100 pt minimum buy in?? AKV and SSR

I just read en email saying disney was currently allowing 100 point buy ins for SSR and AKV. I thought the minimum was 160 points Is this a new promotion or has this been going on for a while now?

i know they allowed it before earlier this year.

not sure if it's been allowed all along, or if it's more of an "on again/off again" promotion...

They allowed it when we toured in January. Our guide was upfront though and told use we'd be paying full price at that level.

According to an item on the Dvcnews.com website, it is a new promotion. First time buyers can get an AKV or SSR master contract for 100 points, rather than the 160-point minimum that had been standard for quite some time. BLT still requires a minimum purchase of 160 points. Personally, I think its a good change because it should bring more first time buyers into the DVC family. Once they are in the system, they can add on more points as their budgets permit.

When they offered the 100 point new contracts at AKV a few years ago, they said the minimum add-on through DVC for those members was 60 (to bring the contract up to the normal 160) Or I wonder if too many of those owners went resale for an add-on?

I bought an AKV 100pt contract direct in August. I was not told that I add on was at a min. of 60pts. Nor does it stipulate this in any of my papers. I plan on adding on 50pts on my cruise.

I bought in at 100 points at AKV last year. I was never told I would have to add on a minumum of 60 points. In fact, just last week, I added on 50 points at HHI.
