11/04/06 Anyone Out There Yet?

Hi, I just found this thread and thought I'd sign on. This is our family's first cruise ever. We're seasoned park veterans and thought we'd try something different without losing the Disney spirit.

It will be me and DH, DD (9), DS (6 3/4) and DS (4)...all ages are at the time of the cruise. We are travelling with another family who did a 4 night cruise last year and they booked us while on board. They have a DD (9) and DS (7). The kids are looking at it like a 7 day sleepover party (I'm a bit nervous about that...the adults are betting which day each kid has their first sleep-deprived meltdown!!).

My DH is nervous since he has motion sickness problems. But I will come equipped with every possible remedy and hopefully something will work!!

Now I'm just reading as much as I can to learn all I need to know. I need this to be successful if I ever want to get DH on another cruise!!

We will also be on the 11/4/06 Western! We were on the 11/5/05 one, as well, and are looking forward to going to Cozumel this time around! It will be me, DH, DS(13), DS(11) & DD(9) (ages at cruise time). This will be our 4th cruise, and our 2nd with DCL. We can't wait to get back on board! :)

Welcome aboard to the 2 new groups!!Glad to have you guys on board.

Were under 10 months to go!!!

Hope everyone had a great holiday....we had a really rough December as I found a lump on our beloved lab Daisy and she had it removed (2 lb. tumor) only to have complications post surgery had to have 3 more major surgeries in 4 weeks and needed constant care...finally had her last surgery last Monday and so far the stitches are holding and all looks good (wound opened up 3 times before). Thank goodness the vet took care of her when we were away.

Hate seeing this thread all the way on page 4!!!

We just got back from a week in Key West that started on Jan 1, 06 and had a ball....we had been there before on our DCL cruises but it was nice to stay in a hotel and get to explore the island a bit more....

MMouse:

Glad to hear the pooch is doing better. I have 4 of my own so I know what its like. It's like taking care of children.
As far as I know its still Key West, Grand cayman, Cozumel, & Castaway Cay for our trip, unless due to the huricanes last year Cozumel is too damaged to go. We shall see what happens.
Glad to see Key West was fun. That is our favorite stop on this cruise.
ONLY 9 MONTHS & 17 DAYS to GO!!!

Original Group of 16 down to 9. Now my dd who turms 14, 4 days after we get back is upset because the cousins that are her age are the ones that won't be coming. She was looking forward to going to the Stack with them. Anyone have kids 14?

We are also from NJ. Went on the cruise in 2003 during Jersey week and had to laugh at the comedian with all his Jersey jokes.

HI, We'll be with y'all on the Jersey Cruise. Here's our group.

2 Moms
2 Dads
1 boy, 14
1 girl, 13

We might be joined by another family, with two toddlers. I am looking forward to a great time, first cruise for me.

Hi Everybody, we booked today. We are another family from NJ.
This will be our 2nd DC, we were on the 11/5 western last year.

Well, Hello!!

I got back last night from the 1/28/2006 Western.....we had an awesome time!! There was 43 of us on that cruise.....many of us have rebooked on this cruise...schools closed Monday and Tuesday!!

My family will be DH, me, DS17 (soon off to college) DD12 and DD10. We are travelling with about 10 families right now about 50 people!!

The Western was awesome. We had PERFECT weather. Even Castaway Cay was 74 degrees and the water was 75 degrees. We had sunny skies and smooth sailing for the most part.

This will be my families 8th cruise on DCL. We just love it. Look forward to following this this thread....I am a certified Disney NUT!!

Hi,

Just wanted to subscribe to this thread. We are looking into this cruise. I am checking with an agent that has some group space on this sailing. We were just on the Magic in Feb. and the weather was horrible, so we wanted another chance! :teeth: I will post if we decide to book. We have a 9 year old DD.
Keeping my fingers crossed to find a good rate.

Just confirmed the rest of our travel plans today. Flying in on Friday, now have to decide where to spend the night. Any suggestions?

We booked our Friday night stay at the new Residence Inn by Marriott. It's supposed to be close to the port. $99 and it also includes breakfast, not a bad deal!

Our group of 4 has just expanded to 15!!!! I convinced our friends to join us and they booked two weeks ago and I just convinced my sister and her family to join us so we are now 15...she just booked yesterday with All Seasons Travel....they still had discounted prices...

We currently booked at the new Residence as well....I booked us three 2-bedroom, 2 bath suites which have a living room, full kitchen, 2 or 3 TV's, etc. and includes a hot breakfast for only $149 each suite...

Hope to book some more friends as well!!!

We booked our flights already but the rest of the group has not.....
