Christa - Don't be sorry to share. Seeing a parent through a loss is emotionally draining, on top of dealing with the own personal loss you suffer. It also is a time that reminds us of our own mortality and makes us ponder our blessings and thankfulness for these people in our lives that touch us and love us and we love in return. The only thing we are promised in life is death and so we must do what's right and treasure our time together while we have it. Disney really gives us opportunities to have those moments with our families and so it's really nice to have fellow humans who share in the same realization. And in that bond, we are bonded. I'm thankful for that. It's a reason these boards are so successful, it brings us together to share in our happiness and think of you through the hard stuff. It's all shared here. I'm glad you have a place to go like that!!! I do hope you know you have been in my thoughts all day and I'm so sorry for your loss and the loss your family suffers. Will keep checking in to see how you're doing - please keep coming back and letting us know. Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Spent most of mine working in the yard. I have been fussing over my gardens more so this year then ever before. Went to water aerobics on Saturday and my husband has decided to join me. I finally convinced him to stop running. It is causing him so much pain. He leaves next week for firefighting in California for 2 weeks. They are rotating in. My husband is in the Airforce and they are using their planes to dump fire stuff on the fires.

Willie is so cute. I am so glad we got him. He is so loveable he acts like he was born and raised in our home. I still can't believe we have 3 dogs now!

davidls-It's nice knowing you and I can relate to all the challenges of helping to raise the grandbabies. Yesterday at church there was a lady there that said she is raising not just helping but raising 7 grandkids!! Oh my goodness I felt a lot of compassion for her.

As for dogs, we have 3 also. Three labradors is too many! I'll get a picture of them too, but the 3rd one sent me over the edge! DH went to Sportsman's Warehouse and bought her out of the back of a truck. She's nearly 3 and just growing out of her puppy phase! She's naughty!

Barb, congrats on Willie! Let us know how it goes!

Jac, Your the best souvenir I have ever gotten from any vacation...


So here's an update, My aunt is having everything done in one day, Monday it will be 8-9am family, 9-11 open viewing and 12 mass and service at church. She wanted it all in one day and of course some famliy members aren't happy, my dad is 1 of 10 so there are alot of opinions going around. I think they are trying to respect that she was his wife and she does have the final say. Boy am I glad I'm an only child...lol

Well thanks again everyone for all your prayers and good wishes I'll check back in in a few days.

Funerals are so complicated. Nobody is ever happy with the arrangements, flowers, set up - you name it, someone has an opinion about it to be unhappy with. Hopefully the family can put their own agendas aside and celebrate the life of your uncle instead of sweating the small stuff. Been thinking about you constantly.

Hi all ... been busy planning for my August vacation ... Can't wait. We are doing a scrap swap, so if it goes well... Maybe we can organize one for our cruise. I think we have quite a few scrappers on board?

Life here is hectic... My daughter went to Canada's Wonderland yesterday and lost her glasses on one of the coasters. Thank goodness she had a second pair at home. I have been trying to call them all morning to see if they have been found and are still in one piece, but keep getting voice mail. Hopefully, they will find them!

Hi all ... been busy planning for my August vacation ... Can't wait. We are doing a scrap swap, so if it goes well... Maybe we can organize one for our cruise. I think we have quite a few scrappers on board?

Life here is hectic... My daughter went to Canada's Wonderland yesterday and lost her glasses on one of the coasters. Thank goodness she had a second pair at home. I have been trying to call them all morning to see if they have been found and are still in one piece, but keep getting voice mail. Hopefully, they will find them!

Glasses update ... They called back and left a message... They found them! Now I have to go down (1.5 hour drive) to make sure they are hers. Let me see 3 hour drive vs. $200 for a new pair ? Hmmm .... tough decision!

Tried that ... Their policy is to have them picked up in person and signed for. We are going to head out on Sunday. (They will hold them for 30 days. It's really a nice drive. There is a huge shopping mall out that way, so we'll make it a fun afternoon. Better clear off that credit card

I'm not a scrapper, I'm a wanna be! I started buying pre-made scrapbook pages on e-bay and I've put together a Disney Cruise album. I'll join you and cut and paste my pictures!

We're getting into the final countdown for our Hawaii trip - my mom is coming to house-sit for us and I've been fixing up the guest room for her so it's comfortable and pretty. I'm off to find a small dresser and a nice chair. Then I have muumuus planned for my girls and me. So, just busy, busy!

Hi all ... Trip was a success ... they were her glasses, and they are all in one piece!!! No breakage...

There was a Disney outlet store just down the street from the park, so we got some good deals for my Secret Mickey on the repo cruise. I think my SM will be happy.. I hope so anyway!

I'll let everyone know how the swap goes. I don't think we are actually going to be scrapping... just swapping kits for a page! Should be fun and will give us all ideas for our scrapbook too!

On another note, I could use some pixie dust my way. My sister had to take my Mom to Emerg early this morning ... Turns out she needs to have her Gall Bladder removed. They are keeping her in and hope to have it removed Wednesday or Thursday. She is on Coumadin (DVT history) and has to be weaned off it first. My younger brother has Down's Syndrome, so he will be coming up to stay with me while Mom is in the Hospital. Kirstyn is at home, so she will be able to stay with him while I am at work. I'll know more about her condition tonight when I go see her. Please keep her in your thoughts. Thanks.
