cooking so he picked up Chinese take-out. :woohoo: I'm going to pretend that Nov. 22 is my bday. ;) Then I can party with all my new friends. :goodvibes

I didn't think you'd mind but I booked for all of us. Balance is due in 6 months. Time to start that evening tutoring job you've been thinking about! :teacher: :lmao:

Mole day? You mean like a mole that is blind and burrows tunnels in the garden and eats your root crops? That kind of mole? You shold have called me. "Walter E.Disney" our cat leaves their dead bodies in the back yard daily. I could have sent you one!

Judy,

Yeah, baby. Secret Deck 7. Hickey-Cook party sounds great!!!! Send Ian to the Stack and the girls to the clubs and we'll be set. I can personalize some PRIVATE invitations for some to join us. However there will be those who think we're beneath them and won't come. OH well, We'll just pick a time and fill in the blanks. Watcha' think?

Lora

My brain is mush--to whoever posted the pics of the pillowcase. THANK YOU.

I want to get a couple and leave at GS for the girls and Melinda.

Again thank you

Lora

Yea! It was supposed to look like that but with my sewing skills I don't know. MOLE has to do with some measuring unit in Chemistry. One of the teachers on our cruise can probably explain it better. I have to say this was the first fun thing he said he did in Chem class and probably the last. My DD just finished her science project so we are ready for a break. The gradeing period ends today for the first 9 weeks.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Oh I forgot to ask

How are you guys seeing what rooms are available in the DCL site? I would like to look at that. However, I really don't want to leave my friend Judy.

Don't leave me!!! Stay with me in the cheap seats!

Does anyone out there have a good packing list? I don't know that I completely trust mine and I would like to compare to make sure I have EVERYTHING!
I'm sitting here and I realized I didn't put masks and snorkles on the list. How could I? :sad2:

28 days for us!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :worship: :worship: :worship:    :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Judy-I could never leave you:hug:   :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I have officially started packing. I have all of our bathing suits in a backpack. I hadn't realized it, but Mackenzie pulled out clothes yesterday that she has been piling up to take. I got my dress for formal night back from the seamstress yesterday. I just need to find a tie for Bob that matches. I think that I will pack our formal wear today and that will be done.

HAVE A GOOD DAY AND MAKE GOOD CHOICES.:rolleyes1

Lora

I teach Chemistry and even though that is a classic Chemistry thing I can tell you that my kids do not do it. Nor do we color in a mole. But we could burn them all and measure the heat of a reaction.

I hope you guys at least had fun making it. The students that have me know I am not much for science fair type projects either.....just my personal thing. We have no school today in honor of report card day so we could not celebrate with food.

More meaningless trivia March 14 is pi day. It celebrates the number 3.14 and it is also Albert Einstein's birthday.

For those that want to know what it is......it is a day to celebrate a number in Chemistry. Here is a quick explanation. For those that don't want to know stop reading now!

10-23 is Mole Day because the date is significant. The Mole is the most important concept in Chemistry. On Mole Day we celebrate this number. It is a unit of measuring atoms/molecules. A mole is simply a number, like "1 dozen" is the number 12. "One mole" is a much greater number! It is equal to 6.02 X 10^23! To give you an idea of how large this number is:
1 Mole of marshmallows would cover the entire earth and be 12 miles high!!! Is that a large number???
1 Mole of marbles would fill the entire Grand Canyon and there would still be enough left over to displace all the water in Lake Michigan and a few other lakes!

I think I have my stuff down to the bare minimum. I'm just so fearful that I'm going to forget something really important. I am definately planning on doing some laundry too.
It seems like everyone is on deck 2. I'll be down for the party!!!!:rotfl2: We're still on 7 but I'm not giving up hope that we'll be upgraded. In the meantime I'm christening the secret deck on 7. It will be the Hickey-Cook party room! Come on up!!!:dance3: party: :dancer:

I'm on 7! I'll be happy to help christen the secret deck, if only someone will tell me where it is. :rotfl2:

I plan to start a packing list. With a forgetful 9 year old and a high maintenance toddler, I can't forget something important like sippie cups, pacifiers, or socks (my DD9 always forgets socks.) Some of those things can't be picked up at the corner store.

Shay,

Looking at a map of the ship, it looks like it is on the aft side. (animators palate) side. However I could be wrong. Chuck-I'm quite sure you will know where it is.

The secret deck is at the end, back of the ship (aft). Go all the way aft. There's a white metal door that looks like you shouldn't go through it. Well, go on through! Open the door and TA DA! There it is! There are usually deck chairs and it's usually very quiet. Last cruise no one was ever there when we were.
Lora, you will just make a right out your door. It's just a few cabins away.
Shay - What cabin(s) are you guys in now?

We wont pack till probably the weekend before the cruise. Our DD still has no idea she is going and a bunch of stuff for the cruise will certianly give her a clue. I have started a list though. Rounding of first is my cheap wal-mart flip flops. I hope they dont mind me wearing them to Palos!!

Also, I did have some trouble getting onto the website again to look at the FE list. I was finally able to figure out how to get in. In case someone else needs it, here is the scanned FE list from the site:

You worried about wearing flip flops to Palo? Wait till you see what I have on!
If the temp is over 68, flip flops are on my feet!
DS is still insisting he will not dress for dinner in anything but casual. I'm done fighting him. DH says if he wanted to dress up on vacation he'd visit the Queen. And since I'm not wearing a tiara, I guess he's not dressing up either!
I hope we're not too embarrassing. Yinz all have permission to pretend you don't know us!

I can't believe his IB teacher let them have some fun but she did. Grades are due today so she was giving them a break. Did they take any of your days away for the hurricane/tropical storm.
