11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Bumping us back up to the top.

It is finally spring here but with it comes a little bit of sun, and a lot of rain and wind.

I took Andy to the park yesterday for the first time. He liked the swing, wasn't too sure about the crawl through tunnel or anything else.

I've booked my parents on this cruise and I'm really hoping that they will go with us. They have had a tough go the last few weeks. They own their own business and last week an employee of 18 years passed away at the age of 38 of complications from alcoholism. To compound matters he was also my sister's first husband (she's now on number 4). So needless to say, I want to whisk them away to Disney and make everything all better.

Both of our older two are going to be at camp the same the week in June. DH and I are trying to figure out something fun that we can do with Andy. Maybe we'll take a 3-day cruise. I'm sure the older two wouldn't mind.

Me! I'm getting ideas together, but haven't actually made any yet. I posted, a few pages back, about a DDTT magnet, but there didn't seem to be any interest.

I have a cricut with Disney Cartridges. Let me think about it for a couple of days and see what I can come up with. Our computer crashed and it was 3 months before we got a new one, so I missed alot ofposts and just haven't had the time to go thru them. But a magnet sounds great. I've actually been thinking about our door signs.

Hey Lora--
I meant to tell you that I saw your thread on snorkeling and you're not alone. I can kind of swim but I not coordinated enough to swim and remember to only breath out of my mouth. Panic sets in really quickly. I even bought a snorkle that doesn't let water down the tube but I still can't do it. It's a mind of matter thing but I need to practice this summer.

Need to call DCL this evening and pay off room #1 and pay a chunk on room #2. (Note - room #1 has REAS package on it).

Counting down the days until I hear that sweet horn...

Okay, so I said I was going to do this back on the 3rd of April, but things got busy here...BUT we finally paid off room #1 this evening and paid down room #2. Now onto the passports (time is catching up with me )

I just threw this together. I'm not sure if I really like it. I would love to get some ideas on how to change and/or improve it.

ETA: I just realized Costa Maya should go before Cozumel and that there isn't anything on it that says it's a cruise. That's why I need help.

Hey, I'm not going to complain, you took the time to make it.

If you just change Costa Maya and Cozumel around and maybe add cruising on the Magic. Looks Good!

That looks great! The only thing I could come up with is a two-scoop ice cream cone, and putting text in the scoops, not very original. I tried using a turkey for one of the scoops but that didn't look right either.

How about changing the background colors to orange, yellow and maybe use a brown highlight and that way you still have all the Thanksgiving-y colors in there. I love the turkey picture with Mickey!!!

Sandy~ I love it! You are very creative! The only thing I would try to add is the fact that we're going to Castaway Cay twice...Hence the "Double Dip" part. But...if you leave that out.. it's still perfect!

Thanks. You're right, I do need to show that we're going to CC twice. Do you think I should just add Castaway Cay to the end of the ports line?
Castaway Cay <> Costa Maya <> Cozumel <> Castaway Cay

Or put a little 2 next to CC, like CC squared? Or something different? Any suggestions?

I'll try to figure out a way to get Double Dipping on there too. Not sure where though. What do you think?

It's great! I'm just too computer illiterate and creatively challenged to design a sign the way you did.

Sandy, I really like it. You are very creative! I like the idea of CC squared, I think that's kinda cool. Now you've got me excited to start making our door signs.
