11/10/11- 3-Night on the Dream

I just found out about this board and I am very new to posting so I hope I am doing this right!
We will be on the Dream with 10 of us (5 kids ages 1, 5, 8, 10 and 14). It is our first Disney cruise but we have visted the park many times over the years. We will be starting in the park on November 3 at the Animal Kingdom and then the Contemporary. I am so excited to be trying the DCL as we have never sailed on Disney. I have a feeling the kids are going to get off the ship on the 13th and tell me it was not long enough! So maybe another sailing will be in our future! Look forward to meeting some of you on the ship!

Hi everyone! I read the cruise boards every day but keep forgetting about this thread. It will be me, DH, DS15 and DS8. I have my fish extender gifts bought and some ordered waiting to arrive. Countdown calender on wall- 17 days. Pirate outfits are all sewn just have, still sewing vests for boys and have to sew fish extender

Welcome!

And hopefully, yes, they'll say it was too short. This cruise will have plenty of folks from NJ. Look at the MAGIC sailings from NYC next year, with 5 children you'll save a ton on airfares if you're flying to Florida.
And rebook onboard, at least with a dummy date, to grab the discount, onboard credit, and reduced deposit.

They will say "We don't wanna get off the ship!!!" Im 14 and i love Disney cruises and this is my families 7 Disney cruise! Other cruise lines can not surpass their personal service!Plus you will not see you lids at all!! The children activities on board are one of the best in the industry.

Okay my Disney cruizin peeps. We are just over 2 weeks away. Any other solo parents interested in a Palo dinner?

I have a reservation for 6p on 10NOV.

DH not with me this sailing and DS is going to enjoy the Edge. I completely enjoyed Palo on a previous cruise years ago and look forward to the experience again. However, I really do not wish to be alone, or a 3rd wheel with another couple. Not sure how CM's assign tables to solo parents. . .

Just throwin out the invite in case there was anyone else out there in a similar situation. :)

Kim

This will be my 10yrs annivsary. We have been to Disney several times but never a crusie. We are so excited abiut the trip. I have one question. Do we have to dress up as Pirates for the party? We have never been on a cruise before.

Just booked this today as a gty veranda. Do NOT like not knowing where my cabin is! Will be myself, my 3 DDs, 8,13 and 17. Also my sister and her granddaughter, just short of being 5. Oldest DD found out when she saw the confirmation e-mail. We will keeping it from my sister's granddaughter as she is the only one who has never been before. Can't wait to see her face. I may also keep it from my youngest, but she may figure it out. Will be a quick visit, driving down Wed. afternoon and back on Sunday so kids don't miss school. Loved the Dream our first time and can't wait to see her again!

I would love to do Palo! Let me check with my sister!

I just cancelled a cabana at Castaway Cay (#2-great location) if someone wants to try and snatch it up!

My DS7 received his call from Mickey Mouse yesterday hyping him up about the cruise. I could see his excitement as he listened to Mickey! When the recorded message ended and hung up, my son got upset and said "that was RUDE, I did not even get a chance to tell him anything", and stormed off. I could not help but laugh and tell him that Mickey has 1,000 other kids to call, he was in a rush..

Looking forward to the fun!!!:yay:

Awww!

I'm just about packed as I will be going to see my son swim both Sat. and Sun. and I will leave straight from work on Wed. It is really difficult getting everything in the two carry-on bags!

Hi everyone,

We are joining you at the last minute - my husband is deploying to Afghanistan unexpectedly at the end of the month, so we're doing a whirlwind Disney trip to crunch in some family time.

We are Jamie (me), Mike (DH), Seamus (DS-5), Delaney (DD-2) and our wonderful Au Pair, Christin. This is her first time doing anything Disney, and she is over the moon excited. This is our family's 3rd cruise.

Is it at all possible to get in on the Fish Extenders? I know, I'm shooting for the moon, but I have to try! :)

We, too, are joining the November 10 sailing at the last minute. Anyone knowledgeable about check-in time versus boarding number? We could not get the 11:00-11:30 check-in. Any chance we could still board before our time 12:30-1:00???

Greetings late arrivals! Glad to have you with us! :yay:
My apologies, I can't help with F.E.'s or checkin times - but I am here with a greeting!

Going to be a wonderful cruise! :dance3:

Welcome, and glad you get to have this great family time before his deployment. We're not involved in the FE this trip, sorry can't help you there. But if you DO hang one, and we know where you are, DW and I wouldlove to drop something off. I'll only be checking the boards one more time tonight, we're flying to Orlando in about 20 hours, and I'm not one of those "Connected all the time" guys!

My best understanding from recent postings/threads on this subject is that if you show up before your listed arrival time is that they will usually hold up your entry to the terminal, and your actual boarding time is assigned based on that arrival time even if you are admitted earlier. As with MOST things Disney your mileage may vary:rolleyes1:laughing:

Leaving in t minus 8 hours for vacation:scared1:

Can't wait to be on the boat...

For the ones wanting to join the FE I would love to drop off a little something. I have your info for your cabin through the FE organizer.

I am a little disappointed with my gifts, but I did try so I hope they are ok :goodvibes

We are heading out in a couple of hours for our drive down to Florida...spending the night before boarding the Dream tomorrow morning. Hope everyone has safe travels and that we all have a fabulous cruise!!!

Thanks to everyone who dropped off goodies to our F/E bag!! My DS7 sooo enjoyed coming back to gifts each day and truly enjoyed opening all the little bags. We truly enjoyed this ship. We'll be on the Magic in the spring and are looking forward to the comparison (and the extra day at sea)..
ahoy mates!
