11/15/09 Wonder

Thanks guys! It was more the principle of the thing than anything. What the reporter said was airline reps have said to them that if they raise tickets costs, people stop flying, if they charge fees, then they keep flying. I'm not siure how much of that is true and how much is just their sunshine they like to blow. That holds water if for example, they charge the fees at separate times. I.E. ticketing and checking in your bags. you pay at one time for your flight and then months later, your bags. It's easier to swallow that pill than say $150 more at the time of purchase. I get that. They do need to remain solvent. But if the price of purchasing your ticket goes up at the actual purchase time, then their argument is moot. There will be a breaking point as with everything and they are going to do their best to push it to that.

SO. That's that. I paid my fees months ago so I obviously knew I had to bend over. :lmao: But I will not fly them again with this kind of policy being so sneakily hidden. It's a moral and ethical issue in my mind and that is where I WILL choose to boycott a company even fi it costs me more to fly elsewhere... which it won't because they are all competitive.

Steph hope things are working out for you. I did the land/sea package with airfair well they have changed our flight 3 times already plus we fly with two different airlines. going down we fly Delta coming home we fly UsAirways go figure that out. I"m not paying twice for my luggage. I can not believe they are making us pay for our luggage either. Come on $I think it's $45.oo round trip per bag per person. for me thats almost 5X45.00 +=$225.00 on top of the 7K I already piad figure that one out! I will never do this kinda of trip again..

NIGHTMARE!!!!! :scared1:

Today DH brought one of our Kittties to the vet...
She has been on medication for her thyroid for about 4 months now and they wanted to do some bloodwork.
She has had this wierd cough thing for a few weeks and when he called the vet last week, they said to keep an eye on it and they would check her when she came in today, but to call if it got worse. Well, it got worse on Thursday, but at that point we were already going in today.

So DH comes home from the vet with no kitty and was crying. They did an xray and her lungs are so full of fluid that they could not even see her heart. The Vet said that its possible that its nothing serious, but it could be. They wanted to drain the fluid ao they kept her and sent DH home since it would be a while. (of course he does not tell me this, so I am thinking they put her to sleep while he is telling the story to me. The vet said that if its what she thinks it is, that the thoracentisi will make her feel better, but that she probably has 6-8 months left.

She made it through the procedure fine, DH just left to go get her, but we have to wait for the cytology results, and because of the Holiday on Monday, its likely we won't know until the week after next.

On a happier note one part of our FE gift came in today...

SOOOO sorry about the kitty!!!!!!!! What a CRUMMY day. :sad1::sad1::sad1:

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry :worried:
We are huge animal lovers with Angeline training to become a vet nurse.
Hope everything turns out okay pixiedust:

I just put together all the FE bags so I have a good idea where I stand. DS thought it was WAY fun to do that. :thumbsup2:goodvibes

There are a couple kids w/ nut allergies.
OTHER than the obvious (nuts), what things should I look for on packages that would indicate a nut based product? I'm out of the loop I fear. ;)

for the nuts, sometimes the packaging will say may have been produced in a factory that has nuts, and just the trace can be enough for some people to have problems. Fortunatly abbys it not that bad!

Daisy is home and doing ok.. the vet drained 93cc of fluid from her. Which for a 7lb cat, that is a whole lot.
The cytology will be back in 7-10 days. Blah! I hate waiting.

I think this is it. I've got all the updates that's been sent to me. Please look it over and verify.

I'm so tired of the airlines and their little fees, charges etc. I hope this works out OK for ya. I'd be tempted to split my family up to make others aware of the problem.

I'm sorry to hear about the kittens. We are dog folks ourselves but if that happened to us. Oh that wouldn't be a happy day.

We were packing up our FE stuff today. And then we looked at our count down chain too. When we first made up our contruction paper chain for a link a day the chain went down the hallway, arount the end then stated up the other way too. Now it has a small loop. IT'S COMING UP FAST.

I remembered a video we put of our family to introduce ourselves to everyone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z1pIPb4Qoc

Last year my youngest sister invited my brother, sister, folks and ourselves to her new house in San Antonio. Well after inviting us to the invition was nicely revoked so to make it up to the kids we took the whole family to the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City. The video was the highlights of the water park and I figured it would be a way to introduce ourselves to everyone.

Yay! I finally received our cabin assignment, 7022. Not too bad, the rest of my group is midship deck 6.

Any of the adult couples/singles that have the color purple as their favorite color? Never mind why. :rolleyes1 It's MY favorite color. :thumbsup2

Tomorrow it's off to DL to check out the new VGC and for the Trick or Treat Party on Thurs. Of course a storm is coming in tomorrow too. I think my Dad is worried he'll melt if he gets rained on, he's already saying we should go to San Diego on Wed instead of Fri. The secret is DL crowds are great if it rains.

:rotfl:
I went to a friend's house in Boise this summer and it rained on the day they had the farmers market. Both of my friends said they didn't really want to go but because it was raining (more like misting). I said, "Come on guys! You won't melt and I'm here. I'm not going to let RAIN keep me from enjoying myself. I can hold up and be a hermit at home! not on vacation!". And off we went! It turned out to be the BEST day and stopped raining wthin a few minutes of us getting there. :thumbsup2

5505 - a sideways cat 11.

We booked a 12GTY for 4 people so I knew we'd at least get an 11. I was hoping for a sideways 11 because I've never stayed in one before. I'm a little concerned about noise from the theater since I have two kids under 3 who nap in the afternoons and go to bed early, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it goes. The stateroom reports vary from "so loud the floor was vibrating" to "you can hear a bit of base occasionally".

But yay, room assignments!

Any of the adult couples/singles that have the color purple as their favorite color?

I love the color purple mainly cause of the Baltimore Ravens. lol. I have about 6 Ravens shirts and most of them are purple.

Makes me think maybe we should wear our Ravens shirts and Jersey's one day. lol

Room change is noted.

I thought that as the first FE giver I have deck layouts of the ship. I was going to highlight the rooms and include it with our gifts. To try and make it easier to find the rooms.

Also I am working on my FE for the teenagers and adults - But I have a very important question to ask. If you could have a soda in a can what would you ask for? Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, Dr Pepper, etc. That way I can personalize it.

My kids love Mountain Dew and Steve and I like Pepsi :thumbsup2

5505 - a sideways cat 11.

We also have sideways cat 11 cabins, 2 side by side. I booked these because of all the positive reviews I've read and apparently they have the illusion of being more spacious because of the layout.

we had friends that stayed in one of the sideways cat 11's and really liked it.
We checked it out and although I have never been in a standard cat 11 I really liked the layout.

DH really loves diet Mountain Dew.
I like sprite, but don't drink it a lot

23 days until we leave for California.

Daisy (our kitty) is at the vet today having more fluid drained. Hopefully she won't have to go back again... Or I may have to beg for change when we go to the ports ;) .
