101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

I'm back!!

I liked the POR also when we stayed there in December. The grounds were amazing when you went to the middle. Around the outside where the road runs, it wasn't so great.

Alagator Bayou looked nice. I didn't spend too much time there.

The rooms are a lot differnet than they are at Acadian House (Magnolia).

I also noticed the crayon and TV section at check in. Our line was long but it went VERY fast. There were 12 people checking in so that made it go by in less than 15 minutes.

Great Pix!!

I was in building 34 on my March 06 trip-I liked it for the same reason you liked 37.

That thread rocks!

:lmao: :rotfl2: Oh yeah, I have to catch up on that one...
Now stop plugging your thread on other peoples threads.

I thought before you got on the monorail it was A and after you got off the monorail it was B. So we went downstairs at the wrong place. How embarrassing!

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets lost on my vacations. :upsidedow

Once we were at POR, you guessed it, the line was long to check-in.

I thought the room was very quaint and adorable. I love the look of the beds made out of tree posts.

Ooooh, these look nice. Every pic I've seen of the rooms at POR have been really dark and drab. Great pics :thumbsup2

Too bad when you’d flush, it sounded like your kid just got sucked in too.

We put our bags down, and headed to MGM Studios. :wizard: (At least that was what it was called at the beginning of the trip.) This is when we became… one of them. :sad2:

:scared1: No!

Pretty sure you lost! :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

Sorry TE, think DM is like totally right. We all voted 2 per week I believe........majority rules:rolleyes1
But you see, in a true dicatorship, the majority only includes the Supreme Leader! :teacher:

Where is she anyway? Maybe she got lost under a big pile of :laundy: and can't get up.......we may need to go to San Antonio and find her.....it's warm there now!

Sorry I've been so quiet. We had a hard weekend. On Saturday, I found out a friend of mine (who was my girls' dance teacher in Austin) found out her husband was killed in a car wreck. She's only 30 and has a two and six year old (C's friend). I have found myself thinking all weekend: "Poor Jenny- I can't imagine how it would feel to walk in the closet and see his clothes every day." "It would be so hard to sleep in our bed without him."
How did she tell her kids? We're supposed to go to a dance competition in two weeks with our old dance school, but the whole school is in shock right now. She and the owner were very close too, so I'm sure she's upset too.

Anyway, on top of that my car died while I was driving it Friday. Doesn't that always happen right after a trip? K spent all day Saturday working on it, so it's fixed $450 later. We went to MIL's Sat. night to catch up with them. Then the boys went to the Monster truck show Sunday. The girls and I were driving around looking for the chinese place we wanted to try, and saw... EARL of SANDWICH!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was tempted to stop, but we didn't.

I also called one of my close friends to catch up and she is dealing with her MIL's cancer diagnosis. They just got it Thursday and her MIL was told to go to the hospital immediatly. My friend just relocated in October and happens to live 15 minutes from MD Anderson, so she was able to take her MIL there and is caring for her now. I don't know exactly what it means when your doctor says to go to the hospital right now, but it can't be good.

This weekend was a harsh welcome back to reality after a great trip to a happy place where stuff like this doesn't happen. :guilty:
We start school today, so I'll get some TR writing going and hopefully post soon. I still haven't gone full out grocery shopping, so that's on my plate for today too. :sad2:

So sorry about all the sad news. Sending prayers your way and to your friends. Take all the time you need. We will still be here.:grouphug:

Oh HS what a terrible weekend, sending lots of love to both of your friends  and to your car too :rotfl2:

EofS wow, you'll have to go another day!

Wow Dawn! Sorry about your news, I`ll say a prayer for your Friend and your other friends MIL.
Have fun grocery shopping today! Carrie

I just found your trippie and am enjoying it.
I just made it to this part and, not to make light of a situation but...

So, what do you think it means that I had a nightmare about Disney last night? Let's see what I can remember... I know we went with a childhood friend of mine and her ex-husband. They were still together in this dream, for some reason. :confused3
We had one of those big passenger vans and I was in the second seat. Suddenly I look up front and the van's going, but no one is driving. I jump up front to try and drive, but the seat's too high and I can't reach the brakes. We're approaching a red stop light where a 18 wheeler is turning in front of us. I try to adjust the chair and slam on the brakes but I can't do it fast enough. I am able to swerve to miss the 18 wheeler and everywhere we look there are people wrecking all around us.
My (in real life) plan is to go check in at the hotel, drop off bags, then hit the Studios. In my nightmare, we're close to Downtown Disney, so I pull into the parking lot. It didn't look anything like DTD though. It was like a food court type of thing with only chinese and japanese foods. I went to the bathroom (probably to unload my pants from that near miss with the truck!) while everyone was supposed to figure out there food choice. When I came back I couldn't find anyone. I looked around and I found each adult, but no one knew where the kids were. Even though we each have 3 kids, I ran around yelling, "I can't believe we've been here 5 minutes and our kids are already missing!" I talked to different CMs who had classes divided by age group. No one really helped me because they couldn't leave their class. I finally found some of the kids sitting at a table in the food court area. They had gone to their classroom (according to age, of course) when I was in the restroominstead of staying put at the table. They learned a bible verse and heard a story.
The last thing I remember is that I looked over and the roads were still really bad. So, sicne we parked for free, I told everyone we should get our carry-on bags and use the boat to go to Port Orleans and check in so we could start having some fun. Weird, huh? :scared1:

By NEIL JOHNSON and BILLY TOWNSEND of The Tampa Tribune

Published: January 9, 2008

A deadly mix of fog and smoke from a brush fire has led to the deaths of at least four people in a series of crashes on Interstate 4 near Polk City.

At least 50 vehicles are involved, including about 20 tractor-trailers and tankers, authorities said. Tankers have overturned, and at least one burned.

This is kind of scary :scared1: .
