10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

Not to be a pest, but can anyone confirm is this is the FINAL list of participants???? Just need to get my ducks in a row...

Thank you for taking the time to figure these all !!! I am working on my questionaire and I will PM it to you !!!!:cool1:

Hi Karen and Tony from Australia!!!!! The weather in Florida is hot and humid, I expect similar on the cruise. See you soon!

Did a quick happy dance :dance3: and then hurried off to do my work out! :yay: It'll be here before we know it!! :woohoo:

The other day my boss and co-workers were talking about an upcoming meeting. I commented I wouldn't be at the meeting, I'll be on vacation that day but assured them I'd toast my drink to their meeting and think about them. My boss said if I'm drinking at 8 am, I have issues. I assured her when I'm on vacation, there are no rules when it comes to drinking and 8 am will mean it's 11 am on the cruise and a drink will be past due!!! :woohoo:

so as the cruise rapidly approaches....25 days!!!! should we discuss a possible meet up on the boat the first or second day? any ideas anyone? im looking forward to meeting everyone

I am all for a meet!!! When we cruised in 2007, the DISers had a meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3 pm on the 1st day. It was a real quick meet and greet. What do you all think??

I'd be in for a meet! Was it really rushed for you to get to the meet and greet at 3? I feel like the whole day will be rushed until after 4 for some reason, I guess partly because I *think* I know what my family will be doing until the sailaway party. Then we are in the late dinner sitting. But of course, I am already forgetting the all aboard show, I assume that's before our dinner sitting...?

Yes, the all aboard show is before dinner. It'll be boat drill into deck party...welcome aboard show....and then dinner (we're at the late seating too). So actually. before the boat drill, at 3 sounds great!

3 in Promenade is good!

A long while back someone tried to get us to pick a name and icon for this cruise. Does anyone remember what post that was or what the pictures were. I liked the Columbus Day one and I can not remember it.

Also, did anyone know, before docs arrived, they were celebrating Halloween!!! I am so excited except I can not bring my Mrs. Potatoe head costume because it takes a suitcase all by itself!!

My dd13 will be 14 in December and is a bit shy when it comes to making friends. I thought if there was going to be someone her age on the cruise then maybe they can talk ahead of time and it would make it an easier transition for her so that it would be like she already knows someone. She is wanting to move up into the 14-17 group if they will let her but, I prefer her to stay in the 11-13 year old group. (Even though she is mature for her age). She is afraid that there are going to be mostly 11 and 12 year olds in that age group.

I'm sorry, my DS is 15 but I can relate to how you're feeling. When we cruised in 2007, I was completely prepared for DS to be by my side every minute of every day. On the first day, we went to the Stack together and I have to tell you, the CM that greeted DS was amazing. She was very outgoing and welcoming. He went back that evening, on his own, and getting him to stay out of the Stack was nearly impossible for the rest of the trip. I think your DD will definitely make friends because I think the CM's do absolutely everything they can to get the teens to feel comfortable and involved.
