Not that I am counting, but it in exactly 4 months (123 days), our sail away party will have sunset, and those of us with early dining, will have full bellies and just starting our festivities.

Now I have a request, in order to help to get to know each other, what about signing our names at the end of the posts. Due to popular misbelief, my real name is NOT Seadooken. Most people just call me Ken.

Good morning Ken! I'm really Judy. (Lex is my golden retriever.)
Reading this post gave me goosebumps. We really are getting close aren't we?
122 days from right now I will be getting ready to leave AK Lodge and climb on board the Disney Cruise Line bus for the port. I know a lot of people like to take limos or drive to port, but I love the bus. It really sets the mood for me - watching the old cartoons and seeing the excitement on everyone's face, especially the kids.
This trip I am definitely going to stand on deck 10 forward and look for dolphins as we set sail. I missed them last trip and have always regretted it.
I'll be calling for our Palo and shore excursion reservations on the 24th (90 days). I'm also going to eat creme' brulee until I pop! I'm still on my diet (down a total of 45 pounds!). I know I'll gain 10 back on this trip but that's ok. It will be worth it. Lobster, shrimp cocktail, creme' brulee and Mickey bars.:mickeyjum
And Ken - in an earlier post you told me to eat a gingerbread cookie for you at WDW Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I'll do that but I'll also sneak one on board for you too!
Disney Poor - So glad you booked alternate flights. Let the Magic begin. :wizard:

For the fish extenders - do we need one per family or one per person?
I started buying gifts for them but my DH started teaching summer school reading camp on Monday. He raided my bag for rewards for his kids and my supply is going down! I'm off work today and am planning on going to the mall this morning so I'll hit the Disney Store and Michaels.

Does anybody have any special memories from past cruises or anything special they like to do while on board or in port (especially CC)that they would like to share?
Here's something I did. Please don't tell the "authorities" or get me busted but while on CC I filled a 35mm film canister with some sand and a few small seashells. When we got back I bought clear glass Christmas ornaments from the craft store. I popped off the metal holder on the top and filled a few with a little sand and a few shells. Then I hung them from Disney ribbon on our tree. They are still hanging in my curio cabinet in our living room because I can't put them away!

THANKS JUDY! If we are going to keep peace in the family, you might want to sneak in 3 cookies!

So tell me about the Fish Extender thing? I have a vague idea from previous posts, but have not quite caught on.

Also, for those that did not see this, someone was so kind to post the Christmas decorating schedule

Ken

I guess I'm weird, but I don't really want to see Christmas decorations while I'm on the ship. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't seem right to me. I want it to feel all tropically and summery (even if it is fall). Maybe I'll change my mind when I see them.

I would like some more info as well on the FE. I have heard about them, but not sure how it works and what type of items people put in there.

Also, I do not know how to sew. Can you buy them or is there a no-sew FE?

Any clarification would be much appreciated!

My name is Lisa.

SEWING . . . . nobody mentioned SEWING! :rotfl:

OK Ken and Lisa--I was the one who mentioned sewing:rolleyes1 But there is a thread about FE's and it shows pics of them. I'm not sure if it is "legal" to say or not, but you can get them on e-bay. My understanding of it is that you hang them on the fish outside your room and people put little items in them all week, from candy to rulers to whatever. I gues anything goes. Then when you go to your room, there is always a surprise or two.

NOW FOR OUR NEWS--Kenzie passed her kidney stone today. :worship: :worship: :worship: and with no pain. IT WAS HUGE. but we are so releived, I can't even begin to describe the weight off of our shoulders.

Now just to keep her from having anymore

:woohoo: That's great news! Glad that darn stone is out and it didn't hurt.

BTW, I don't know if you saw my message about not getting your email.

Lora,

I'm so glad to hear your daughter is now going to be doing much better! I have a friend who has had trouble with kidney stones, and it's NO FUN!:scared: I was glad to see your post--the pixie dust must have worked!:goodvibes

Ken - 3 cookies it is!! And I'll try not to crush them!

As far as the FE goes - if we're craft challenged can we just decorate a plastic grocery bag and hang it?

I personally loved the holiday decorations when we sailed at Thanksgiving. They're not overly done and very tasteful. There is enough "tropical" surrounding you that you never forget you're on a cruise. Then there's the sun and the heat. Us northerners can't forget it's the tropics when you feel that heat.

HOORAY FOR KENZIE!! :yay: :cheer2:
I can't imagine how great you all must feel. Especially K. Now maybe things can get back to normal.

Here's a funny little story that we are still laughing about. My DS and I went to the local mall a few days ago. Of course the first stop was the Disney Store. They had ceramic coffee mugs on sale so we bought 4. Next we walked to Macy's to buy socks. We entered through the cosmetics department. As we were walking, the bottom of my sneaker caught on the tile floor. Next thing I knew I was tripping forward and I was goin' down. Now, I'm not a small woman. And I still have the bag of ceramic mugs. My brain went into "Save the mugs" mode. My arms started flailing - sort of like swimming through the air. I hit ground. First thing that hit was my right elbow. Then my knees. I was laid out like a dead carp. But the mugs were saved!!! I rolled over on my back and looked up into the faces of all the cute little cosmetics sales women. Their jaws had dropped and they were looking at me like I had 2 heads. I hurt. All I could think of was "I'm going to be in a cast for this trip". As gracefully as I could I began to stand up. All of the cute sales women ( at least 8 by this time, not to mention all of the customers that heard the big thud and came runnin') were asking "are you ok?" over and over again. I looked at my son who had his hand over his mouth trying to stifle a laugh and hide his face from embarrassment. I told them all I was ok. I asked them to be kind when they spoke of this incident and to tell everyone I went down with style and grace. I now have HUGE ugly bruises on both knees and my elbow. The bruises are so ugly I cannot wear shorts until they go away. But I didn't break anything (except my dignity). My DS still says it's one of the funniest visions he has. He said he was scared at first but when he saw me get up he realized I was ok and just started to laugh. I would love to see store camera video if they have it!

I'm glad you're ok, now thanks for my laugh for the day. I know I'd do the same thing "Save the mugs!!!!"

First - I am sooo glad your daughter is feeling better. Several people in my family have kidney stones and I know from them how painful they can be.

Second - I had the biggest laugh regarding the SAVE THE MUGS story. I know what you mean though, I would totally take the hit for a good sale (especially for Disney merchandise!)

I will check out ebay, but I am pretty crafty so if I could make one that might be something fun for me and my DD to do.

So do we know how many goodies we should buy for this? Will we get a list of the cabins that are participating? We have 4 cabins for all of our family/friends, so I will see if they want to participate to.

I am getting soooo excited!

120 DAYS!!!!
One Hundred and Twenty Days!
It's like music to my ears. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
120 days from right now we'll be singing and dancing at the sail away party!

Lora,

Thats great about Kenzie. I know when my DD (Kiah) even gets a sniffle, I feel bad. I am glad you are done with it.

Judy Judy Judy . . . . . 120 days away you be careful. Its a funny story but could have turned out MUCH worse. I want to see you drinking tropical drinks from a straw, not your dinner!:rotfl2:

Glad to hear that Kenzie passed her kidney stone. Hopefully, it will be smooth sailing for all of you now!:)

I'm not that familiar with the Fish Extenders either, what kind of items do you put in there? I think between me and DH we can make one, but who knows what it's going to look like :rotfl2:. Anybody have anymore information on FE's. Do you put goodies in there everyday? or just the first day?

Who else is up for the fish extender challenge? Come on, it will be fun!!!!

We will have to keep a list, maybe on the website. A list of participants for the grab bag at the Cruise Meet and a list for the FE. We also have to definately decide on where/when we are having the cruise meet once we board. It's getting closer and we need to work out the details. :cool1:

I know we have some cruisers out there that haven't posted in a while, where is everybody? Come on don't be shy, we are a very friendly crowd!!:cheer2: :yay:

Oh by the way, my name is Teresa

I think we should meet some place quiet and away from the rest of the cruisers. Didn't someone check with DCL about us meeting somewhere? I just pulled out my book of the ship and a couple of places came to mind.

Diversions and the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3, if outside, maybe forward on deck 4, Studio Sea on deck 4.

I don't know how to add people to the different lists, but we have 5 people in 2 rooms. For the grab bag and FE's.

I saw on another post that people put candy, stickers, glow bracelets and such in the FE's, SO my guess is whatever goes. I think that we need to have our room numbers listed to make it a little easier to find. That way we're not looking up and down 2 hallways on 6 decks looking for the rooms, we can just go by the list and go right to them. Anyone else have any ideas?

We have decided on the following excursions--CC-Glass Bottom Boat Scenic Voyage--for the first day so that we can take in the Christmas Decorations on the 2nd day----Cozumel-Xcaret Eco Archeologiacl Park------Grand Cayman-Boatswains Marine Park. How about everyone else? What are your plans?

Hoping to have McKenna potty trained so that she can go to the Oceaneers Club and give Bob and I some time to do adult stuff, if not, we'll only be limited to 12 hours, because she'll have to go to Flounders Nursery. That's ok, though, BUT.....

Can't wait to meet you guys,

Bob, Lora Mackenzie, McKenna and DSis-Melinda

Stacie said she spoke with someone at DCL about having a large group meeting, I think she said, at Studio Sea.
