As a blizzard rages outside (thanks Gail for sending it our way ;)), I can honestly say that no, we would not cruise in the summer. Our warm weather does not last that long (May - Sept) so the opportunity to travel somewhere warm when the snow starts to fly is very appealing!!

There's something to be said for leaving your parka & snowboots behind in the car and getting off a plane to see palm trees and drink a fruity cocktail - I don't think there's any other feeling quite like it.....:cloud9:

Happy Easter everyone!!

Honest - I did not address it to your house. Actually, we only got about an inch and that is now gone. The mid-section of the state got hit the hardest.

Our first trip to WDW was December 19-24, 1989 (the year Drew was born and we left him with grandma and grandpa) and I thought I was being smart by leaving my coat in the car at the airport. They shut the monorail down due to ice on the rails. The windchill that last night was ZERO when we got out of the restaurant after dinner. I was SICKer than a dog when I got home. Things have changed and thank heaven for the internet and being able to check the weather report before you leave.

Well, have a great evening everyone. Tomorrow is hump day!

I find it odd that I can't be happy with the back 2 back I have booked for this year but the fact that I have to think about a repo in 2011.

You're not alone! We're b2b this year same as you - AND we've signed up for the westbound repo in 2010:rotfl:

I don't have anything booked after this year. I am so hoping that they begin booking while we are onboard for the 2011 dates. I do need to figure something out for next year though.

Oh Moooommmmmm.... You know, we're trying the cruise every other year thing. 2011 would be our next year... Wouldn't a repo be lovely? All that time at sea?

And if we could book on board - we'd get a discount AND I think we get onboard credit!

(We could even arrange our flights to stop in Vegas on the way home!)

:scared1::scared1::scared1:Page three???:scared1::scared1::scared1:

..I don't think so. I wish you all a Hoppy Easter. It will be quiet here. Youngest DS has finals next week so he isn't coming home until next Sunday - between finals, graduation and stopping to visit a friend on the way, it will take that long. Hope all his "stuff" fits in his car as we are not planning on helping. I bet he has way more stuff than what he thinks he does.

2011 repo - I wish I could remember better (getting old is just no fun). When we were on the 10/04 western sailing last year they announced the Med cruises but for the life of me, I can not remember when the bookings began. I so want to do that - right after I so want to do this back to back anyway.

I just copied our agenda from Disney and at the bottom it says:
**Each guest may dine at Palo only once per cruise for each meal - Dinner, Brunch and High Tea.
Now granted I didn't plan on eating there every night (or maybe I was)
So does this mean if we do our group Brunch, the hubby and I could not do another brunch alone?
Because I had planned on Dinner, brunch & Tea plus our group brunch.
:confused3

That is correct - you will not be able to book two brunches online as one of the ones you need to book is the group (unless you decide to dine only with your hubby). But, since we are doing brunch early in the week, you may be able to get a second one later in the week via waitlist. But, with only two sea days there are not that many options to be able to do brunch so it may not come through - always worth a shot though.

Hey Everyone,
Hoping all our disbuds are safe with all the tornados in the south today...I haven't booked while onboard before, so someone fill me in. If the dates for the 2011 (repo) haven't been released by the time we sail, can't we still book a dumby date and still get the discount and OBC when the dates are ultimately released?:surfweb:

DD is turning 8 on Sunday...so our weekend is booked. Not much cruise planning time for us in the next few days...hate it when that happens!

Hope everyone has a nice Easter! The EB is busy at our house. EB got a few things for the cruise...

Where did you get the agenda?

:bday: to your DD!

Yes, you can book a dummy date onboard (typically the dummy cruise is a December date) and then move your ressie to your actual date. You can move your ressie more than once until you finally decide which cruise you want to do. The key is to move your ressie, not cancel and re-book. Move=keep your discount and OBC, cancel=lose them.

Where did you get the agenda?

I booked thru Dreams Unlimited. So I took my disney reservation # from there. then went to http://disneycruise.reservations.disney.go.com
Then go to MY Cruise Plans. It will let you print off where we will be on each day of the trip and also show any excursions/reservations you've made. Of course it's so far out at this point you can't book anything so all you can get is the itinirary.
If anyone would like me to post what day we'll be where just let me know.

mentioned to her that I checked out an eastern cruise for December 2010 and before I could finish what I was telling her, she said "BOOK IT!".

That's it! I'm calling your mom to see if she can adopt me! I'm house-trained and everything!!!! :rotfl2:

our oldest DD will be in middle school starting in 2010 and our school frowns on taking them out for lengthy vacations once they start middle school.

OMG!! Don't even get me STARTED on schools! The school frowns on you taking them out. So does ours. It was all I could do not to tell the school that I don't care what they like and don't like, they're still MY children. I get so sick of the school system sometimes. I sure hope EM#2 decides to do virtual school next year. Then we can schedule his vacation time when it works for US.

Anyone ever seen Pink Floyd's "The Wall"? That's how I feel about the public school system. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: What is it that Susan B. Anthony quotes from Tom Edison in "The American Adventure"... something about discontent being the first prerequisite of progress.

What a bummer!

:bday: to Susie's daughter (who would probably NOT like herself referred to as Susie's baby girl as my fingers tried to do at first) and happy Easter to all!

Oh, and I got the password and all I needed so if you go out to the private site now you can download the graphic and then go out to zazzle.com to make t-shirts and whatever else you'd like to make. If you have any questions or issues, please let me know.

Ugh... gotta go dig out my old tent. Camping next weekend with EM#1 and the Young Marines. Should be interesting... I'm used to being with Boy Scouts who have been camping since they were Tiger Cubs (age 7), but many of these Young Marines haven't camped. It'll be interesting to see how things go. :scared1: Y'all wish me luck!

Actually, she doesn't mind. She gets annoyed that she has to share the spot with her little sister...DD8 thanks you!!!! She said, "our cruise friends are so nice!

I'll order some shirts next week...this weekend is busy with the birthday festivities and Easter!

Found us on page three :scared1: - I don't think so!

I hope that everyone had a great Easter/birthday weekend and survived Monday - my personal least favorite day of the week. It sure gets a bad rap, doesn't it??

:banana::banana::banana: June 23rd is the date!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Southwest opens flight purchases for November 1 - January 15th!!! I just checked their October airfares and they are looking sweet. The price for the trip is about $800 less than when I priced it using November 2008 fares last year.

Anybody have any ideas when JetBlue might be releasing their November dates?!?!? Info on flights is still only available until October 31st....argghhh.....

And a public service announcement:

ONLY SEVEN MORE MONTHS TO PLAN AND PACK!!!!
You may now return to your regularly scheduled DCL daydream.
