11/04/06 Anyone Out There Yet?

This is our 2nd DCL cruise. When I received my docs, they came in a sleeve, and I received 2 booklets (we have 5 people) with the picture of the ship on it and various pages inside - itinerary w/times, gratuity suggestions, payment authorization, etc.... We received the same thing last year - just different theme and in a nicer plastic sleeve.

Now, my parents, who are 1st timers, only received "some" of the previously mentioned pages, just stapled together. No booklet with the picture of the ship, etc... We both booked thru Costco, so it came from the same place. She was told that this was because she had pre-registered online. The funny thing is, she didn't get the gratuity info either (as a page). I also registered online, but I did mine quite a bit later than she did.

Does anyone else think this is strange? Personally, I like to save the booklet as a souvenier. I still have the ones from last year and I plan to save this one, too. I don't see why they wouldn't send them out to everyone. Has anyone else had this experience?

Same thing happened to us....we have 2 cabins because there are 6 of us. I got the same information you did and DH got what your parents received. I called DCL because we were first time cruisers. She said it's because we were part of one household.

The last 2 years the documents have gotten smaller it seems. I found the ship to shore vacation guide I received a couple months ago and it has all the information that I use to receive with my documents. I've booked directly with DCL 4 times and what I've recieved has never been consistant. I'm just thrilled to have them.

When you go to breakfast, do you sit at your regular table, or do you get to mix and mingle with others?

I know for the character breakfast and for the last morning, we had our regular table, but we never went to breakfast any other time! I'm guessing it's our regular table, but, on other cruises, it wasn't, so I just wanted to check! :)

You can do just about anything you want. You can order room service. You can go up to Deck 9 and go though a line and eat outside. You can go for table service at one of two restraunts that they open, but those times are short like from 7 - 8:30 or so......I suppose you know that NO ONE goes hungry!!!

When you go to the dining room for a sit down breakfast you will not sit at your regular table. They really don't have the whole restaurant open and try to seat people together at larger tables to limit the amount of servers needed and tables in use. We are a family of 5 have alway requested to be seated alone when we went to the dining room for breakfast and they have always let us sit alone.

 heading over to ac moore to get some t-shirts, then to home depot for the lime green paint samples. :thumbsup2 I belive a few people had mentioned around 3:00 at the mickey pool? ::MickeyMo sure sounds like a great place to start things off. ::yes::

I'm loving the weather reports!

We got our docs yesterday!

Just making sure that everyone here who did there docs online printed them out and signed them. I didn't realize that that had to be done.

I'm glad you got your documents. :cool1:
Yup, I printed out all the forms (just to be on the safe side) and will be bringing them with me. I have my folder of every single paper that deals with the cruise, I'm just a little narotic. :rotfl2:

Welcome to our cruise meet!!! Lime Green is the "official" color of the DISboard. You can get mickey head paint chips (paint sample on a card) at Home Depot, that way you can be identified as a member of the DISboard. Also, about the door signs...The stateroom doors are metal and some people like to personalize there cabin doors with signs and pictures.

Once again, WELCOME!!!

I was just reading another thread about how Pirate Night is on Tuesday not Wednesday now. We have reservations at Palo's for Tueday night. :sad2:

Anyone have any more info regarding Pirate's Night? I emailed DCL a few days ago, but haven't received a response.

Remember these are 15 day forecasts....there is always sun!! On the days at sea they drive the boat always into sunshine.

I am kinda glad the weather looks a little cloudy, since they are mostly wrong, we will have awesome weather!!!
