11/06/05 WHO'S With US on the Wonder?

Hi everybody! Our docs came Friday! I'm not sure how they came, though. They were in between the doors when I got home. So that could be from the postman if they didn't fit in the mailbox, or from the UPS man. I already threw the box away, so I can't check.
Looks like we will be the only deck 2 family. I am going to try to do a magnet for the door, but I'm not very crafty (or computer savvy), so it won't be very fancy.
A meet at 3:00 on Deck 10 sounds fine with us. We are staying at Ron Jon the night before, so we will head over to the ship around noon. :grouphug: I figure the pool at the resort will be neat, so Millie ( our DD) will want to swim there first.
Jackie, we have early seating for dinner, I guess because of our daughter. Otherwise we would love to do dinner with you!
Michelle, here are some prayers and pixie dust for you and your DD so that she gets over her sinus infection soon and can travel with us!
We are really looking forward to this trip! I can't believe it is so close!
Well, I'd better be looking at our trip docs now! See you all on the Wonder!!!

We'll be on deck 2 too! What is your cabin number?...We are in 2530 & 2532!

Just got home from Walmart. I got almost everything on the list - stocked up on meds/bandaids/moleskin. I am still debating about the 2ways but I think it would be a good idea after all and I am going to go back another day. I found an over the door shoe holder but its not plastic. Its a canvasy material so I think I'll go to Target and look for the plastic one and if I can't find it I'll keep this one. I also got two over the door hooks for hanging things - wet suits/towels, etc. I can't believe the trip is so close!!!!! THanks everyone for your advice.

Judith

I picked up a clear pocket over the door shoe holder at Ross, about $4-5. Monday I drop my 'dinner' outfit off at the tailor....I'm thinking the alterations are going to cose more that the outfit...but I did get a smoking price for it.

Does anybody know which nights have which shows?

Jackie you are going to do Disney and DCL. I would love to go without my husband and kids. You are an inspiration. I do turn 40 in March mmmmm you got me thinking. We don't have Ross here. I'll keep searching. My thing at Walmart was $12 which I thought was a lot. I can't wait.

I know for sure that...
Hercules is on Sunday
Dreams is on Wednesday

I have also noticed that they seem to be alternating...
The variety show & Golden Mickey's between Mon. & Tues.

I did just look at a Navagitor from August and for that particular cruise:

Sun was Hercules 6:30/8:30. Also was 70's Disco night in Wavebands.

Mon (Nassau) was cabaret with Mark Nizer 6:30/8;30 family friendly show, I remember reading people really enjoyed this. 80's night at wavebands. at 3pm there was kite making, so you could fly kites the next day at CC. Also a $15 martini tasting and a $10 beer tasting

Tue (CC) and Pirate night!
Golden Mickey 6;30/8;30, pirate party and fireworks. Karaoke night at Diversions

Wed (sea) $12 wine tasting. Disney Dreams 6:30/8:30 AND a matinee during the day. There's also a cruise staff lunch at one of the restaurants, you can dine with the crew. The big DON'T MISS ADULT EVENT: Pub Night at Diversions. The crew put on a show at 10:45pm, heard it was a riot! :rotfl2:

Lots of family activities going on all the time, shows, contests, bingo....kids, four days WILL NOT BE ENOUGH!

AspiringCindy,
We are cabin #2068. Is this across the ship from you guys? I picked this one since it is close to the center of the ship. It's my first cruise, and my husband thought I'd better try everything to limit my chances of seasickness. It would ruin me for any 7-nighters we might decide to do later!

Jackie,
Thanks for the navigator example! I can't wait to see what we have to choose from and what we choose to do. Our DD is not sure about the kid's club. She's pretty shy. So we may be doing mostly family things. Although I'd like to see 80's night! I might have to venture over there by myself! ;)

We got our docs today !! exception luggage tags, no difference from last year .

A question to the cruisers friends !
i was checking DCL reservations today and saw that they still have available places to many categories, even cat 12 is available for 11/06. it sounds curious to me, because i thought that the ship should be almost full at this time. Do you think that we will not have the ship with full capacity ?

Hi Gutto, I think you meant 11/06, not 12/06. :) My guess, and it is only a guess, that the time we are going is not the most popular. People like to take a cruise around a holiday and it's too early a date for Thanksgiving.

School is in session and many schools don't like children taking off for family vacations during regular school days. Of course that would limit the vacations to the most crowded times of the year. :( . My grandchildren will be on unexcused time from school, but the trip is well worth it.

My sister and I will be in cabin 1069, an inside deluxe cabin. There will be a magnetic sign on our door with Minnie Mouse (me) and Daisy Duck (Debby) on it. I'm sure we can make it to wherever we all decide to meet, if 3pm is not the time we need to do the safety drill.

I knew what date you meant. :earsboy: I'm going back up to the list and adding cabin numbers to those people who have posted them. If anyone else wants theirs to be known, just post it.

The list can be cut and pasted if anyone wants to have a copy of it to take with them.

Getting ready for dinner...three weeks from today. :bounce:

A ship with unsold cabins, means a ship with possible upgrades!! Be sure when you get your documents, you check your cabin number.....sometimes they upgrade before sending them out and it's a nice surprise. Sometimes when you check in at the ship you are advised of an upgrade and you also have the opportunity to buy upgrades for special rates. One of the 'perks' of cruising in the 'slow season' ::yes::

Oh, DiszyGram, my cabin number is 7125 (two doors down from Gutto!).

Good Morning everyone!!!! The kids are off to school, I just got back from a run (only so I can lose 5 before we go?) and I have a nice cup of Dunkin DOnuts while I obsess over my Disney trip - life is good.

We will be staying the WDW for four nights before the cruise. So we will be taking the DME from the airport. Has anyone used it this year? I just read a passporter thread that wasn't so positive. Does anyone know the layout of the airport and how it works?

I can't believe its only 16 days away!!!! I decided to get 2 ways if not for anything but the cruise and I figure that we can use them skiing this year.

I am also interested in getting a new digital camera. Does anyone have one that they love? I now have a Olympus stupid camera - point and shoot- that takes phenomenal pictures. I want simple to use but good pictures. Help!!! It is hard to get in sync with all this technology. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, everyone have a nice day. I am going to try to get this house cleaned before I have to pick the kids up and go to work.

Judith

jblrn2b > We went last year and didn t have any problem at Orlando airport, it is very easy to get oriented, it has a lot of signs.
take a look at the official site of the airport:
http://www.orlandoairports.net/goaa/main.htm

About DME i have a friend that used the service last year without any problem, they put " greeters " at the terminal so i guess it is very easy to find them. I read at Orlando Sentinel that Disney had problems with other companies at the terminal, maybe something had been changed. here is the link:

Today i use a Nikkon coolpix, i bought last year at super-target in Kissimmee, it costs about $ 400,00 ( included a new memory card that you should buy to add more pictures) ,it is a very very good cam, the great advantage is the battery, it works with a kind of bat that doens t get memory so easy. it was a big problem when i was useing my Sony DSC 71.

i really sorry about any misspelling

Thanks DiszyGram,

We're looking forward to meeting all of you on the trip. Let's all keep our fingers crossed for no hurricanes!
