I know that one can "move" the date without problems as long as it is before the final payment date....my question is more for, pricing. If I change the date...do I still get the discount? Do I pay the difference?
What if I book anouther cruise on Sept 28....can I go on board during our cruise and cancel the original to re-book and get the discount if that is a better deal?
don't feel badly to miss the reception. It used to be quite fab - with elaborate goodies and free drinks. Anymore, there are SO many repeat cruisers that the party has become much more simple and crowded. I'm sure that's why they introduced the tiered system.
Thanks, I think I am over it.![]()
I am just so excited and counting down the days.![]()
I'm sure most of the have seen/heard about the new cruises coming up for 2011...
ALASKA baby!!!(on the Wonder), Mexican Rivera, several Repositioning cruises for the Wonder (a Panama Canal Crossing, a LA to Vancouver, then a Vancouver to LA), A Trans-Atlantic (On the Magic), as well as the Med (also on the Magic), and to top aal that off 3/4/and 5 night cruises for the Dream!!!
Holy cow that's one very active cruis schedule for Disney... Wish I could take 1 of each cruise that year, but I think we'll be taking an Alaskan Cruise only.
Here is my understanding. If you have a dummy cruise booked and move the date, you still keep the discount, BUT the discount is applied to the price of the new cruise. So if the new cruise is more expensive than the dummy cruise, you would have to make up the difference.
What I was told today is that if you book on the 28th, then bring your confirmation # with you on our cruise and go to the re-booking desk. The CM will tell you whether they can get you a better price for that cruise.

Wow. Talk about perfect timing. We are planning on taking an Alaskan cruise in 2011 to celebrate DH's 50th birthday. I'll be booking when the dates open on September 28th. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some discounts when we're onboard in November toward that cruise, but I figured that I'd better book straight out of the gate for the lowest prices. Now I have to try to talk our good friends into going. I already warned her that I'm going to sic my kids onto hers to convince them to cruise with us.Huh, I think I've been hanging around Denise too long. No, wait, I was like this beforehand.

My DH is doing the zipline through DCL also - Hope he can join you and KC - so you can take each others photo! Because there is NO way in heck I am going!!!!
I am going to try to fine the info on IM (which I have no idea what that is) on the info on spreadsheet for my kiddos. Hey, I printed the DDD graphic this morning.
.......
I started to read all the post last night. I am so tired this morning. I got to page 23.

Also we figured another way to make the cruise feel really close. Just count the number of pay checks until then!![]()
So what is the benefit of booking when on board if the 10% discount is only taken on "dummy" date and when you decide on the "real" date you have to pay the price of the cruise at that time?? Does the 10% discount carry over?
Y'all check out what I just found over on the DCL pics thread. A Konk Kooler in a plastic coconut!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm, I probably didn't explain that very well. The discount does carry over, but it is applied to the price of the new cruise, which tend to be higher priced than old ones. So, for example, you book a dummy date onboard that costs $4,000, so after 10% discount, your price is $3,600. Sometime later you decide on your real date. The cost of that cruise is $4,600, so after 10% discount, your cost of that cruise is $4,140.
Thanks for shaking this rock head of mine.
I understand now. I think my brain was in fry mode as I was working on the FE gifts all day yesterday and I am proud to say that they are finished!!! ok now to just get the final numbers, room # and to "package them and we are ON!!!! I swore to myself no more Michaels...no more AC moore, etc....no more crafts! I hope you all like them...this is my first attemtp of being crafty and creative and my first visits to these crafts stores!
Just can not wait until "When you wish upon the star is blasting the air!"![]()
