100 DIsney cruises

100 cruises at $4,000 per cruise... $400,000.00 That is an impressive travel budget just for cruising!!
There was a time where you could easily get an inside on the Dream for $300/pp. Last minute deals were plenty, more discounts for FL residents. It was very easy to move up to Platinum in the early days.

This couple sat next to us in Enchanted Garden on our last cruise. Officers were coming over and sitting with them throughout dinner. We wondered who the heck they were. LOL

I'm guessing you didn't read the article. Don't know where you came up with that high price. They said they don't have any children.

I did read the article. What do you think their average cruise cost?

My guess 2000-2500 average a cruise.
There was a couple a few years ago on here that was up to 70 something. My guess it's the same couple. They did a lot of 3 and 4 night cruises. Also a couple doesn't have to go in prime time. They can go in off season unless it's in Europe like they said they did the Baltic that will up the average. Of course it could be a lot more if they are staying conceierge. I'm assuming most of their cruises have also been where they saved 10 percent or got a gty rate. In any case it's a lot of money lots more than I have. Congrats to them. DCL rates were a lot cheaper also back some years ago.

"100 cruises, 526 days"

So, yeah. A *ton* of 3 and 4-day cruises I would imagine since they don't come very close to a 7-day average over that time. They were on a 7-day Eastern with us last December, though.

It's easy to get to Platinum and above really quickly if you only take 3-day cruises, though.

I was just about to post the same thing. We are still Gold with 8 cruises completed, but we also have 61 nights, so our average is just under an 8-night cruise. When we finally make Platinum in October, we will have 76 nights, for just about the same average we have now. I am just glad they did not do it only on 100 3-night cruises on Disney Dream, that would be torture.

I finished cruise #30 last month, but only 6 of those were on Disney. I have 4 cruises booked for 2017, and DCL cruise #7 is booked for April 2018. Lord willing - I hope to remain healthy enough to keep traveling the remaining years of my life, but I don't aspire to 100 cruises. For one thing - I am not interested in cruising just to cruise, and I like land trips too much.

Oh wow! I can't wait to be an empty nester. :) I believe I will start the cruise count to 100 myself.

We just completed our 4th DCL cruise, with a total of 33 nights. Our next cruise is 14 nights. Then AFTER that we'll be gold. As for now we're still silver! :surfweb:

We had 53 nights (5 cruises) when we went Gold - 10 night average.
We had 90 nights (10 cruises) when we made Platinum - 9 night average (that Dream cruise lowered our average).

I agree, taking a lot of 3 & 4 night cruises would be a brutal way to accumulate cruises. But, maybe they like just hanging around on the ship, and not the ports so much.

That is an impressive average, I am assuming a few PC and TAs were in there as well as the longer itineraries. That is what makes you a true font of knowledge on this board, the variety of cruises you have taken and not just a lot of time in the Bahamas and Caribbean repeating the same routes. What is your DCL night/cruise count up to now, if you don't mind my asking?

Well, we've slowed down a little. We cruise not only DCL, so we've been on some other lines. We've only done one more cruise since making Platinum, so our average is only about 9.5 now.

Those (DCL) cruises were:
1- 15 night
3 - 14 night
1 - 10 night
4 - 7 night
1- 5 night and
1- 4 night

Overall, in all our cruising we have 185 nights on 17 cruises. That averages out to almost 11 nights per cruise.

That is an impressive mix of DCL cruises. So are your other cruises only oceanic, or do you have some river cruises in those?
