11/04/06 Anyone Out There Yet?

Yes, we'll be at the Residence Inn but not until about 6:30-7:00. JetBlue keeps moving our flight back so now we've lost some time. I should have booked an earlier flight and not have been so concerned with the kids going to school that morning.

I'm thinking about grabbing some fast food in the car so that they can have time to swim before bedtime. But of course I keep thinking back to your trip report...the 3 of them sitting right next to each other in a "full-size" rental won't be pleasant and now I'm thinking of adding food and drink?!?!

You had me worried about JetBlue ... we're flying out of JFK (where I think you are as well). Our 9:45 am flight is on as scheduled. No school for us!!

Good luck with the rental. I currently have a 12 passenger van as well as 2 full sized cars rented for my party of 8. I'm leaning towards the van as per my prior experience. Also have a car service booked. I need to make some decisions.

We are also staying at the Residence Inn arriving by 3:00pm. Originally we were going to Orlando to stay at a Disney property but changed our minds.

If anyone is up for a precruise meet at the Residence Inn Friday...you can count us in.

Michael

Sounds to me as if we have a precruise meet at the Residence Inn two weeks from today ... pretty sweet.

Here's our latest cruise list to include justfill and her group of 33.

It is hard to believe it is only 2 week away. As we get a little closer we can work out a time for the precruise "Bon Voyage" party at the Residence!!

We're at the Radisson.

We're driving down from VA on 11/3. DD9 is going to school in the AM and we're going to pick her up and hit the road at 11am. I was unable to get an excused absence for the trip, so we decided to do it this way so she wouldn't get marked absent on that Friday. We probably won't roll in to the Radisson until 1am. I called today and got a reservation for the 10am shuttle to the port. WOOHOO!

Anyway, I hit Home Depot today and picked up a bunch of mickey paint chips - sonic boom color (lime green)! Are we still on for a 3pm meet at the Goofy pool wearing these lime green mickey's? DD9 is emailing her buddies to see if they can all wear the same lime green mickey's and hook up in the terminal, since we'll be there by 10:30 or so.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Sanford. We are flying in from Allentown to Sanford and will be there at 3:30. Hard to believe that is where we will be in 2 weeks. I guess I really should start packing!

I have just begun to pack, and I have to remind myself of all the good advice on these boards. Most important being, do not overpack!

We're staying at the Radisson, won't arrive until around 10pm, so probably will miss any Dismeets going on. I have my lime green Mickey paint chips, I'll try to make the boys wear them Saturday.

Two weeks from now we will be on the ship, getting acquainted with new places and people. Yippee!

I was just reading another thread about how Pirate Night is on Tuesday not Wednesday now. We have reservations at Palo's for Tueday night. :sad2:

I spoke w/someone at DCL several weeks ago when I was trying to plan Palo and they told me that the Pirate night was on the 5th night and that would be Wednesday but it looks like that could have changed........

The above is a link to Navigators for the Western Cruise Oct 7th.

Since the Magic in docking in Cozumel now, the shipis still in port at the time when they do the fireworks so they changed Pirate night to Tuesday at Grand Cayman.

Thanks for the information. Since it's only 48 degrees right now at Dulles Airport, I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather!

My DH, DD9 and DD4 enjoyed meeting you, your DD10, and friends yesterday. My DH was telling me all about it and sharing some of the things you discussed. Sorry I had to miss out. :sad2:

We all had fun!! I am sorry not to meet you!! Not long now though!!

Keep the weather reports coming!!! Gotta love it!!

Just started to pack things...actually was kinda forced to since the cleaning ladies are coming tomorrow and wouldn't be able to get to the floor of my bedroom.

Just a tip I read somewhere...I packed a little bit of everyones stuff in each suitcase...that way~ god forbid ~ a suitcase gets lost you still have something for each person. Just a thought to share.

Now off to cleaning the rest of the house for the cleaning lady

This is our 2nd DCL cruise. When I received my docs, they came in a sleeve, and I received 2 booklets (we have 5 people) with the picture of the ship on it and various pages inside - itinerary w/times, gratuity suggestions, payment authorization, etc.... We received the same thing last year - just different theme and in a nicer plastic sleeve.

Now, my parents, who are 1st timers, only received "some" of the previously mentioned pages, just stapled together. No booklet with the picture of the ship, etc... We both booked thru Costco, so it came from the same place. She was told that this was because she had pre-registered online. The funny thing is, she didn't get the gratuity info either (as a page). I also registered online, but I did mine quite a bit later than she did.

Does anyone else think this is strange? Personally, I like to save the booklet as a souvenier. I still have the ones from last year and I plan to save this one, too. I don't see why they wouldn't send them out to everyone. Has anyone else had this experience?

When you go to breakfast, do you sit at your regular table, or do you get to mix and mingle with others?

I know for the character breakfast and for the last morning, we had our regular table, but we never went to breakfast any other time! I'm guessing it's our regular table, but, on other cruises, it wasn't, so I just wanted to check! :)
