11/06/05 WHO'S With US on the Wonder?

Mary Beth, shame on you for even saying the "H" word. I won't even allow myself to turn on the weather channel.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with myself Thursday at WDW after the cruise. I can't check in to POP until my friend from Chicago arrives at 9:30 or 10PM (she has the AP). Only have a 2 day park hopper, which I will use to play with her on Fri/Sat. There's always DTD shopping/movie, or I may rent one of the water mice (or whatever they're calling those little motor boats now) and zip around the lake. But if the Magic Kingdom sends out its siren song....I may just have to buy a one day/one park ticket and play at the happy place ::yes:: I do have an ADR for Kona that night, I've always wanted to try it for dinner. Made it for 7:40P, so I could walk out to the beach afterwards and watch WISHES. (sigh) I'm ready to go NOW!

AhHA! Disney Vacation Clubbers from Virginia.

I kept reading it as divorcers from Virginia. :rotfl:

DizneyGram-
Just checking in with names. I'm Jackie(you knew that already), My DH is Jeff and our DD is Millie.

Jackie-
We are staying at POP on Thurs & Fri. It's a shame you couldn't just drive over with us. We are renting a car from Avis to take back to DW with us. If there was a way you could catch up with us that day, you could use our room if you needed it, to change, etc. Let me know if you want to work something out.

I'm a little nervous about weather, too; but I'm just try to keep thinking Happy Thoughts!!!! :sunny:

DizneyGram I just wanted to add our names DH Vito, DS Vito jr and DD Angelina again thanks for putting this list together. :goodvibes
I can not beleave it is less then 3 weeks away (19 days and counting)
I was wondering how early is everyone going to the port? we were thinking about 10:30-11:00 I dont want to miss a min. of the fun!

I added in the new information, plus where everyone is from, if it was posted already in the profile.

WOOHOO! I just received my docs...now I'm doing the "Wonder shuffle" :cool1:

DiszyGram--
Divorcers from Virgina? That's funny! I wonder who else thought that--I know I'm terrible about figuring out those vanity license plates!
****

Congratulations on all those who've gotten their documents. It will be here before we know it!
****

Michelle9393, we're probably going to try to get to port early, too. Having never cruised before, it will be nice to try to get our bearings before leaving!

Good morning all
I was wonder how many have recd their docs? We haven't yet.
I hate seeing Wilma out there I hope it stays clear of FLA.
We still haven't made any plans for a meet yet. Looking so foward to meeting other Disers. I can't wait to hear the sounds of the ship.
Michelle

Someone mentioned us all meeting on deck 10 at 3pm on the day we board. I don't remember where. That's ok with me. I think the safety drill is around 5pm.

My documents are in the mail right now. My sister picked them up from the travel agent and mailed them to us. She said not to put the Disney Wonder ribbons on the suitcases before we arrive there....I knew that. :teeth:

Now we need an easy to find place to meet on deck 10. There may be a good picture of the deck somewhere on here.

I have a small set of drawings picturing all the decks and 10 has the Wide World of Sports in the bow, Palo in the stern (love those nautical terms :teeth: ) and the Outlook Bar mid deck.

There is a midship elevator lobby that might be an easy place to meet. We would have to bunch up in a spot that doesn't block the elevator. :grouphug:

Gail (DiszyGram can also mean ditsy grandmother  )

Overlook Bar on Deck 10 (it overlookes the adult pool area). There are tables and chairs there ::yes::

....................a drive by post......I'm at work.

Overlook Bar sounds good to me! I am assuming you can go with kids...otherwise, DH can sit with the kids for a short time at the goofy pool!

The Outlook bar is right next to the midship elevator so it will be easy to find.

I hope hurricane Wilma doesn't cancel some cruises coming up before ours and pray it leaves the Bahamas and Castaway Cay alone.

We were on Castaway Cay last year and it still showed a lot of damage from the two hurricanes that hit not long before we arrived. There have been so many, I don't remember the hurricane's names. The bus tour we took on the way to tour Atlantis in Nassau showed a lot of badly damaged homes in town.

It made the poor section of town look even worse. The people we met from Nassau were friendly and wonderful.

I dont want to sound silly but can you go to the overlook bar with childern?

Well, that's a darn good question! I've never heard that any of deck 10 is restricted. I'll go post a thread asking just that!

Hi Jackie,
I'm sorry for bringing the "h" word into play. My mind is a strange and frightening place! Let's hope for the best. Have fun with your extra time after the cruise.

Hey, did you ever go to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge or Cape Canveral National Seashore? We've been to both several times. If you are an animal/bird geek like we are, you might enjoy those places. Close to Port Canaveral, Merritt Island is free (the seashore is $5.00), and there are lots of wildlife to see. We've seen everything from alligators, sandpipers, roseatte spoonbills to a Florida panther on our trips there. We'll definately stop by on the way down or back. It will be a great time of year for migratory birds (how geeky does that sound!) Anyway, it's a thought on how to pass the time!

Nope, never been there. Won't be able to check them out this trip....no wheels. :confused3

Jackie, thanks for your offer regarding the use of your room at POP for changing....but I'm sure I'll be fine. I might even take a little siesta on the rocking chairs at Beach/Yatch Club (don't remember which porch they're on). But something tells me I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a one day ticket to Magic Kingdom ::yes::

All eight of us will be using one day Magic Kingdom tickets for Friday. The MK is open late that day so we'll take advantage of the extra hours. I've been to Disneyworld many times but two of the grandchildren, the 4 and 5 year old ones, have never been.

If you only have time to visit one park and have young children with you, it has to be the Magic Kindom. :earsboy:

The child I'm bringing with me, is the one INSIDE, and she's pretty demanding on getting her needs met when it comes to WDW! ::yes::

Here's what SweetSpot suggested for our DIS meet:

I always thought a great place to meet was on Deck 10 near the Mickey Pool and more importantly Scoops. It's less crowded at that time on deck 10 and you can see the pool and the kids have access to Scoops which will keep them busy as their parents get to know each other.

Sounds like a good idea/location to me......whaddaya think?
