Sounds like we chose the right moderate resort! We just might have to look into those home made beignets!:thumbsup2I am hoping to get a 30-40% discount on the room. Do you guys think this is probable? Free dining or buy 4 get three free would be great too!:banana:See you all in6 months!

I got $99 a night, free hot breakfast and free parking. This is supposedly a nice all suite hotel literally less than 5 minutes to the parks. The rooms look nice and they each come with a fridge and microwave as well. I think it looks great...check it out...

That is a good deal for a suite but I just booked the Caribe Royale nearby before reading your post. It's also a suite with free parking but no hot breakfast for $129 with the Mousesavers discount. I checked Expedia for Buena Vista Suites just to compare but the price was $140???

Lisa - checked into POFQ... nice place! But we're opting for a non-Disney resort to save a few $$ for the DOTD.

DH and my passports arrived today, 2 weeks after we applied :goodvibes One less thing to worry about.

On another subject, I need experienced cruisers' advice. I was reading in the DCL Passporter last night that your cruise docs arrive in the mail 10-14 days in advance of the cruise. Our problem is that we fly to Orlando 10 days before the cruise. Do we really need these docs? Or is it all stuff we can do online? If we do need the docs, will DCL mail them to us earlier if we ask them to?

As I recall, you can fill out all the forms online, print and bring them with you. The only thing in the docs that I remember needing was the luggage tags for dropping off your bags at the port (so they know what room to deliver them to).

The last time we sailed, our packet arrived about 2-1/2 weeks before we left. Connie is correct, everything you need is online so that you can fill it out ahead of time and no need to worry about the tags as the porters will have blank ones when you drop your bags off.

If anyone is interested (& it's not against some rule to post)
I found a site with updated menus for the cruise:
http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/cruise/dining/menus.html
Or maybe I'm behind the curve & everyone else already knows about it.:flower3:

Unfortunately, those are the "OLD" menus and will not be in effect by the time we sail. The new menus, MUCH discussed on the cruise line forum, will take effect June 13th on the Magic.

I may be in the minority but I'm not worried about the new menus. I know that there was a bit of an uproar about the changes (especially from people who hadn't even cruised yet which I always think is a little funny - no offence) but I figure that as long as I don't have to cook it, serve it and clean up after it, it's all good!!

Having said that of course I can't wait until someone sails in June and posts the new menu - I want to see all the yummy goodies too!!

Having been through menu changes before, I can tell you that it isn't a big deal. And, binky1 is correct, if I don't have to think it up, get the ingredients, cook it, put napkins in everyone's laps, serve it and clean up after it I say bring it on!

Happy Saturday everyone! Raining here so all those east of me, be on the look out.

I went on BVS website and they had that special along with Mousesavers. BVS is a sister hotel to Caribe Royale. I went with it since it was all newly rennovated and most importantly, cheaper! We are staying offsite too, since we will only be at the parks for 1 day before the cruise and we will have a car to get to the port.

New to the Boards. We are going on the Double CC cruise too. Can't wait.
Got our Airline flights booked and ready to pack our bags.

This will be our 4th DCL cruise.

I noticed they seem to have added some more excursions. I was wondering as I browsed, is it better to book excursions through DCL or on your own?

It seems cheaper doing it yourself. We are def doing the Dolphin encounter, but I see now that they have it in Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

Oh yeah, got $138 RT on Airtran from the NY area. Would have liked JetBlue, but I was inpatient and couldn't wait for the JB sched.

Great website and everyone seems so friendly. Just need to learn all the abbreviations.

:welcome: Here's a link to the abbreviations used on these boards that you might find helpful. http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm

My family decided to book our excursions on our own - we save money and can do exactly what we want. We're doing the dolphins at Chankanaab in Cozumel and the stingrays in Grand Cayman. There are a couple groups of DIS folks who are doing the dolphins at Chankanaab. One group is doing the Encounter and the other group is doing the Royal Swim. If you are interested in joining us, just holler. I'm in the group doing the Royal Swim and can give you info on that. I can't remember who is in the Encounter group, but if you post here that you're interested in that, someone from that group will get info to you.

Just booked the cruise and tickets for the DD and can not wait!:cool1: It will be myslef, DH, DS (5), DS (2).

I have been reading the links and would like to join in on the FE fun...how does it work? We have never done this before. THX to all those who are organizing.

A big welcome to our new families!!!!! We are a super fun group and all completely obsessed with our DD. I can't remember the post number to check out website and cruise info. I will look tomorrow unless someone else chimes in...Denise, is our top organizer...she will hook you all up for sure!

We would love to join the group for the dolphins.

IM sure its posted somewhere in here, but I figured you might know, why the Dolphins at Chankanaab and not Dolphinarus?

And thanks for the welcome to the boards, I would have loved to join before. I just happened across it the other day, it is so full of info and everyone seems so nice.

Ye, the dd at cc is why we booked. On our last cruise(eastern) they had engine probs and could not get into the dock at CC.
We were all standing at the back of the ship, cheering it on as we got closer, then woosh, the current took us.
Can you imagine the feeling,so close, yet so far.
They tried I think 5 or 6 times and then gave up. What a bummer.
So we are so ready for cc.

Thanks again for the reply.

Hi Again,

Just saw some posts on the Dolphin Excursions. It sounds like the Royal swim is the one we want. The park looks great.
Could we join up with you? If you already have it set, no worries.

Thanks

We want the Dolphin Encounter, but have been reading on the boards that Dolphin Discovery has a new policy regarding cruise ship bookings. Anyone already booked? Who is in the Encounter group? I remember one of the families that was in it, switched sailings...My group consists of DH, myself,
DD8, and DD4 (1 month away from turning 5).
