11/10/11- 3-Night on the Dream

Racing out the door for work....

can't remember if it has been mentioned here, but wanted to make sure everyone was aware that effective Aug 2 the port will not open till 11AM and DCL will be enforcing the check in times you selected when you did your on line check in.

There are a couple of threads on the main board on the subject if you want to read everyone's worries, concerns and gripes.

Can you send me a link to that please ASAP!

Thanks!

Here's a link to the second thread discussing it (and the most currently active one)

I'll search through my subscribed threads to find the original one and will come back and add it to this post.

ALASKA, so beautiful I could hardly stand it. I'm more of a mountains girl than a beach girl and sailing between the mountains (so close you think you could touch them in some spots at Tracy Arm) whas great. Also loved Vancouver and could have spent more time there. And if you haven't been on the Wonder lately, Outlook Cafe is my favorite new hang-out.

Thank you for the link!

In Victoria, we did the DCL excursion with the tea at Butchart Gardens. It's a beautiful spot (even on the drizzly day we were there) and it was the BEST tea I've ever been to! :thumbsup2

but where the times enforce at Canada place?(the port)

We just got back from Alaska, I hope you have the great weather we had! The trip was perfect, we had such a great time! Spend a couple of days in Vancouver, but we wished we had more time there, so much you can do! Now we're getting ready to plan out the fun for this cruise - can't wait to see the new ship!

The security/customs stuff doesn't open till 11AM. You can get in the terminal and in line before that (you can even get a cup of coffee).

A recent cruiser...bele26???....will have to advise if boarding times were enforced, but I think not, since DCL isn't enforcing them in PC till August.

(I was on the B2B from the repo, so those of us who just re-checked in boarded with the concierge and platinums.)

.

We stayed at the Fairmont the 2 nights before the cruise, and we were told a disney rep would meet us in the lobby at 12:00 or so and walk over with us. They told us that we could walk over whenever we wanted, but since I had heard that they weren't letting you board until after 12:00, we decided to just relax at t the hotel instead of waiting at the port. Worked out well for us, we were onboard by 1:00, cabins were available at 2:00. We had lunch at Parrot Cay, then at 2:00 headed to our cabin to drop off our day bags. They may have let people on board before 12:00, not sure what time boarding actually started. Because we're platinum members, we were able to board as soon as we got our KTTW cards. I will say that about 2-2:30, there was a huge line to get the pictures before you get on the ship. my advice would be to try to get there around 12:00 or so.

Now back to the Dream and the Bahamas :rolleyes1

Just kidding... as much as I love hearing about Alaska I just get excited that someone is posting about our cruise :rotfl: A tad bit excited over here :)

BTW Just picked up some fabric tonight to start my fish extender... forget the interfacing though  I was hoping to work on it tonight...

I don't think I used interfacing, but then again, it was two years ago that I made mine! I used a dowel with pirate Mickey antenna balls on the end for the top.

So does this mean someone has volunteered to organize a FE exchange?

Just checking in on the thread, since my dad is making our final payments this week for the cruise. Now can someone explain to me what fish extenders are?

A FE exchange has already been started. It should be somewhere in this thread. I know I received a list of the names that were going to be on it so far. The more the merrier:dance3:

I just started my FE tonight. I am so excited... just need to add the finishing touches. When I figure out how to post pics I will send one. I am so proud of it

You can find plenty of post describing fish extenders all throughout the board. The easiest explanation is a wall hanging with pockets that people put presents in. :rotfl: You sign up and have to put goodies in other people's pockets as well.

Like I said I should be posting mine soon, but you can find lots of explanations and pictures all over the place :)

If you are interested in joining the FE exchange please email me the following information:

Dis name
Names of the adults
name, age and sex of the kids
cabin number

Please make sure to FE 11/10 in your subject line (I am organizing the FE for the 11/6 cruise as well)
