11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Hello All.

My family of 5 are booked on the Thanksgiving cruise. We've done one DCL cruise in '06 with extended family and found the DisBoards very useful. This time just the 5 of us are going, so we thought this would be a great way to "find" other families with kids around the same age as ours.

We are hoping that our kids will make some friends and enjoy time in the clubs so that DW and I aren't "entertaining" them 24/7.

Haven't tried to read 115 pages of posts, but it sounds like you have a good, close group of people getting ready to cruise in 90 days!!! We'll keep monitoring for any comments or suggestions....

I'm looking into either the patch or Scopace tablets, so I have to make doctor's appointments for DS and myself. I LOVE roller coasters, but boats and Teacups make me really sick.

I'd love to switch cabins with you, we have a cat. 9.

I would love to be paying for just the Cat 9. It was actually cheaper to book the Cat 4. We looked at booking a Cat 11 and Cat 8 just now. It wasn't enough saved for DH to give up the balcony. I still think having separate rooms would be worth not having a balcony.

Welcome aboard! I also have a son that is 12. I know he'll be at the kid's club late night pool party and whenever he can have free time in there.

I think the deadline to sign up was yesterday, so the website should be correct. I've already started my shopping. I might freak out if we add more now. Actually, I'd make do. This has been a little harder than I thought it would be though. I think I've told everyone before that I have absolutely no talent, so this has been challenging for me! I find myself waking up in the middle of the night panicking that I forgot to make my ressies and panicking that I didn't have what I needed for my FE's. I need help folks! I need a specialist of some sort. Any suggestions?

All kidding aside, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We've been a little under the weather at my house. Just in time for the beginning of school! I took the kids to the doctor this morning--one has a virus with a sore throat and the other is covered in poison ivy! Ugh!

You have to book them online. I dont think anybody their will answer your calls. I used this site to come up with 12:01 Sunday morning (Saturday night). http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php I hope I am right!

Thanks for the link to date calculator! This is our first Disney cruise so we have to wait until 75 days. If we don't get Palo this time around we won't know what we are missing anyway!

They don't have all reservations online. They hold 50% to level the playing field. They typically take Palo reservation 1:30 p.m. or later, but DO confirm that on your Navigator. It's usually held in Studio Sea. There's a good chance you get dinner reservations. You can always call for cancellations, too.

When you get on board, go first thing and see if you can get reservations. The brunch is awesome!

Need help with scheduling before our mad midnight rush. Someone posted before the dining rotations were something like APLLAPL, then I saw somewhere else it would be APLAPLA. Anyone know which day is the double?

Also, which night is Pirate Night? I'd hate to book my Palo's the same night, because I love doing the Pirate thing.

Mean Queen - Didn't they change the rotations for EB, WB and Panama Canal cruises. I think it'll back to same 'ol, same 'ol. At least that's what I booked based on.

I've got a 10 year old son who pretty much lives at the basketball court. We always think he'll get tired of playing basketball, but he never does. He's not good at emailing much (or figuring out how to hook up the WII to the internet ), but he is always looking for someone to play ball or go to the arcade with onboard. We're glad you're joining us!

I figure if we book dinner Tuesday at Palo's we should avoid missing one of the restaurants, but I was worried that would be Pirate night. So then I thought maybe we need to do Palo's Wednesday or Friday. I have to book Flounder's at the same time, so I'm taking advantage of the midnight time tonight.

Oh, I am having fun! I'm just driving myself (and my family) nuts in the process. I totally get in to the whole cruise thing as it is, and now that we're doing the FE, I just have more to focus on to make the time pass more quickly. I'm having lots of fun searching for FE items everywhere I go. You should see the people in line behind me at the checkout counters. I'm sure they ALSO think I need help!

Pirate night has been when we were in Cozumel for the two cruises I've been on. I think that would be Wednesday, right? Hmmm? We booked our Palo reservations for the first formal night which should be Monday. We like Pirate Night too and don't want to miss it. We usually go for the 2nd formal night, but it's Turkey Day. DS12 might have issues with us not having dinner with him.

It won't let me make reservations at all. It says that I owe money, yet my balance is zero. We paid in full, but we're only listed as "booked." My friend made our Palo time for Friday, but I can't get on to book Flounder's. I will be very upset if I can't get any good times in Flounder's because of this stupid mistake.
