Good morning!

If anyone is interested, this blog features professional cakes that aren't, ummm, quite right.

http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/

Saturday was all pirate cakes with problems. On Sundays, she features beautifully done cakes - again, a pirate theme this week.

Just thought y'all might enjoy!

Thanks, I will check out the blogspot! I enjoy making cakes for family and friends.

Happy Monday everyone. Sure am looking forward to some fall weather. Just went upstairs where the A/C is broken at clocking in at 92. Glad we don't have to be up there. It's where my parents have been, but my mom is now in Taiwan breaking the news to my grandmother about my dad. We're still waiting on a couple more quotes.

Happy belated birthday Xxcell.

The weekend just flew by as usual. DH signed our family up for the youth/adult bowling league on Sunday evenings, so in between shots I have been able to do cutting I need for the FE gifts. So, they are slowly coming along. I tried to organize all the disigns have been saving from the boards into one folder for this cruise that I want to use for shirts or magnets. You think I would have done that from the get go. Oh well....

My TA just called me with prices for Alaska in 2011. I wasn't too thrilled about the prices. I don't know if we can swing it after the Baltic cruise. They are implementing that tiered category for 2011. So, we usually book a category 9 on deck 2. Now on deck 2 category 9 there are different prices depending if you want forward/aft vs mid ship. At least I have it held for now. I'll see what they look like while we are on the ship. It was still cheaper to do 2 cat 9 cabins than get one deluxe family stateroom. We'll see what the 10/28 announcement brings for the Dream.

Gotta run to the grocery store. Hope everyone has a great day.

Happy Monday everyone! We had a busy weekend too. I had my end of season soccer tournament - we didn't win one game all season and then won the very last game of the tournament on a shootout. We didn't get any trophies but we were jumping around like crazy women 'cause we finally won a game!!! You would have thought we won the World Cup.:banana:

I'm waiting to hear back about PC prices - I'm thinking it is probably way out of our budget - but a girl can dream, can't she?!??

I nearly had a panic attack on Friday when I went to work on my magnets. My DH had installed some new software and I wasn't able to edit my designs :scared1::scared1: - luckily he has put everything back the way it was - or you would have heard the screams from here....

Like Mommykeg, I too have children who want to talk before the cruise. I have a DD9 and DD4 - PM me if you are interested.....

Okay, enough chatting, I've got laundry to do and a kid to get off the schoolbus - I wish I could stay on here all day.....

Cheers everyone,
Lisa

Oh excellent! I adore cakewrecks - it is always good entertainment for an hour or two.

OMG - I have a ressie for the PC in 2011 although I am not so sure I will keep it. For what we are getting on the Wonder - 15 days - cat 11 on deck 6 forward, we could do Princess on a PC (only 10 days though) in a MINI-SUITE. Not that I would do a minisuite but a balcony anyway. I just don't understand where DCL thinks this will all end. And then they release kids sail free for some of the the Med cruises for next year - they can't even fill their ships! But, I do love that mouse.

I know, I'm thinking about booking a 2011 DCL Alaska cruise on the 28th. But I heard that the 50% deposit special is ending this Wednesday, which means that our deposit would be $2,400. :scared1: Plus, it looks like I could book both a balcony and inside stateroom with NCL with a Glacier Bay itinerary for less than 4 of us in a Cat 5C. But, we do love the mouse! I guess I'll just wait and see next Monday.

(Waving at GLindamood) We traded in our Westbound transatlantic for PC, Cat 11, deck 7. I just didn't want to fly to Barcelona, and, by the time you count that airfare, this just doesn't cost that much more.

I'm happy.

Do you mind telling me how much (feel free to PM me)? I'm trying to get an idea of how much a Cat 6 might cost......any guesses?!??

Thanks!

THANKS!!! I found it. I was figuring about $8K..I'm trying to convince DH that it's actually cheaper than 2 - 7 day cruises and very educational for the kids blah, blah, blah ....wish me luck....:thumbsup2

Actually my DH was more OK with this than I was. But, I will begin saving and see how it all plays out.

Good Morning, All!

Off to the gym and pool and then to visit the Disney Train, at a station near us, this morning. Hope Y'all have a terrific day!

Hey, I'm a Cowboy fan!! lol My hubby is watching the game. His team is Tenn. Cowboys are losing right now. :sad1:

Being that we are stationed in England right now I had to wake up at 1 AM to watch the Cowboys play. Worst mistake EVER! :sad2: I ended up in tears I was so frustrated. Romo is MUCH better than that! He needs to get his head in the game! :headache:

On a much happier note,

Less than two months!!!! WhoooHoooo!!!:cool1:

Are you at RAF Alconbury? My DH was at RAF Bentwaters back in the 70's.

Just back from getting my Hep A shot for the trip. The nurse and I were so busy chatting about cruises that I barely even noticed that I was getting a shot. :thumbsup2

It's sunny and gorgeous here today - our high today is supposed to be 89. This beautiful weather should last through the weekend, so I'm going to take my BFF to brunch at the Space Needle on Saturday as a thank-you for all the work she did on our door magnets.

Hi Mommykeg,

I tried to send you a pm but I did not have enough posts yet. So I will just reply here.

I just wanted to let you know that I have a 11 year old daughter that will also be in Ocean Quest. This cruise is going to be a total surprise for both of our DD's (we have a 14 year DD old also). I know that you wanted someone to exchange e-mails with your DD, but I thought at least she would know that there will be another girl her age there. My DD is really social and gets along very well with others. We are stationed on Terceira Island in the Azores, and she is used to traveling and meeting new friends. Her name is Jade Paris and I will look forward for her to meet your DD. Wow, this keeping a secret thing is really hard! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime.

:lmao:That is funny...but I already feel guilty on taking them on this one. i guess I will have to hope some people cancel when the bookings open this Monday for most...wondering if I should book something though?:confused3

Hope everyone is having a great week...weather is so nice here, in Sept..Crazy..hope it stays this way!

Good morning all....

I'm absolutely green-eyed jealous of everyone with the cooler temperatures! It's still in the high 80s/90s here. But then again, it'd be the same in Tallahassee. My mother in law used to live in Minnesota so I'd call her in January and February to razz her about temperatures. Of course, this is the time of year that she would call me ... I guess what goes around comes around, huh?

Other than that today is another day that I'm going to drive around to see what properties are available. I found a few places on craigslist but I'm just not sure..... with all the foreclosures and such, I'm starting to get concerned about renting from an individual. We've always had good luck with that in the past but then again, the last time we were looking for a place to rent was 10 years ago.

Hope y'all have a great day!

Wow, Denise, hope you find something not at risk. One of my gf in Orlando lives in an apartment complex that went condo - her apartment was sold, and the new owner is now in foreclosure. She doesn't know What's going to happen.

It's 66 here today. I skipped the gym and the pool because duh! I forgot to move my suit and towels to the dryer yesterday and they were still wet and very cold. NO WAY was I struggling in to a wet suit. Yuck!
