We are the proud parents of a 18 month old dalmation....he is the spawn of satan but we love him to death....we got him before our WDW trip last year (he stayed at pap paps) and I was so planning on cleaning out the stores for 101 dalmation merhandise (especially at the xmas store at DTD)..well much to my disappoinment the CM there told me they have pulled that line out of merchandising for awhile, and that they do this to increase the value.....so I am hoping I will be able to find some this year, anyone seen any lately??? Thanks very much.

I haven't been in this store since July 2003, but the Fire Station on Main Street had 101 Dalmatians merchandise. Don't miss the new Hallmark ornament coming out in July.

Leigh123,

Hey as you can tell by my title, I am a big fan of Dals.
I have two, a female(cookies-n-cream) and a male(sultan pepper).
Cookie is the little angel(does almost nothing wrong). Pepper on the other hand cannot seem to stay out of trouble. To tell the truth he is my favorite(Cookie is my DHs favorite), but I always went for the BAD boys! LOL
Dont ya just love the shedding. I could make pillows with all the hair I have to clean up, but I wouldnt be happy without my Dals!
The Mainstreet maga store online had some stuff the last time I looked!

FYI Dalpal..."cookies and cream" what an awesome name for a dal...:earsgirl:

When I visted in May I didn't see any spotted pup stuff and i need to replace mine :( Even the fire station on main steet was bare. Nice names for your pups, We had a liver spotted one as a kid named freckles.

Leigh123,
I just sent you a PM and I said almost the same thing I said in this thread. ROFL:crazy:
DUH
I guess I am finally losing it. I always said that I gave alittle bit of my brain to each of my kids and I guess Im limping along with whats left.
If my Mom did the same and Im the youngest of five, then there wasnt much to start with anyway!LOL
Anyway always willing to talk Dalmatians or Disney!
I just made res. at the Poly!:Pinkbounc My first time staying there!
Cant wait.
I see you will be going really soon. Have a GREAT trip and I hope you find some 101 stuff. I hear they are getting in more dog merchandise.

Ebay and garage sales are great sources for dalmatian items. (my dd's bedroom is decorated in dalmatians -- I wish we only had 101 of them! Amazing how quickly a collection can grow. :) )

Also question for dalmatian owners: How are they with children? dd4 and dd6 have been asking for a dalmatian puppy for as long as I can remember and dh thinks its time to get another dog. I've heard that dalmatians can be overly energetic and hard to train -- is this true? I was thinking a golden retriever might be a better choice. Any pointers? Suggestions?

We have a 9 year old female dalmation we rescued two and half years ago. I have always heard dalmations are rowdy and don't always get along with other dogs but she is not that way. She is just the sweetest, greatest dog I have ever had. She is wonderful with kids. Our kids are 7 and 9 and she is the best kid dog in the world. Our friends' two year old was over the other night and Lacey didn't seem to mind having her tail pulled, being sat on, hugged and just generally mauled by this kid! So from my viewpoint they are great kid dogs! DH says she knows we rescued her from iminently being put down and she is forever grateful. Don't know about that but I sure wish we had gotten her years ago!

Hi! My dogs are great with our DGKs.
with strange boys my male(Sultan Pepper) is good, but my female not so. As a pup there was a little boy that hit her with a fishing pole( I didnt know until after the fact), To this day anytime she see or hears him in our family videos she will start growling at the TV.( she is now 9 YO)and it took her along time to trust any boy with a baseball cap.
That being said she LOVES our Grandkids(we have 9 going on 10).
and she is better with baseball hats, maybe because my DH uses them and she adores him.
Anyway I think she is the exception .
In the case of hard to train... She was easy as pie. Now my male is 6 YO and I cant get him to stop stealing food from any place he can get it. ie.. I have to make sure the garbage is closed tight, and I cant leave food on the table or counters.
AND THE HAIR! they shed all year round.
BUT saying all that I would not have any other dog over them.
I am in love with my dogs! They are the most loving dogs I have ever had, and I have had many.
