11/04/06 Anyone Out There Yet?

We will be traveling on our first ever cruise. Myself, DW, DS10 and DS7 ::MickeyMo
We are from Waterloo, Ontario, about 1 hour west of Toronto.

JTaylor & family, welcome to the group. Nice to have you on board!

Well as the snoe hit about 6 inches in Chicago yesterday, really looking forward to heading for Disney World in about 6 hours. Weather is going to be decent. Rain is'nt supossed to hit until mid or end of week. Hope the forcast improves as the week goes on.

Talk to everyone in a week!!

Have my ears on & ready to go!!!

Hello Fellow Cruisers!

We are on our 16th day of the high temperature not reaching freezing (I'm sure some of the Canadian cruisers can relate). Right about now I'm really wishing I had a January '06 cruise planned.

Can one of the experienced cruisers let me know if we keep our passports or are they kept by Disney? I've seen more than one thread, but I'm confused if we have to turn them over to the cruise line (we are US Citizens). I'm asking because I'd like to get the stamps for the foreign countries. If Disney does keep your passport do they stamp them automatically? Obviously I do not understand the whole customs procedure......

Thanks for your input!

Hope to hear from someone soon

Goofy :earsboy:

Hey all!!! We just got off the 12/10/05 Disney Magic and i'm still swaying :rotfl: We had such a blast. It was our 3rd Disney Cruise and I can't wait for our next one!

My wife and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary next year during this cruise so we are probably going to book it soon. Our fourth Disney cruise, but our first without kids :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My wife will feel so guilty, but she is looking forward to it anyway. and me? .....kids who? :rotfl2:

Will let you all know when we book, but I don't see how we won't. The Magic is just too much fun!!!

I am just guessing that these are your kids in the pic?
Wow! 14 cruises, have they all been Disney? I would love to meet you and hear all about your wonderful cruises. :goodvibes
It is going to be a long wait for us but these boards are a great way to pass the time. Only 11 more months to go
GWN

Yes, they are our kids in the photo and yes.....14 DCL cruises!!! As you can tell DCL is my favorite but I also enjoyed our Carnival and Princess cruises....

Glad to see some more posts....I transferred the ressie over the other day so we are all set, except for airfare......after the last 4 days I need a vacation!!!

Our family is also booked for the 11/4 Western -- our first DCL cruise and our first cruise with the kids. Me, DW, DS8, DS6, DD4, and 3 grandparents. I already see a couple of NJ families booked on this cruise (like us), and expect we'll be seeing lots more from NJ. If you don't know, its "Jersey Week" in WDW the week of 11/4. It was a difficult decision, but we opted for the DCL over a return to WDW. I'm new to the cruise board and have a lot to learn in the upcoming months.

For those of you traveling from NJ, what's your plan? Flying or driving? Arriving a day early? This is our next "big" decision.

We'll be driving down from NJ. We usually break the trip up, 8 hours to Fayetteville, NC and then the next day 8 hours into Orlando. But for the cruise we are probably going to drive right to Savanna, GA, stay overnight and then drive that last 4-5 hour leg the morning of the cruise and go right to the port. What part of NJ are you from? We're in Old Bridge. Looks like our sons will be in the club together. As it gets closer to the cruise, maybe they can email each other and get to know each other before the trip.
Happy Holidays everyone!

We're in South Brunswick, and are flying. We're coming in on Halloween and staying at Boardwalk until the cruise leaves.

JoJo-21 -- we're in Freehold, not far at all. I'm toying with the idea of driving to save on 5 air fares, but don't know if we can handle that drive with 3 kids. I will start checking on air fares sometime soon. It would be great if our boys met "online" before the cruise. DS7 (will be 8 when we cruise) is in 2nd grade.

jel0511 -- we're also close to you in South Brunswick. Will you be doing MNSSHP before the cruise? We did it 2 years ago and it was the best night we've ever had in WDW.

What is this New Jersey invasion I am hearing about??? What are us southerners going to do having to listen to your crazy accent all week! :confused3

I'm from Georgia, but the funny thing is that my son who is 4 can't say words with "ar" correctly yet. We always joke that it sounds like his is from New Jersery when he says "car" and it sounds something like "cah". LOL :rotfl:

Yes we are. We were supposed to go this year, but had to cancel because I had a stroke. So hopefully we'll make it next year. I grew up in Red Bank so am very familiar with Freehold.

WOW!! The group is getting bigger each day! Welcome to all the new groups, Hello to all the NJ folks. Glad to have everyone on board. Glad to see this group getting to chat with each other & making new friends.

Just a note to everyone:

I hope everyone has a very Mery Christmas & Happy New Year!!
:disrocks:

This just means by Jan 4, 2006, there will be only 10 months to go!!!
:cool1: :bounce: :cool1: :bounce:

DisDawg, They call it "NJ week" because most NJ school districts have off that week due to election day and NJ Teachers' Conferences.
Accents? Don't know wut cha talkin bout! Yous guys talk funny, not us! :rotfl:

We live in NY but are literally only a block away from the New Jersey border...does that count? LOL!!!

We have driven to FL many times with three little ones....had its moments but overall was fine....we usually fly now and will be next November....not sure if we are staying a few days before or after at WDW but would like to fit it in...

Hello to everyone in our group. I hope everyone had a very nice holiday & I hope everyone has a very safe & happy new year!!

Were closing in on that 10 month mark!! I hope they go by fast!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

.........another Jersey family. We jumped ship from another November date to take advantage of the kids (9&11) being off from school. We like to stay the night before at the Ron Jon. It's a little more $$$$, but such a GREAT pool. Then maybe the day after hitting the F&W fest @ Epcot.
This will be our 3rd DC and 2nd western.
Looking forward to "hitting the local establishments" excursion @ KW ( w/o the kids of course). Have you signed up? :rotfl2:

Hello everyone!!!!! :flower:

Dizma:

It's me Goofy (Paul). DW & I were supossed to be with you guys on the 11/05/05 cruise but we had to move to this one. I hope you guys ahad a great trip. It sounded that way from the boards. I hope you & your family had a nice holiday & have a good new year. It will be good to talk to you again. Hope to hear from you guys soon

Paul

Hey Paul-good to hear from you! It was a blast and we had terrific weather! Highlites were KW (got my Kino sandals), Stingray City, Grand Cayman, and Castaway Cay snorkeling. Happy New Year everyone! ;)

Hi everyone, :sunny:
The group is certainly getting bigger! I have been away for the holidays and this is the first chance I have had to catch up on our group.
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 2006! and I hope the months fly by.
Can't wait to meet the cruisers from New Jersey. People say we Canadians have an accent, eh! :rotfl:
BTW, living here in the "north", we have no snow and it has been 0 degrees to plus 10 c ( don't know farenhite ) sp?? which is warm for us.

GWN:

Hope all is going well so far in 2006. Weather here in Chicago has been a bit "Goofy" here to. Today we had thunderstorms & a bit of hail. By this time a few years ago we had a foot of snow on the ground. Also we've had temps in the 40's this weekend which is real unusual for this time of year. November 4th will be here soon enough & we can all enjoy the warm rays of sun & the tranquility of the Caribean islands!! :sunny: :cool1: :sunny: :cool1:
