11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

It looks like the Vista Cafe, deck 4 midship is a good place for meet ups.

YEP! This is the recommend spot by previous cruisers. 3PM Embarkation day...whadda ya say?

Gives folks a chance to check out their stateroom, and come by and say Hi and put some faces to names, then we can go right from there to the muster drill! (Beverages readily available and there should be snacks in the cooler...in case you didn't get enough LUNCH!)

Kathryn, I'll add you to the rouster on page one. Have I missed any newbies?

Champagne Girls, Pink is the logical spot! If they don't open till 5 on the sea day, should we try and meet then? Those of us that have early dining can have a pre-dinner glass of bubbly, but will that be a problem for any of us who have to get younger kids ready for dinner?

Sorry I've been MIA...no internet at home (won't be till this weekend).

I'll keep checking in on my lunch breaks or after work!

I'm in for the 3PM DisMeet.

As I'm not a champagne drinker I may just make a quick stop in for CG to say "Hi" and bring my own drink. :goodvibes

How exciting to be on the official page 1 list!

Phil, where in Connecticut are you? When I was in high school (long ago), I lived in Vernon. "Crossroads of Opportunity," as the town welcome sign said. :confused3 It was really more like "Home of Rein's Deli" off I-84.

Will try and be there for the meet. Don't remember what time we get to the port. :dance3:

Sign me up for the "need a vacation" club, too! We're looking at a week of 100 plus degree weather and I am SO done with summer.

Being our first cruise, we didn't book any Nassau excursions. I'm now having second thoughts and hope we won't regret this decision. That just means we'll have to book another cruise for that - right?

I can't believe how close November 6 is. We signed up "late" for this cruise - I can't imagine waiting as long as so many of you have been.

Hi Kathryn

I am a town over in South Windsor, I moved here when I first got a job in Hartford after college, also a long long time ago. Rein's is well known via the extended family. If I am visiting New Hampshire or Maine relatives, they get a craving for the bagels and smoked fish deliveries once or twice a year. For awhile my nephew worked there as well, doing a variety of cooking and baking jobs.

Even Jay looks forward to a container of Cream Cheese n Chive being packed in a lunch box next to something frozen, inside the checked in luggage, along with frozen bagels for the beginning of the WDW trip. But recently we have discovered a decent Orlando Bakery called DELISH (thank you PODCAST !)

Rein's is still as popular as ever in VERNON, but has not succeeded in trying to expand into other areas like East Springfield MASS. On any weekend day, I swear all of the traveling New Yorkers are trying to get off exit 65 on I84 and invade this spot of Connecticut.

I just wrote paragraphs about food, and I must get back to the idea of DIETING. The only FISH I should be thinking about is FISH EXTENDERS !

Hello to you, Joy.

If it's in "the valley", it's Phoenix to me! Orlando must have been quite an adjustment - "it's a dry heat" really does mean something.

This cruise will be here before we know it. :woohoo:

So I went ahead and made the leap and made a reservation for the Comfort Suites Paradise Island for the Nassau day so that our party can go to the PI water park. I reserved two rooms for the 8 of us at $145 per room, plus taxes and fees equaling another $62. So I am thinking that $207 per room is not a bad deal. Does that sound right to the rest of you who already booked at Comfort Suites??? I can't remember who else said they were doing this, but can anyone tell me how they plan to go from the ship the the hotel?

Also I asked, but no one responded about pirate night - maybe because no one was sure.... I believe through my research I have found that our Pirate night is on the 3rd night (same day we go to Castaway Cay). Such excitement for 1 day!!!

My friend who just got off the Dream yesterday said that the Fish you hang your FE's on is smaller than the Magic and Wonder, she said her FE had a hard time fitting because of the smaller Fish size. I am going to ask her the specifics on this, I will let you all know what this means for us.

ladybug23 - Your $145 rate is pretty good, is anyone in your party an AARP member or AAA? If so, then I think the rate goes to $130.

Unfortunately - no AAA or AARP here. and I think the membership costs more than that $30 savings, but I will check into it. THANKS!!!

Have you heard that DCL is doing an October 1012 cruise to Hawaii??? Platinum and gold CC memebers can call DCL, their travel agent, or DVC and book starting today. Silver/general public booking starts Monday.

Anybody sitting on a dummy cruise...transfer it to that puppy, even if you're not sure you'd be able to go!!!

We are doing the Comfort Suites too, we got the AAA rate of $135.00/night. Our total is 195.20, but I'm not sure that that includes the $12.95 surchage, all their charges confuse me, so I am planning about $250.00 total just to be safe. We plan to take a taxi from the ship - I read its $4.00/pp. I know there is at least one other family doing this as well.

Pirate night is Tuesday evening - Castaway Cay day!

Thanks for checking on the FE for us!!!

My friend sent me the a picture on facebook of "my" room when we cruise. The Fish and the wall it is on looks to be about half the size of that on the Magic. I am very concerned about being able to hang the FE now as it looks like it will hang out in the hallway and bang into the cabin door. ugh. I still need to chat with my girlfriend to get an answer on what she didd with hers.

I will make sure and let all of you know.
