We are planning to go to WDW in October. My adult niece Jen and her 2 children (5 & 2.5) would like to join us. We have a 2BR at OKW. Another niece has 4 one day tickets she is willing to give to Jen. Can Jen make do with $1000 for airfare (hoping to get SW as cheaply as possible out of Hartford), admission for her 5 y.o., food and some souvies? One possible problem is a rental car. We will rent a minivan. My husband may not be able to come. If he doesn't Jen and I can do a minivan. If he does come we are 8 people - too many for a van. What do you think?

With already having lodging and one day of tickets and a place to cook food--I would say, "Where there is a will there is a way." :wave2: I also wanted to tell you (coming from a family of 8) that everytime we have rented an Astro van or Safari Van even though the web sites might say they only seat 7--they have always seated 8. :wave2:

Could she take a shuttle from the airport to OKW? and then use WDW transportation?

If she's not going till Oct, is there a way for her to put away money (maybe use you as a secret savings account? $10 a week? ) Change jar? I know for me I couldnt do ebay (seller) but that also can be a way to "find" money...

I agree, where there's a will there's a way! AND< how kind of you to share the magic!! :wizard:

Edited to add, if you join the rental cars sites, they often give you 'free upgrades' I did Budget rental car, went through the Entertainment Coupon book.. just an idea...

Keep in mind that Magical Express starts May 5. DVC is eligible so you can have free trans. to and from the airport. Maybe you don't need to upgrade the car.

I think so.

Keep an eye on Southwest and JetBlue. Both usually have pretty low fares.

I would think that it can be done! You didn't say how many days you'd be there, but she could pay for 4 days in the park for her 5 year old and then hang out at DTD, around the pool, etc. If she wanted to do 6-7 days in the parks, it might turn into a stretch. And as others mentioned, she won't *need* a rental car with Magical Express and the free Disney transportation.

For food, plan on doing bagels/muffins/cereal in the room in the morning to save a ton of $$$, and even PB sandwiches for lunch, then she can split a dinner with the kids, or order a kid's meal for them to split.

I agree, where there's a will, there's a way!
