Woo hoo! My 2009 DCL Passporter arrived today :banana::banana:

I can't wait to dive into it. Now that my brain cells are recovering from tax season, I can focus on the important stuff, like the cruise. :thumbsup2

That's too funny - I was just lying on my couch reading the 2008 Passporter and thinking should I get the new one?!?!? Nah - save the money for a couple of DODs....:rotfl::rotfl:

Cheers,
Lisa

I was thinking about my new passporter and wondering when it would ship this morning! Yea!! I can't wait until it gets here!!!!:yay:

Beautiful weather expected here for the weekend - VERY warm (25C). It's our Community Cleanup where we go out and pick up all the garbage in our neighbourhood that's accumulated over the winter. (Easier to see when there are no leaves on the trees and bushes).

Going out this afternoon to look for FE stuff. Does anyone remember if someone offered to coordinate this or not?? I really should go back and read over the pages but since we're now up to this many pages, I thought it would be easier just to ask!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Lisa

I ordered our FE yesterday and am having it customized. I'll post a pic when it arrives. Since this is our first Disney cruise and I have no clue about FE gifts, can the more experienced cruisers give me some suggestions?

Some of the best FE gifts we have received are a tube of avon lip balm (who knew you'd need that on a tropical cruise - we used the crap out of that stuff) Pixie sticks (they were given out half way through a two week cruise and the timing was perfect) glow sticks, we gave out cd's of favorite tropical/vacation songs...and we have done bubbles (ya know, the kind in the little "wedding" tubes) but the best gift received was a pocket pack of tissues on the last night...they printed "now it's time to say goodbye to all our family...." with a crying mickey picture on each pack...we definately used the tissues the next morning.:guilty:

Try oriental trading, they have a ton of kitchy group type gifts.

Thanks, I looked on the oriental trading website and there are tons of really cool things. Typically, does each family just do one round of FE gifts on the cruise or do you give out gifts each day?

Hi Everyone..... I just wanted to come and let you guys know that the Tink family has decided to cancel this cruise. We just got the kids academic schedule for next year and it is standardlized testing for us.... :sad2: So we can not pull the kids out of school.... So Kris (I think is the keeper of the list) you can remove us. We were looking fwd to making this voyage with such an active group, but things come up.... I wanted you to know here just in case someone wanted to call if you wanted 1st dinner, you can get ours since it will now be available in just a few minutes.... :hippie: I will still make pillowcase for those that wanted them. You just have to contact me with the information.... We will still be on the boards as we have cruised with DCL so many times, we will just transfer this reservations. It was going to be our
1st DD though. Maybe next time the timing will be better. I guess I need a  right now. Bummer....
 Tink

:grouphug: I am so sorry to hear that you won't be able to cruise with us. I'm sure that you are disappointed. Here's a sympathy hug. I so hate it when real life interferes with my Disney life. Hopefully you can get your schedule worked out and transfer to another cruise. :grouphug:

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that:sad1::sad1:...my DD8 is having her standardized testing at the end of May so next academic year is good for us. I'm sure there will be another Double Dip in your future. And who knows, maybe you'll join us all on the Wonder Repo in 2011??!?!?!??:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Cheers,
Lisa

Thanks guys.... I needed some of my "Mousettes" to understand. I just called about 30 minutes ago and transferred it, just to open up this sailing for someone else and to open up dinner for someone stressing over it... I just told a friend and her reply was "Who cares. You have been on how many of these cruises. Just move it." :sad2: She does not understand... The good thought is, we will for sure get on the Dream. We have another Eastern book too. Thanks mousemom for the  I will still peep in now and then.... :thumbsup2

Sorry you won't be on our Voyage, tinkermom! Some times it just sucks having to be an adult!

Hey there, hi there, ho there everyone! Finally I have a chance to get back on the cruise thread. Oh, man... you wouldn't believe how busy my life has been lately.

First off, last weekend there was the Young Marines camping trip. Oh, sorry... they call it an "encampment". And they were working on the Qualified Field Skills ribbon.... which is just the fancy military way of saying the camping merit badge, er, uh, ribbon. And guess who volunteered to organize the trip and teach the material for the ribbon. Yup... you guessed it. When am I going to learn to say no? But who else is going to be as qualified as someone that's been in Boy Scouting for something like 7 years now? So I had to.

And we've got another encampment next weekend to finish up the ribbon. So I have to get prepared for that.

And I'm helping out at Cub Scout University today so I have to drive up to Bainbridge (about an hour away) so I have to go get in the shower in just a bit.

When am I going to learn to say no? I think when I get home tonight I'm definitely going to need a few drinks of the day.

And that's not even the biggest news.... I resigned from my job this week!!!!! I've been wanting to quit for a long time. I won't get into all the details (because who knows how information may get forwarded on the internet) but let's just suffice it to say that the way the boss ran the company is diametrically opposed to the way I think it should be run. So, since it's his company and one of us had to go, I'm going. I'm going to do the contracting thing for a while and see how that goes. Got some good leads already on contracts. Hope it pans out. Of course, I'm also eyeing the Orlando job market. If the right job comes along I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of moving to Orlando. I know you know what I mean? :rotfl2:

So.... let me get caught up.......

rollerblades for $100. He wanted to give them away :scared1::scared1: - I said NO WAY - that could buy quite a few DODs!!

Is your hubby nuts?!?!? :scared1::scared1: Glad you set him right straight!!!!

Has anyone calculated what day the "105 days out" fall on?
My math's not so gooder :teacher: (and I'm lazy)

I particularly like your English! :rotfl2:

Whoo Hoo, we're coming, too.

Peter (50):earsboy: First Disney Cruise

Thea (40) princess: Fourth Disney Cruise

Mekayla (13) pirate: Fourth Disney Cruise

So, what'd I miss?:surfweb:

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:
Great to have you in the group. Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll hook you up with the spreadsheet on which a lot of info is being kept and the "private" boards. (private in quotes because it's not really secure other than I'm careful with who I give the URL out to).

I saw further down what you were saying about not knowing what your teenager is going to feel like doing other than being away from mom and dad. I've got two boys (15 and 13) that are going so maybe they'll enjoy hanging out together.

We marked August 1st on our calendar!! Is someone in charge of the Fish Exchange?

I don't think anyone's actually in charge of it, but I'd have to look at my document to be sure and I've got to go get in the shower in just a minute. But I know the spreadsheet includes who'all's participating in the FE so that should help.

That's too funny - I was just lying on my couch reading the 2008 Passporter and thinking should I get the new one?!?!?

Save the money for the DODs.... the info doesn't change that much from year to year.

I ordered our FE yesterday and am having it customized. I'll post a pic when it arrives. Since this is our first Disney cruise and I have no clue about FE gifts, can the more experienced cruisers give me some suggestions?

Last year we gave out pirate themed stuff we got from Oriental Trading. We gave out pencils and little pads of paper and yo yos and mini beach balls. Basically, it's just small stuff... kind of like what you'd put in a goody bag at a kids birthday party. Of course, some people do more than that but that's the kind of thing I do.

Hi Everyone..... I just wanted to come and let you guys know that the Tink family has decided to cancel this cruise.

Oh noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally understood though. Gotta do what's right for the kids education.

That's definitely one of the reasons I'm so glad my kids are (and DS13 will be next year) home schooled. Now I just got to come up with some educational stuff for them to do on board. Actually, I think they're going to have to work on a journal every morning before they can leave the room. That'll be a good start. Should be a lot of fun reading what they right about the dolphin encounter (DS13) and the zipline (DS15).

I just told a friend and her reply was "Who cares. You have been on how many of these cruises. Just move it." :sad2: She does not understand...

We have to forgive the mundanes for they know not what they say, right? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Okay, I guess that's about it for now. Really have to go get in the shower after I check my PMs on here.

Only 202 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now let me leave you with something I found on YouTube this morning... just a little bit of fun in anticipation of the real thing.

:goodvibesGood luck on the job front. I'm sure everything will work out great for you! :thumbsup2

200 Days!!! We're at 200 days, people!

Make those lists!
Buy those FE gifts!
This is not a drill, people!
Move it! Move it! Move it!!

What?!? only 200 days:scared1: Geesh I finally put our luggage away from our most recent cruise and now I only have 200 days until I need it again. Maybe I should have just left it out.;) Actually it seems like forever until this cruise.

Wooooooot!!!!! 200 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now it's time to really get busy!! I'll try to get an update set of numbers up sometimes this week. And Pixie Dusters, I'll be contacting you through PM to see how things are going on your front.

Only 200 days and I'll be sitting on the marvelous Magic with a cold drink in my hand waiting for my room to become available!!!

200 days?!?!?!?:scared1::scared1::scared1: I better get my butt in gear!!

Hypermommy, if no one has offered - I will organize the FE. I am a newbie (no one on our last cruise was interested :confused3) so if others can let me know what worked that would be great. I think I read somewhere of someone making copies of deck plans and highlighting the rooms that were participating - I can do that.....

I'm getting excited....now if I could only find cheap airfare - come on JetBlue - open up those dates!!!!

Cheers everyone,
Lisa

Hey Binky, when does Jet Blue open up their dates? I am dying here! I got the girls FE stuff done, and have started on the adults. DH has to help me on that one!

On another note folks...anyone concerned about the Swine Flue garbage? Since we live in California I am a bit concerned to say the least...this is all I needed to push me over the cliff that I am barely holding on to!:surfweb:

Welcome to all our new peeps and a sad :grouphug: to Tink. Big bummer for sure!

Re: JetBlue - someone said June 23rd - don't know if my ticker can take the stress of waiting that long..... I know that airfares will go on sale but :scared1::scared1:...and since I'm the super-planner type, I'm a little anxious to say the least - I'm going to keep checking though.....

I'm not worried about the Swine Flu - considering all the germs my children bring into this house from pre-school/school - I'm not surprised that we're not all sick, all the time....The worst was the Norovirus - every washroom in our home was occupied (if you know what I mean) - if we never see that again, it won't be too soon!!!

It's dreary and raining very hard here today but everything is greening up and there are buds on the trees so I think Spring is (finally) here!!

Have a good day everyone!!
