11/15/09 Wonder

Well we have extra family members live with us and it's starting to get very stressful... But after church everything is just fine. As Pastor preacher today. This is the day that Lord has made we WILL rejoice and be glad in it.!!!!!:cool1:

Hi Everyone

Havn't been on cause in Sep had two attacks of Vertigo. The first one put me in the hospital & the second I was determined not to go.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Wow, it's hard to believe it will be here so soon.

Went to Walmart last night. I found the costume t-shirts that were mentioned in the main cruise forum. I got pirate shirts for all of us for the pirate night. We were thinking of bringing the pirate costumes for the younger ones but a t-shirt packs a lot smaller and heck, they can wear it all day.

30 more days until we leave for California!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay!

We are going to be on vacation in November more than we are at work because of going to California prior to the cruise!
:goodvibes
I wish it could be that way EVERY month!

This weekend we are going to start laying out our "florida" stuff and start planning for packing.

I think DH loves it more, but its just so fun.

Wishing you a wonderful trip to our sunshine state! :flower3:

Thanks!
It will be my first time, DH has been a couple of times.
We are spending three days with our friends before telling Abby that she is going on a Land/Sea Disney Trip with us! She is going to FLIP out!

She was talking to her mom the other day and was talking about how she hoped her trip would be next year. Hee hee.... Little does she know we booked this trip for her sometime last year!

I totally can't wait!
:dance3:

:confused3Has anyone every did the dinning plan. Since :mad:money:headache: is going to be very tight I was wondering if it would be worth it to get the dinning plan for 2 days...:confused3

Feenie What part of California you going to? My daughter is going there for her senior trip and she will more than likely go to college in Santa Clara CA..... I can not wait to go there to visit myself...:goodvibes

are you doing a land/sea package? We added the dining plan to ours. We have found that it saves us money, and its great not having to worry about what to order based on cost. One thing to consider.... They have quick service only dining plans which gives you 2 counterservice and 2 snacks per person per day (per night really) OR they have one that gives you one counterservice and one table service meal plus one snack. If you DON"T already have reservations for the sit down meals, I would try getting them before you purchase this plan as things fill up fast...

We are going to San Diego!! (in 28 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

We are using the dining plan for 4 days prior to the cruise. We got it free this time as a promotion but I was going to try the quick service plan. I think you would really like that one as those quick service meals are huge and can be split among 2 many times. And, you do not have to make reservations for those. The nice part of any of the dining plans is that you don't have to worry about money once you are there. Your meals are all paid for. If you did the quick dining, you would not even have to think about gratuity! We leave for WDW in ALMOST less than a month! I have started packing!

SO! I wrote a local news station to complain about our local small airline charing what amounts to a "family fee" to make sure you sat next to your child on the plane. We have LOTS of airline choices here but I chose one of 2 small local carriers to help them and not the "big guy". Turned out I had to pay a FEE to make sure I was seated next to my children!:scared1: That's been brewing in me for a few months and I finally wrote my favorite news channel. That was yesteday, TODAY I got a call asking if they could come out and interview me and meet my family. :scared1: I didn't WANT to be on TV but I also felt the sneaky practice that they don't tell you up front. They said I could call 24 hours before departure to ask to be seated together but if all the aisle seats and window seats were taken, by fee paying passengers, we'd be SOL. Their aircraft are set up in a 3 by 3 seat row. So only one seat per grouping of 3 isn't an aisle or wondow. Seriously, what was I supposed to do? I wasn't going to take the chance. I wanted a garuntee which they would not give me. They seemed to think, despite me saying quite clearly that I was trying to get a premium seat. I was NOT. I was trying to sit next to my husband and 2 children!

SO. I raced around the house to clean like MAD. :laundy: Removed all the cobwebs around the front door. the only place I didn't get to clean well was the kichen. Where do you think they did the interview?! :rolleyes1 It had the best natural lighting.

If they run the story and there is a link on their web site I'll share.

YOU GO GIRL :thumbsup2

Well gee!:goodvibes It wasn't so much about the $ because it wasn't too bad. $65 for all 4 of us round trip, it was the principle that I HAD to pay to be CERTAIN to sit next to my child. Excuse me but what kind of airline does that!?!?! And they used to be prided on their customer friendly service! they used to offer cheeseburgers for everyone on every flight. Even as recently as a year ago. But a major investor in their company ended up being arrested for money laundering and fraud and they had to close down for a month and reorganize quickly. THIS was one of their new "bonuses".

There is another "local" carrier I LOVE. The only deal w/ them is theya ren't direct (or exactly local in Minnesota, they are Wisconsin, but close enough that I can call them local if I want ). I have to fly into another city (only about a 40 minute flight) and then transfer to get to Orlando. BUT, their seats are HUGE! And all LEATHER! AND they give you 2 huge free and FRESH baked on the plane CC cookies! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I had my TA choose between them or Sun Country. MidWest didn't have their schedule out yet as of May (I think) for Nov. so I had to jump on the rate war that was going on. I would have paid more for my favorite carrier BUT not more than $200 more and there was no way to know what was coming. So being a worrier, I booked. Never knowing this policy.

I agree airlines seem to be nickle and diming us to death these days. Go get em Steph. :goodvibes

Steph hope things are working out for you. I did the land/sea package with airfair well they have changed our flight 3 times already plus we fly with two different airlines. going down we fly Delta coming home we fly UsAirways go figure that out. I"m not paying twice for my luggage. I can not believe they are making us pay for our luggage either. Come on $I think it's $45.oo round trip per bag per person. for me thats almost 5X45.00 +=$225.00 on top of the 7K I already piad figure that one out! I will never do this kinda of trip again..
