10% off lunch for AP question???

AP holders get 10% off lunch prices at certain locations (pretty much everywhere). Ok. Here is my question, obviously when you are seated/or make adr you have to let them know that you are a AP holder, but has anyone ever had a hassle getting the 10%???

I'm on vacation so I don't want to have to badger someone but hey 10% is 10%! I have had other experiences on vacations (not Disney in this case) where something similar is offered and when we arrive everyone acts like they've never heard of this before or we have to dig out brochures or something to show them what they advertise? Very frustrating when on vacation!

So is Disney pretty good about this? I.E. if we say we are AP holders then they know about discounts and such without us having to constantly remind them and such?

IF your an AP holder I would get the DDE card. This cost about $60 now but is good for a 20% discount on all of your food and alcohol purchases. It is accepted at more places and you get your cost of the card back in no time at all.
To answer your question: Don't worry. Disney is used to giving the discount for an AP, DVC and DDE card. You don't have to tell the waiter first if you don't want to, just tell them when the bill comes. They will gladly take the bill back and give you the 10% discount. I've never had trouble with Disney restaurants with any discount.
By the way, there are so many different discounts out there that I would bet at least 50% of the diners have some plan they are working on.

Well, I wouldn't say that, I think it's only for the resort restaurants, not anyplace in the parks.
In my experience, we simply handed them our AP with our CC or room key along with the bill, and it was taken care of without batting an eyelash. It's one of the more standard discounts that has been around quite awhile so most servers should encounter it.

I do agree that the DDE is a better deal though. 20% rather than just 10, and good at every restaurant and CS.

At many locations, it's only for lunch and only Monday to Friday. I saw a couple arguing with a waitress once at Rose and Crown, they would not accept it because it was Sunday. Be sure to read the conditions:
