Stacie--those hawks are amazing! We can't wait to watch the game tonight! They have made us a little nervous their last two games though!:rolleyes1

Hawaii was fantastic! I don't even know which island I'd want to go back to because each of them offered something different, and they were all just fabulous! The cruise---well, that's another story! Nothing like DCL! Didn't even come close to comparing. Even Brian, who isn't a huge Disney fan:scared1: , kept saying how great Disney was!:thumbsup2 We are so excited for this cruise! Can't wait to see you guys again and get our clan back together!:cool1:

Susan--How 'bout those Jayhawks? I bet your son is just a little bit excited.

I was wondering how Hawaii was. You survived zip-lining :)

Andy is growing up WAY too quick. We haven't been in a hurry for him to walk but now that he took those first steps reality is crashing in, he is going to be a toddler not a baby. :sad1:

BTW--ziplining was easy compared to some of the other things we did on that excursion! I'll have to fill you in later. It was all great though!

Here is the e-mail I sent to Native Choice Tours in Costa Maya followed by the e-mail I received back today:

My e-mail:

If everything goes as planned, and the cruise ship port is open, I will be arriving in Costa Maya on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 on the Disney Magic.

There is a large group of us who've met online at the DIS boards and several of us are interested in touring the ruins. Is it possible to set up a large tour group (approx 30 families, 120 people)? Can you help arrange transportation to and from the port?

I have heard so many great things about your tours, we jumped at the chance to come to Costa Maya. We will be praying for the rebuilding effort, and that you all stay safe this coming hurricane season.

Stacie

Ivan's e-mail:
Thank you very much for contating us!

We can definitely help you arrange a tour for everyone in your group, and yes, we can also arrange everything to pick you up at the port and drop you off there at the end of the tour.

At the moment we have not heard anything official from the port administration in Costa Maya. However, the reconstructions is going fast and the local media has reported that Costa Maya will be ready to receive cruises by the end of July. Most likely Disney Magic will be coming back to Costa Maya by November. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that this upcoming hurricane season does not affect our area.

We are also working hard in our village and are ready to receive tourists when the cruises return to our area.

At the moment we are getting reorganized and hopefully by next week we will be ready to start taking reservations for the next season. I will keep your email and promise to contact you in a few days when we are ready to start taking reservations so we could start planning something special for your group.

Sicnerely,
Ivan Cohuo

Is there still an interest in a DIS Group tour? Earlier in the thread several of us had discussed it but before I pursue it any further just wanted to make sure there was still an interest. I know the double dippers from December 2006 had a great experience. Please let me know if you want me to add your family to the list (no commitment at this time, just need to know numbers).

I just went online and checked our flights. We paid $282 pp in January, it is now $647 pp. OH MY GOSH!!!!!! They also changed our flight time home, it is now scheduled for 12:15pm, it was originally scheduled for 12:50pm, we will be making a made dash off the ship.

That's just what you needed to hear!

I wasn't around when this was discussed earlier in the thread. Which ruins are these? I haven't done much research yet, but I know my family wants to see some ruins while we're in Mexico. I know there have been threads on which ruins are the best, but I don't remember whether they were at Costa Maya or Cozumel. Well, not actually Cozumel, but the excursion is while we're docked at Cozumel.

I know at least my parents are interested - so there's another 2. The rest of us with young kids are still trying to decide but there is interest! Thanks for contacting them on our behalf!

Stacie,

My family is definitely interested. We were planning to book something, but it would be great to do this excursion with a bunch of dis'ers with kids. It would be 4 of us- me, dh, ds-7 and dd-5.

Thanks,
Shell

The Campbell clan is definitely interested. Please add us to your list and let us know when you need any info or definite reservation answer. We are a family of 4, all of whom would be considered adults for pricing (DH, self, DD14 & DS16 at cruise time).

Stacie,

Count the Cook family of 5 in. Lora, Bob, and Melinda as adults; Mackenzie 8 and McKenna 3.

Any totals on the CHANGE game? We're up to $210.

Bob, Lora and girls

Stacie,

I already have this booked but would love to do it as a DIS group. I'm not sure if I would need to contact them, cancel the ressie I already have, or what. If you have any advice for me just let me know.

Thanks!

Susan

We are also a possiblity for this trip. We aren't sure if our 7 and 5 year old would enjoy it, but if lots of other kids are going I'm sure they will have a blast. So for now that would be 3 adults and 2 kids to add to the list. I'll also check with my brother to see if he and my niece are interested. Thanks for taking the lead on this!

I'm pretty sure the tour is kid-friendly but we'll definately have more details before anybody has to commit for sure.

Susan--I would think you could just drop them an e-mail telling them that you'll be in our group instead of on your own.

Will do!:) Count us in then! I'll get them emailed soon so they know to cancel our other ressie.

I think we'll probably do the Tulum ruins excursion from Cozumel instead. I'll have to ask other members of my family if they're interested in Chacchoben though. They may want to do both. Is anyone else planning to see Tulum?
