I see I need to go back and read your first TR--any advice to someone who planning a trip for 11, most being new to Disney (and DH and I's second trip ever, first time planning it)? I am working on going through the menus too now that we have booked our ADRs of healthy options, so I am right there with you!

I know the menus are not guaranteed but I am hopeful that I will be able to find things. I am most worried about the CS options--that is where I need to do the most research. How often do you meet up with the extended family? Are you all staying together at the same resort doing a GG?
Hi!! I planned our first family trip and it was the worst trip ever!!!! There were 16 of us and we went the week after xmas (first huge mistake) and tried to do everything together.... no plans for the parks.... no reservations...
This time, we are going in February (we went the same week this year) and there is NOBODY in the parks... the weather is cool, the kids will all be a little older, I am keeping it simple... like you I will research and know where and what I can eat. I figure we will do GG for breakfasts in the rooms, and that gives us some extra time to get ourselves together in the morning, and then lunch will be a counter service - people can do whatever they want, and we can all meet up at the hotel and head to dinner together. There will only be a few nights that we will all be together, so I am booking Chef Mickey for the first night, we will try the new mexican rest and watch illuminations from there (which I think will make it nicer with a big group) and then for the last night, we will eat at Ohana and also view Wishes from there.
How do you like using GG--are you happy with the quality of the perishables? Though with us driving, we can probably just go to the store on our own but I have to say the convenience is something to consider...:confused2:
We have used them a few times and I LOVE GG! the delivery is $12.00 and I think that is worth not having to stop and waste time on vacation shopping. I love that it is delievered to your room, and I love getting a case of waters and some fruit. (I also love that they deliver wine... which makes it a lot cheaper to have a drink by the pool at your hotel!)
From my beginning look at menus, I would say Sunshine Season at EP-FW is a good option. Though I am not sure if you want a WS place. Not sure on the MK options yet. I am still researching that one along with knowing where healthy snack options are going to be at too.
I am such a planner and worried about staying on track while in Disney- I thought the best thing to do would be to look at the menus and get an idea of what they have and what the healthy option would be.... here goes what I have so far for CS:
Lunch at Sunshine Seasons (12:00 )The Grill: Rottis Chicken with carrots and salad
Pizza Planet at DHS - caprese Salad, apple slices
MK- Cosmic Rays - Veggie Wrap and Apple Slices
I am working on losing weight too and have joined the MyFitnessPal after you recommended it--I am still learning how to use it but I really like it. I splurged at dinner tonight, but I had realized I had eaten very little the rest of the day, I needed a filling dinner!
:
thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!!!!
1900 PF is probably the the dining reservation I am most looking forward too.

: What about thinking of mini-golf as an option? You get one voucher to use for it.
I was thinking that mini golf would be fun for us to do... I am just not sure how convenient it would be to get there from the hotel.
Ohh--apples and peanut butter! Thanks for mentioning that. I made DD a pb&j sandwich and I was thinking I needed to figure out what to eat with peanut butter. Apples would be a yummy choice!

: I have had to eliminate bread and pasta from my diet, for multiple reasons. I really have eliminate most of the sweets (I will occasionally have two scoops of Edy's Slow Churn) from my diet. It seems to be helping a lot too. I find I am actually having problems eating ENOUGH calories some days. I don't weigh in until Sunday, so we will see how it is working.

I think the no sweets is KEY!! I had a minor set back this week because I thought I was ok to have a small piece of pie .... NOPE! All it made me do was want more. I was standing over the sink ready to throw it out and was eating just a little bite which turned into um, a lot of the pie.... I finally threw it out and decided that it is MUCH easier to stay away from sweets when I just eliminate them. One bite and I am all done!
Do you do the Disney Nights every week? We are planning on watching a Disney movie each week until we leave. This week is Alice in Wonderland which we will watch tomorrow.
