I'm too much of a chicken to use Hotwire or Priceline although I know that some people have gotten some very good deals. With my luck, I'd end up at Sam's Sleazy Hideaway with bedbugs and cockroaches (no offence to any Sams out there...):rotfl2::rotfl2:

Okay, that thought just made me itchy....

Lisa

LOL. I know exactly what you mean. Supposedly, there is a way to get the MCO Hyatt on Hotwire, but I, too, have the fear of ending up at Sam's Sleazy Hideaway. :lmao:

Hey there, hi there, ho there all!

I know, I know... I've been MIA. All I can do is apologize and beg your forgiveness. As KC mentioned, I quit my job. Now, I know that's probably not one of my wisest moves in this economy but he gave the OK so I jumped. I've always wanted to work for myself and this project was just the one to give it a try on. They have lots of stuff that they want now and more in the future so I know it'll be a source of ongoing work. And I'm going to pound the pavement, old-fashioned style, to drum up some more work. It's all about the relationships, you know... but that means that I have that much less time for the important things in life --- Y'ALL!!!!!!

KC, I asbolutely love your advice!!! A Dole Whip is soooooooo much better than all the psychobabble!!!! And any fear I have regarding striking out on my own will be more than overcome by the trepidation of facing Madame Leaota again. Or maybe it's inspiration from Carlos, the mayor in POTC who "weel not talk"! Or maybe it's just my tradition of arriving at the door of the Rose & Crown at 10:55 waiting for them to open up so I can grab a Bass and head back to the garden and call mom. (That's become a tradition for us... get a Bass Ale and head back to the garden to call mom... even better when the British Invasion is playing). Hey, maybe we'll get really lucky and you'll get picked to be King Arthur in the street play. Yeah, I know you wouldn't do it..... but a girl can dream, can't she?

Lisa - I didn't know at the time that I was going to squeeze in a WDW trip. This was a surprise to me. In fact, last night I told him I understood that money was tight and that if he was doing this just for me he didn't have to. I finally made him understand how hard that was for me to say and that I could only be expected to say it one time. Well, we're still going! LOL

Linda Babe - Pixie Dusters are the name I came up with for all the wonderful folks that are planning stuff to do on the cruise. These ladies are taking their home time to plan stuff so we can all have even more fun and if that ain't spreading the pixie dust I don't know what is. :-)

Mousemom - yeah, he's definitely good at the motivation! :rotfl2: Also, I just saw your message from the 7th. Sorry I never got to answer the PM. I'm quite impressed with your plan and can't wait!!!!

What? Our children? Misbehave? Perish the thought!!!! Well, maybe mine... they're teenagers you know and that explains a lot. In fact, I heard that when you turn 13 God comes to you at night and unscrews the top of the skull, takes out your good brain, and gives you a teenaged one. I think it's at about age 21 when He comes back and reverses the process. Although I've heard it can be much later in life. I guess He just gets too busy to remember which brain goes with which person. But that's my teenagers. I've seen pics of y'all's kids and there's no way these perfect little angels would misbehave.

Good Lawd, Binky!!!! $3K for a ticket????? Is that one ticket or the whole family? Still, for $3K it'd better be the freakin' Brady Bunch!!!!!!

Big Jack.... I'll post updated info from the spreadsheet in the next post... that'll have the count as it currently stands. Of course, I'm guessing that we're going to add a few people as the cruise gets nearer so you may want to make a few extras.

I envy all you folks that have time to make FE gifts. With any luck at all, I'm going to stay so busy that I'll have to beg your understanding at a storebought something or other.

Michelle, did you get the PMs you needed from the pixie dusters? I'll PM you with a list of who all's doing what and you can PM anyone who's MIA (like me)

I'm getting excited over here! Only 184 days. That's just over 26 weeks!!!! Oh, guess what I found the other day! I found the left over Mickey heads from the Home Depot paint chips. On the last trip we put them on the back door and every morning I'd play the cruise horn and one of the kids would take down a Mickey head. I'm going to do this again but I have to see how many I have left. I'm sure I don't have 184, but I have to find out what I have. Surely KC wouldn't mind me using them up .... I mean, otherwise they'd go to waste, right? Right?

Big Jack... I believe you were the one that has several rooms and several people, right? And I think you sent me a PM so I could get everything right on the spreadsheet. But now I can't find the PM. Any chance you could re-send it?

And if it wasn't Big Jack, then whoever it was, please re-send.

Here's the info from the spreadsheet as it currently stands:

Families
17 points of contact (i.e., Dissers)
I know of 2 that are bringing extended families
1 extended family will require 2 staterooms
The other extended family will require 6 staterooms as they're bringing 18 people. I think that's Big Jack but I'll know for sure later.

Bottom line.... these are the numbers as of now. I know they're going to change as we add people. I'll try to make sure to post this weekly. Hey, it's only 26 posts, right? LOL

Adults = 39
males = 16
females = 23

Children (not including teenagers) = 20
males = 4 (one is going to be 25 mo old)
females = 16

Teenagers (hey... they're a breed of their own, right?) = 3 (all boys)

Dining
Late = 7
Early = 8
(yes, we're missing one... it's from the family with 18 ppl)

Dressing for pirate nite? 14

Fish Exchange? 14 (almost everyone)(one doesn't have a reply... I'll PM that person)

Dismeet on Sat? One "no" and one non response (I've already PM'd that person) so a total of 15 families

I have been MIA as well Denise - sometimes things just get in the way. Your new career path sounds like it is working out perfectly, good for you!

Brunch News - we need to make a decision with brunch. I was reading on another thread here on the DIS and there was a great deal of talk regarding the problems a group had when they linked their dining reservations (which is what we have to do to go for the private dining room) when trying to book other things online at their 120/90/60 day mark. Only ONE of the reservations is allowed online at a time and I don't think we want to do that do we?? Plus - we all have to make our brunch ressies anyway so it just isn't logical to me. Or, we can link them AFTER our 120/90/60 day mark. What do you all think? I don't want to do this and then have someone shut out of something else.

Good job to those of you that have booked your flights. I got our straightened out satisfactorily as well - and it does not involve that 5:35AM flight! :woohoo:

We were planning to just do the Palo brunch with our DIS buddies, so that will not affect the Mouse family Palo ressies. If you are asking whether or not we want to do the DIS brunch at all, the Mouse family votes a resounding YES.

Glad to hear that you don't have to get up at 0-dark-hundred to catch your flight. Only 5 weeks until SW releases their November dates!!

Here's some interesting news. My daughters' passports arrived today, less than 2 weeks after we applied. We didn't expedite them or pay for express mailing - it was just the normal course of business. Nice going Seattle passport office. However, DH and my passports have not come yet. The difference being that the girls were getting new passports, while DH and I were renewing expired passports. This jives with what I read on another thread that renewals seem to take longer than new ones.

Just an FYI for you all on the current processing times. I'll let you know how long it takes for DH and mine to arrive.

I can remember reading about the monthS it took some to get their passports back when the New Orleans office was closed from the hurricane's. And, with that season upon us soon - don't dawdle (gee, my mom must be here, that is her word) and have yours get hung up but get them ordered soon.

Thanks!!! I hope it works out. It's been weird to be home all day, but I'm starting to get used to it. Now if I can just keep it going and growing.

And congrats on your flight!

My thoughts on the Palo thing are we should wait until after maybe the 60 day mark to link the ressies if it's going to mess anyone up. I mean, we all book our own ressies anyway, right? But after they're done we link them together?

Worst case scenario is we each book our own reservation all for the same time but then can't get the private room and then we sit in the regular dining room. I kinda think this group would be the life of the room, that's for sure. :rotfl2: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :hippie: :love: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:
(and for the rest of the people in the room :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:)

But then again, maybe I'm just very confused.

Back to the code................

Oh, PS.... Got BigJack's numbers today. They're bringing half a small freakin' country!!!! :rotfl2: Got just a few more bits of info to get and then I'll republish spreadsheet numbers.

Now back to the code....................

Hi Gang,
I have a question...has anyone ever stayed at Buena Vista Suites near WDW? Got a great deal but now I am second guessing myself...anyone have first hand experience?

Still waiting for SW to open flights in June for November...started on FE gifts! I am getting way too excited! What am I going to do for 6 months?:surfweb:

Booked our flights and our Disney stay at POFQ for 3 nights/4 days after the cruise yesterday!!

Us too! We've never stayed at POFQ before (just POP). But we booked for the week following our cruise too! (Hey, we're already in the area...) It'll be so good to see friendly faces! Boy, I hope we can find a discount on those rooms before then.

Ooohhhh.... POFQ - home of the best made-when-you-order beneigts in the world!!!!!

What kind of a deal? Should we be looking into it as well?

And what is POFQ?

We LOVE POFQ!! We've stayed at a couple of other places but it's my first choice. It doesn't seem as big as the others, the kids love the pool and it's a short boat ride to Downtown Disney. If the price goes down, I'll just cancel and rebook. Now that we've got our flights lined up, I'm a happy camper!!

Cheers,
Lisa

Oops, sorry Connie - you and I must have posted at the same time - POFQ is Port Orleans French Quarter (now you know why it's abbreviated)

Let's see, 12pm Central means 1pm Eastern. So six months from now we'll be dining at a lovely pre-board buffet (probably Parrot Cay) and getting ready for the DisMeet in an hour! :yay:

What kind of a deal? Should we be looking into it as well?

And what is POFQ?

I got $99 a night, free hot breakfast and free parking. This is supposedly a nice all suite hotel literally less than 5 minutes to the parks. The rooms look nice and they each come with a fridge and microwave as well. I think it looks great...check it out...
