100 Point Buy in From Disney?

Sorry if this subject has been discussed, I am fairly new here.

I saw a post of someone mentioning that there was a 100 point buy in at AKV until Dec. 1st.? Is this true? Also, is there DP and/or does the $5 per point apply?

Recently, Dis has allowed people to buy in at 100 points. It started around the 230 range at OKW, then was reduced to 150, but is now up to 160. In the last few months, they allowed a 100 point buy-in. I'm not sure when it will expire, or the incentives offered with it.

If you're interested in seeing what the minimum buy-in is at Dis, and what the price per point is for AKV or BLT, I found this contact number on their website. It says that someone will call you back within 5 minutes.

When we inquired with Disney before we purchased, they followed up with us, but they didn't stalk us like some other companies I've dealt with before!

Hi!! I think it was me who mentioned it--we just did this about 2 weeks ago. It's only for AKV...you don't get DP with this since this is an incentive in itself, but you do get the $6.25 off per point ($104-6.25=$97.75 per point). My guide did tell me that this ends Dec. 1st. If you don't have a guide yet, I can give you my guide's name and info through PM and she can tell you everythng you need!! She processed all of our stuff immediately and we got our paperwork in 2 days. Good luck, hope this helps!!

found this info out today from friends who visited sales center about year ago. They got this mailer today from DVC stating minimum buy in now for BLT is 160 points and as of January 15 2009 it will increase to minimum of
200 points

Well maybe that shouldn't surprise me ( but yes it did ! ) because current members will need to purchase minimum of 100 BLT points if we want to do an add-on there as of January 15.... so I guess it would stand to reason that a person buying into DVC for the first time would be expected to buy more points at BLT as well...

Did you have to put money down and if so how much? Were there closing costs? Do I just have to have the paperwork started. Curious as I get my Christmas bonus on Dec. 5th. Also, Do you get to choose your UY? Or do they just assign one to you? I would like August.

We just had to do a $500 down payment to get the paperwork started. You won't close for probably 30-45 days but as long as you're in the system you will get the current incentives. We actually put down 1/2, but I think you only need $500 to start off. You can put your whole down payment on a CC (which we did for CC reward points). (Or if you really want you can put the whole thing on there and not finance any of it). And then with your bonus pay off the CC when the statement comes in. Disney only charges you closing costs for your initial buy in, and ours was $225 or something like that (which we paid on CC too with the Down payment). We also ended up adding 25 extra points, those had no closing costs and we paid those in full with a CC.
